Best tacos I’ve found in a long time. I usually take my own lunch to work but on Fridays when Tacos La Mezcla comes I always buy! The carnitas are perfectly cooked, crunchy and tasty and the Korean Asado is a unique taco you won’t find anywhere else. If you see this truck you MUST try!

Taco point system(3 pts/criteria) — protein(flavor/taste/seasoning/meatfishquality) — umami sensory experience(the more indescribable the better) — yearn factor(heartbreaker effect, «gotta have it again, gotta have it now» situation) + 1 pt because no taco deserves to get left behind Starting from bottom(clockwise): — carnitas — 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 5⁄10 — Korean fusion — 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4⁄10 — shrimp — 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4⁄10 Bottom line — not bad, not great, seasoning game underwhelming, carnitas and kbbq were dry & bland, I’ve had better, but will I go back? Obviously.

Tacos were great! Had the shrimp taco and the chicken carnitas… Awesome!!! A tiny bit on the pricey side but we’ll worth it I think!

Yum!!! Found them at Fall Brewing on a Tuesday night and was pumped that their food was so delicious. Highly recommend the carnitas or shrimp tacos as well as the carnitas nachos!

I’ve enjoyed their food a couple times when they’re at Fall Brewing. The first time they made me veggie nachos that were huge and delicious! Second time I had the potato rolled tacos that were some of the best I’ve ever had.

This truck frequently visits my place of work and is by far one of my favorites. Francisco and the team know their stuff when it comes to flavor, quality, and fairness. Their food will fill you up and won’t break your bank account in the process. By far some of the best Carnitas I’ve had. I will scream from the mountain tops about these Carnitas. The tender, flavorful shreds of pork with just a bit of crispiness to the edges, just like my hypothetical Abuela used to make, if she ever existed anywhere else but my mind. Try all of the tacos. Try the Korean Asada and the Chicken Barbacoa. That Chicken Barbacoa will change your life. Tell them Payam sent you, for nothing other than the fact that this truck is awesome and that more people should experience the heaping portions of deliciously seasoned and perfectly cooked meats that create a harmony of flavor and an air of satisfaction directly after eating. Live long and tacos, Payam

Downright tasty tacos! I ordered the Korean Asada and Grilled Shrimp tacos. The Korean Asada was sweet yet tangy and also had some crunch to it. The Grilled Shrimp was equally divine and I love how they offered it grilled instead of the usual fried option. Tacos were a little pricey($ 2.50-$ 4.00) and were pretty small. My hunger was ravenous and I downed these within minutes… A little disappointed that I wasn’t fuller. Also a tad disappointed at how the guy in the truck treated the Filipina aunties. They were a little too honest about the taco’s being too expensive, but he took this to heart and became very defensive. He was otherwise very friendly and upbeat to me. Will certainly give them a try again if I see them in the city streets.

If 108 outstanding reviews aren’t enough to convince you, I’m not sure what else to say. Still, I’ve so thoroughly enjoyed their food, their service and their outstanding staff for so long, I have been remiss in not singing their praises. Where to start? Just stop reading and buy a taco already! There is nothing on their menu that I don’t thoroughly enjoy, but my favorites are the Korean Asada, the Chicken Barbacoa and the Carnitas. Is this the traditional San Diego ‘bertos style Mexican food that we all know and love? Absolutely not. No orange and yellow striped buildings here. Is it amazingly delicious and completely original? Absolutely, yes! This place does San Diego proud and confirms we have the best Mexican food in the world at our fingertips. I host a monthly event at The Whistle Stop, and the bar has different food trucks outside all the time. But I am always completely stoked when Tacos La Mezcla is able to roll up outside. This isn’t just my favorite food truck, it’s some of the best food served in town, on wheels or brick and mortar. Always fresh and mouth watering. Always friendly and warm. There is nothing more you can ask for or want in a business. Can you tell that I love them? Stop reading and seek them out. You’ll love them too!

Hands down the best truck that comes to Qualcomm on a regular basis. Korean asada is always my favorite but can’t go wrong with any taco. Thanks for coming religiously every Tuesday to us here.

The food and service with Tacos La Mezcla are top notch. Francisco has an engaging personality and excels at events. The Korean Asada made a wonderful impression on me being both delicious and unique. It doesn’t stop there though as the carnitas and barbacoa tacos were also awesome. I highly recommend Tacos La Mezcla for a great meal or catering an event.

We picked this food truck at the Maker Faire in Balboa Park because of the five star rating. I think we made a pretty good call because I really liked the Carnitas tacos for $ 10.50. The portion size was big and there was a lot of carnitas on it! Good chip to topping ratio was nice so I didn’t end up with a pile of chips. I can’t compare to many food trucks because this was a rare stop for us. The convenience at the event was too good to pass up though. Very quick service also. All considering I give it a five star and agree with Unilocal

I had meant to write a review the day I had them, but I must have needed time to recover from how absolutely amazingly wonderful the food was here. Super friendly service and seriously the best damn tacos I’ve ever had in my whole life. So many favors packed into the tacos– which were massive and a great deal. If you ever see this truck around, I recommend you drop whatever it is you’re doing and get somewhere between one and a million things from here. Writing this review and thinking about all that delishery is making me hungry.

