Super 8 Motel

During my search for hotel accommodations this motel located one block above the heart of Little Italy came up big in terms of saving money on room rates. The motel is undergoing major renovation expected to be completed in 2008, and this is posted on most of the search sites. The construction work posted as Monday through Saturday from 8 AM until 5 PM was never really a distraction.
The rooms, although small in size, are very clean and well kept, and there is a microwave and a very cold refrigerator in the room. Considering I would have paid twice as much or more at other hotels in this area, this ended up being a very good accommodation for me.
The only negative was a bit of a musty smell in the room when I first checked in. I inquired at the front desk and was told that there is a Rite Aid pharmacy just a few blocks away. Four dollars and a can of air sanitizer erased the odor problem. When my wireless internet went down I was able to find dial up access from my room and I wasn’t charged for any of the local calls I made.
If you are in town to run in a future Rock n Roll Marathon and you basically need a room just to sleep and clean up in, I highly recommend this motel which is about a twelve block walk to the start line and/​or a short trolley ride and a three block walk from the finish line.
