Don’t believe everything that you read in reviews! The one posted on the 23rd had inaccurate information. The trees that were removed were diseased and a permit was not required. Joe’s crew at Sunset are top notch. They do an excellent job all area, removal, trimming and cleanup. Joe is an excellent arborist and considers all factors, the vitality of the trees, the visual impact and the needs of the client. I would never hesitate to recommend him.

I was very pleased with the tree removal work done by Joe and his crew. It was quick, safe and very professional. They also leveled the terrain and made my front yard look 100% better just by extracting the two trees.
His team ensured that my sidewalk and entrance was completely clean before they left.
Joe also took some time to give me some pointers regarding my new garden design. He is a very cordial person.

Omg i called Sunset Tree and Landscaping as i was dissatisfied with my current tree company. I have a 2nd home/​rental here in Scripps Ranch. Joe returned my call within 10 minutes and out the next day. All i can say is my trees never looked bettet. I have never had such nice compliments from friends and neighbors! Quick, better than average service, friendly and more value for money,.Compared to what i previously paid the other company i am getting twice the value and friendlier workers. Highly recommend this company… you can tell they take pride in there work… so do I! Feel free to text with any questions. Had sunset tree removal service do some work at my house today. Called 15 companies most of them did not call me back. Joe called me back and was out the next morning at 7:30am to handle the job at a very fair price. I live in Scripps Ranch he’s also a Scripps Ranch residence. Glad to give business to a local business.

Sunset Tree & Landscaping Service dumped three full loads of cut trees and branches on Pomerado Road between Fairbrook and Semillon. This is being done in plain view of the road in the middle of the day. We saw the third of three loads dumped while walking our dogs on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 at 1:05 PM.
You will see several other mentions of this illegal dumping in the Unilocal reviews. The reviews date back at least one year so Sunset has not changed their practices.
While this may not be taking place in your neighborhood, it is taking place in ours. It leaves a giant mess that someone else cleans up.
We encourage you not to do business with Sunset Tree & Landscape Services.

I have nothing but good things to say about the service Joe and his company provided for us! We had 3 large and overgrown trees in our front yard that they just trimmed for us this year. In comparison the year before we had our gardeners do the job… What a difference! Joe and his team really know what they are doing to appropriately shape the trees for future growing. They also removed a large magnolia and jackaranda and magnolia tree from our back yard. They were very cautious and clean and did a great job.
My husband and I were also pleased with the advice and guidance joe gave us about the way our landscaping would look the best and which trees to trim and leave. Very knowledgeable! And pricing is very reasonable as well!

This company is illegally dumping their mulch in my neighborhood! I would never use this company or any company for that matter breaking the law… and I hope that you all do the same!

Called them on the recommendation from a friend of mine (whose pretty picky about the trades people she uses). Just had two trees trimmed in my front yard. They did an excellent job and cleaned up everything afterward. The price was very competitive. I had a truck in the drive way I couldn’t move and they very carefully worked around it. Very pleased with their work and will be recommending them. I’ve had trees trimmed by other companies at my rentals and the work doesn’t compare.

I just had my front and back yards taken care of by this company. I can’t say enough good things about the owners and their employees. Everyone was very professional, and they did an outstanding job. They were all very clean and polite. My trees look so much better than before, and therefore my yards. Even my neighbors had good things to say.
On top of all that, their prices were very good, considering the amount of service they provided. The only regret I have is that I didn’t hire them sooner!
I will definitely be using this company again, on a regular basis. I give them my highest recommendation.