I ordered the veggie tostada and was blown away by the presentation. Everything tasted just as delicious, but the cotija cheese was a bit overpowering. Next time I’ll ask them to go easy on it. We had chips & guac, and the guacamole was pretty damn tasty. The chips were extra salty, which I love, but my boyfriend does not. He ordered the carnitas tacos and they were delicious, too! I wish we had ordered the carnitas nachos, which we will certainly do next time. They have some great San Pelligrino flavors and their hot salsa is yummy. We spent $ 17 on dinner for two tacos, chips & guac, a veggie tostada, and a soda.

High praises to Tacos La Mezcla! Tried their food for the first time at a wedding this past weekend. Yes, they catered my friend’s wedding, much to my delight!!! I tried their Korean Asada(ahhhhhmazzzing) and carnitas tacos with rice, beans and guac. Kinda wishing that I would’ve had seconds at the wedding because the food was deeeeeeelicious! By chance, my friend-turned-neighbor suggested that we go to a brewery by our place to grab a beer and tacos. She was craving Korean Asada tacos from a taco truck. I was like, «Oh word?! Is is Tacos La Mezcla???» Sure enough– it was! We had guac and chips to start, Korean Asada and chicken barbacoa tacos tonight. For street tacos, the portions are big and oh-so-tasty. Their green chile is spicy, but not burn your tongue hot. The red sauce is flavorful, not much spice. Their customer service is AWESOME and their food is even better. I’m def coming back! Francisco– you’re great!!! I forgot to say bye tonight! I’m sure I’ll see you around soon :)

This food truck is amazeballs! I had the Korean tacos, by the time I wanted to take a photo, it was already in my tummy… Opps :) It is super juicy! The cook is very generous with the ingredients as well. We also had the«Chicken Nachos» … It was
The guacamole that he puts on smells like home made. Ohhh Gosh… And we pigged out even more and took a slice of «flan» home. This food truck goes to different breweries around San Diego. So I would suggest follow them on Instagram and Facebook to get their schedules and recent updates.

I am a believer in second chances and am very pleased to report that I gave Tacos La Mezcla another shot after Francisco, the owner sent me a personal e-mail inviting me back and telling me their tacos are not typically the way I described in my first review. He invited me to come back and try a shrimp taco on the house. I for one growing up in the restaurant industry will always appreciate a owner that takes pride in their product, so I happily went back to give them a second chance. I stopped by the taco truck near the tail end of their shift as I was walking my dog around the hood Tuesday evening. When I approached the truck Francisco immediately saw me and shouted out my name like we went way back. It was nice to be invited back with open arms after a not so stellar review. He personally made me a shrimp taco to go and when I got home it looked like sweet heaven. The taco was not soggy at all and the shrimp tonight were EXCELLENT. Completely different from my first experience. I could taste how they were grilled to perfection and the lime was the cherry on top. You forever have my raving reviews!

I saw this food truck on my way to work and thought I’d give it a shot. I got the fish taco and chips and guac. The fish in the fish taco was perfectly cooked and had a large heaping of salsa! Yum. The chips were super fresh along with the guac. The fish taco was $ 4 and the chips and guac were also $ 4. Fish taco was pricey but chips and guac came with a lot of chips. The service was really great though! Francisco is very outgoing and friendly, not to mention super funny! I will be making an occasional trip here! :)

Unexpected and incredible customer service. Who is running this truck? oh my God, they need to be running a restaurant. Exceptional service, food was good, messy yummy nachos, you can use plastic and I had the pleasure of meeting tacos la mezla at a brewery in north park. Very cool people who take pride in what they serve. Thank you tacos la mezcla.

we hired Tacos La Mezcla to serve tacos at a very high-profile media cocktail party with a bunch of TV and radio people… and I was so nervous because I wanted everything to be right… Well La Mezcla was an ABSOLUTEHIT! First, the tacos: AMAZING! I mean, soooooo good! Second, Francisco and his crew were the coolest, more professional and easy to work with people I could ever imagine. And finally, the truck looked bad ass! Great color, really«stood out,» and was super clean. It really made my party awesome! I definitely recommend if you want some tacos, or more importantly, are looking for someone to come by and cater an event. They were awesome!!!

Where to start on this incredible food truck… The service is great and the staff so friendly. Ok now to the food!!! The Korean Asada tacos are possibly the greatest things I’ve ever experienced, no joke. It’s like heaven and an orgasm in my mouth of flavors and perfect tenderness. I’m in love with these and I’ve had Kogi and Calbi truck in LA who made korean tacos famous but these are still my favorite! The jerk chicken tacos are a lighter option but still very good. The other chicken one that comes with feta cheese and onions, WOW!!! I first ate these culinary perfect tacos at Mission brewery in downtown but now follow this truck wherever they go! The price isn’t the cheapest for the small size(I recommend 4 – 5 if starving, 3 tacos if normal hungry) however, you get what you pay for and here they don’t sell cheap, bland, crappy food so well worth around $ 10 for 3 tacos.
