The Cellar

This is my spot. It is literally the next door down from my work and I pop in here multiple times a day when I need a drink (the non-​alcoholic variety). It also is a pretty good deal when you need a little nightcap for later. The prices, selection, and sales aren’t quite on BevMo’s level but you can’t beat buying on a Marine Corps Base (no tax) and convenience of grabbing it on the way out of work. The staff is always great and I really like what they did aestheically with the space. Stop in on a Friday for one of the sampling events they have.

Great prices on beer and a respectable selection as well.
I know they frequently have promotions/​wine tastings, but I personally have never attended. I’ll say the other folks who do seem to be having a good time.
The downside is that if you can’t get on a military installation, you won’t be able to capitalize on the value of this establishment.

This place has an impressive selection of wine and beer with great prices. The workers are very knowledgeable about their products and can help you choose a great wine at a good price.

It is imperative to inaugurate this «FIRST» review of this somewhat unique establishment by stating that this magnificent house of wine tasting, beer, and many spirits is accessible to military members and their immediate families exclusively.

Hence: Active Duty Personnel, Drilling Reservists, Retired Military, and all Dependants’ of the aforesaid.
That being said, if you’re not in the military and would like to experience this semi-​private location, I suggest that you hit up your military connected facebook friends here in San Diego, odds are that if you know of someone who is authorized to shop at this business you can reap the benefits and all of its splendor.
Personally, I have been shopping at «The Cellar» for many of my party needs for many years now. This place is a fine example of what a store of this caliber should be.
The selection here is absolutely marvelous!
Every Friday beginning at 3p.m. there is a wine tasting event that is impressive and anyone who considers themselves to be a weekend wine connoisseur (or even more elaborate) should stop by and taste the latest release of vino (or a vintage bottle perhaps) from the nectar of our earth.
Top this off with a group of staff members who all gave «me» such a welcoming spirit of friendliness and hospitality; you are really going to enjoy this place, I promise you that.
If you’re one of the luck ones who has the privilege to enjoy this magnificent enterprise count your blessings; if not, it might be time to say «THANK YOU» to a U.S. military veteran if you want to enjoy this hideaway. Regardless, you should thank a «VET» for their service whenever possible.
