Super 8 San Diego Hotel Circle

I have stayed here on a couple different occasions with my daughter, mom and boyfriend. I was a bit iffy at first bcuz of the reviews but I really love staying here whenever we visit san diego. It’s a great price and the rooms are really clean! And im a big time germaphobe and i was really satisfied with how clean the room was. The one bed room, is pretty tiny but your just here to sleep right? If you have kids tho I really recommend the room with two beds. The breakfast is really good too! I thought it was only gonna be like toast and juice but you can make your own waffles and they have muffins and apple and orange juice. Also even tho there is alot of traffic going by I didn’t hear anything when I was in the room. The people in the lobby are nice.

NO Stars!!! Terrible Hotel… Hell NO!!! Never again. Checking in takes 10 – 15 min, only 1 person working while couple others hangout in the back ground. Every time you go to the front desk it will take 15 min to talk to someone… Room very small with too much furniture, you couldn’t even walk around the room, without bumping into something. The beds have bedbugs or mites in the beds, so changing sheets doesn’t help. $ 100 deposit for room, which I had to wait 2 hours after check out for a manager to show up to get back cash (they said it was in the safe… but the agent gave me cash from the draw which she should have done 2 hours earlier, instead of having me wait for manager, who didn’t even apologize or show his face. The cleaning staff only speaks Spanish… so forget asking them for anything… And if they don’t approve of your review they delete it so it doesn’t show up on there website…

The woman with long dark hair late 30’s early 40’s at the front desk blatantly lied to my face.
The only people I saw on the property that didnt look like a serious drug addict were the taxi drivers that seemed to constantly be there.
The breakfast though minimal was better than nothing.
100 $ Deposit is required at check in when you book online.
I will never come back here. I have stayed at two other hotels in hotel circle area that were a similar price range, but bigger/​Nicer rooms, less druggies, and so far~ a non lying staff. I would gladly go back to either one of those hotels, or take my chance with the motel 6 even, over this drug ridden place, and the lying employees that work there.

Rooms were great and clean and comes with a fridge/​freezer. They need new ironing boards; ones without holes in them. They don’t charge for parking but it got crowded quickly. The previous night at another hotel, I had to pay $ 18 per night for parking! Complimentary breakfast was above par, loved making my waffles. Beds were very comfortable. Only downfall was I had to wait ten minutes in the lobby for someone to notice me trying to check in, when she came though she was really nice. I can always trust a Super 8 Motel, legit 4 out of 5

Terrible experience overall. Small room which I can live with. Shower was pretty dirty. But my toilet didn’t even work, and when I went downstairs to ask about a public bathroom, they took zero interest in actually addressing the problem of getting the toilet fixed. They just told me to go use the bathroom in the laundry room.
The one positive is it was in an area where I felt safe walking a couple miles alone at night. But for $ 111, this was a pretty horrible experience.

Definitely not worth the time here. Very, very small hotel room and felt super damp whenever the AC wasn’t on. The hotel staff, or at least the front desk attendant was unfriendly. I asked for new linens because there was a small coffee stain on the spread we had and the first thing he tells me is «you are aware of the damage charges, correct?» Awful customer service. Second off, when I went in for the new linens I heard the attendant asking for a mans license plate and description of car. Later that evening I asked my boyfriend if he was asked for our plate numbers and he said no! Who ever he checked in with didn’t even bother to ask if we had cars, and we could’ve easily been towed. Don’t stay here, unless you want unfriendly service and a dirty room.

We got a room here for our anniversary because it was close to the zoo. Definitely great value for how conveniently located we were to practically everything we wanted to do for the weekend. The room we had was small and i wish they didnt have the table and chairs in the room, just to make walking around the room easier. Other than that i cant complain. Best deal we could have ever found for such a convenient location!

I felt like I was staying in a half way house with the layout of the 10 by 10 room. It was not clean, some of the lights didn’t work, and the TV was fuzzy. The only redeeming thing was the price, but I think it’s even too high for what you get. If this wasn’t a business trip I’d never have stayed here, and I won’t in the future.

For the money I spent on this hotel, it was pretty bad. The staff was okay. But the placed reminded me of a jail. The room smelled gross like old cigarettes. If I spent $ 40 bucks on this hotel I may have given it a better review. But seriously for the price, definitely not worth it. I did go in July so I’m sure it’s a peak month. The buffet was very limited as well. I would not stay at a Super 8 again unless it was the only hotel around.

Don’t let the negative reviews fool you.
Checking in was a breeze, staff was prompt, accommodating and friendly.
Insect-​free, clean beds, nicely sized rooms, cable TV worked good, A/​C kicked butt, shower was great.
Breakfast was plentiful and tasted good.
Parking was no problem.
Wifi worked great.
For $ 80 a night, I highly recommend this motel for anyone looking for the best bang for their buck on their SD trip.

I think people need to realize that this is a Super 8 and not the Four Seasons. With that in mind, I did not even think this place was all that bad, even for a Super 8.
I booked this place a whole year in advance for Comic Con and I was super glad that I did. I got the room for really cheap for the duration of Comic Con. It averaged out to about $ 80 a night. There was 4 of us that shared a room, so it was about $ 80 for the entire 4 nights of Comic Con. Checking in was a breeze and the place was very easy to find. The lobby was clean and checking in went pretty quick. I was able to get 4 keys for our group with no hassle. It it located at one end of hotel circle. There is no street parking, but there were plenty of parking spots. The shuttles for Comic Con stop pretty much right in front, at the burger joint between the Days Inn next door and this place.
There are no rooms on the ground floor. The ground floor is all parking, with some parking spaces open and some under the building. All the rooms are located on floors 2 – 4. Note that there is only one elevator. Our room was located on the other side of the elevator so we had to walk around a good portion of the building to get from the elevator to our room. Stairs are plenty, which was what we used most of the time anyways. We only used the elevator to initially bring all our stuff in and check out. Parking here was free which is a plus since many of the hotels in hotel circle do charge for parking.
Our room was a 2 queen bed room. I felt it may have been a bit small for 4 people, but 2 or 3 and it shouldn’t be a problem. Anyways, the room had everything we needed. It came with a microwave, fridge, eating table, TV, and the basic amenities. We blasted the AC everyday and so the room always felt nice. The beds were not the most comfy beds in the world, but comfy enough that we got our rest every night. I do not know if they changed all the rooms, but the sheets and blankets in our room all looked brand new. Carpet did not look the cleanest, but I’ve stayed in other motels like this that were much more run down. They also have free breakfast in the morning from 6:30am-9am. We only ate breakfast there once because we always left before breakfast time for Comic Con. Breakfast was not the greatest… but it was included, and better than not eating anything at all! They had a waffle maker, so you could make fresh waffles. Other items included sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee, milk, juice.
I’m glad I booked early and was able to get the great deal I received. If I had waited until later and paid the crazy prices that some other people paid just because it was Comic Con, then I would be upset.
Book early for the best prices. San Diego is pricey and especially if you are going during Comic Con. As long as the prices are good, you’ll see me here again during Comic Con! I actually already booked my rooms a couple of weeks ago already for Comic Con here!

I checked into my room with a rate over $ 180 dollars and found dried human feces on the toilet seat, not under or around but ON it. The room I was given was disgusting with numerous heavy stains on the carpets and even a large noticeable one on my sheets. I think what really set me off was the plastic bag someone had taken and placed over the smoke detector in my room (it was an ice bag from the table directly below). Even then the room service personnel did not even take notice to fix this or my sheets or clean the toilet?
Rest assured that I have no intention of ever staying in this Hotel again.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Beds are gross have holes in sheets and everything needs updated. It’s grimy and has dirt everywhere. Wifi doesn’t work and won’t stay connected. Theft is a huge issue here and hotel staff is not pleasant. I repeat DO NOT STAY HERE!

This place is disgusting and filthy dirty. Between the non smoking room smelling like a bar and blood and And unknown stains everywhere, I would not recommend this place at all. As an added bonus the walls are paper thin, and you can hear every single thing from other rooms and outside.

This is absolutely DISGUSTING.
There was blood or something on lap shade, burn holes on bed spred, light bulds burned out, stains on bed side skirt, questionable stains on floor. I would normally never complain but this is too much.

I have never experienced something like this before in my life. When you make a reservation for a hotel that is charged to your credit card, you assume you have a room reserved. Well not in this case. I had made a reservation, drove 5 hours from home, had a reservation number and was charged over 350.00 for my room to be told they don’t have a room for me. To make matters worse, we were celebrating my autistic son’s birthday and planned to take him to lego land the next day. I had asked them to honor the reservation but they refused. This was the worst birthday of his life. And one of the worst trips I have ever taken. Never again.
I advise anyone who makes a online reservation to call and confirm that you actually have a room and get the name of the person you spoke to before driving hours from home to not have a hotel.

While there may be a great deal of soundproofing from floor to floor, these two rooms seem to have only paper between them. Besides, there is a pass-​through door.
The room is reasonably good, otherwise, but small. It has a single, queen-​sized bed with a flat screen TV and refrigerator, though the microwave oven is missing from its cubbyhole. A rather painful problem is that the company has gone out of its way to make power outlets scarce and difficult to use. There is one easily visible, reachable outlet, but they’ve used some outlet hardware which doesn’t grab the prongs (as with their other motel locations), and you have to prop up the cable to keep it in the outlet.
The clerk at the front desk was friendly and efficient, using my reservation from
with ease. Traffic in and out of this location is a pain, but then, it’s San Diego, and there aren’t many places that aren’t a pain.

This was a emergency stay and had my Grandad over at UCSD Medical Center Hillcrest. The front desk was very pleasing and offered our room at $ 10 off discount (total of $ 56.28 with tax) for having this emergency near by the hotel. It made us feel cared for.
The room that we were given was clean. No cigarette smoke. No cockroaches. No bedbugs.

Don’t feel discouraged to check this place out yourself. There were a couple bad reviews but we checked it out and found it to be decent.

We went back again this time they had roaches, we will not go back again ever. They also have bed bugs
