The Crack Doctor Windshield Repair

After trying a few other local windshield repair shops and even calling one of the bigger commercial businesses, I came across The Crack Doctor Windshield Repair and it couldn’t have been any easier!
I called some other places just to get a quote and they had so many questions I had to answer that were totally unrelated to the windshield. One place wouldn’t even talk to me until I gave them my name, phone number, address, etc… When I called The Crack Doctor Windshield Repair, the owner answered and immediately I could tell the difference. Instead of being impersonal and only asking all about my contact information, he just asked for my first name and what I needed. Never asked for phone number, address or anything else. Didn’t even ask what kind of car I had. For the first time I was finally able to tell someone what was actually wrong.
I had been driving on the freeway when I heard that loud ‘crack’ that you know is going to be something more than just a small pebble bouncing off your windshield. Sure enough, I looked up and there was an albeit small, but nonetheless, distinct crack in the windshield. It was small enough you could cover it with a quarter and I wanted to get it fixed before it grew bigger. When I explained all this to the gentleman on the phone, he asked me how soon I would want to do this. He had an opening in his schedule 30 minutes from our phone call and I was close by so I made my way over. His office is easy to find and as I drove up there was a big sign over the business saying «park here» and pulled my car into the slot they have designated for service.
The owner looked over the windshield with his assistant and immediately went to work. They said it would take about 15 minutes and there is a waiting area directly in front of where they are working so I just took a seat as they started the repair. They were very friendly and we talked about a few things while they worked. It couldn’t have taken 15 minutes from the time I drove up until when I left. And if you «check-​in» on Unilocal,there is a coupon for $ 10 off.
This is one of those services you hope you never have to use, but if you do, these are the people you want to help you because they genuinely care about you and your problem and not just about all of your information. They were far more personable here than any other place I spoke to over the phone. And their prices are much better than any other place I spoke to. The work they did was great. When it was finished, I couldn’t see where the crack had been. They are professional, fair and do great work. Hopefully you too will never need this type of service, but if you do, don’t waste your time with other places. This is the place to go!

Another great visit — and this time, I didn’t even give them any business!
A rock hit my windshield, and caused a crack 12 inches long… and growing. When I brought it in, I was told that since the crack is in my direct line-​of-​sight… they couldn’t repair it.
What they DID do is give me a referral to an auto glass replacement company; started the phone call right there, and I made an appointment. One day later, my windshield is replaced. Thanks much!

Love this place! They do a wonderful job at fixing my windshield; that you can hardly tell it was ever damaged. I have been in so many times sadly but each time they do a great job! Gene is very honest and friendly. Only place I would go to get my window fix.

Unfortunately I’ve been here 2 times over the past 2 months. They are very professional and do great work.
When I came here the second time Gene went out of his way to notify me that my insurance covers his services in full. He saved me a great deal of trouble and money and has earned my business in the future.

Painless experience getting my windshield repaired. Gene even let me know that my insurance would cover the cost and I didn’t pay a penny out of pocket! Excellent customer service, clean shop, nice repair!

In and out in 15 mins. I called my insurance company while I was there and this ended up being free out of pocket since the deductible does NOT apply for windshield repairs ! Would have never known if he hadn’t informed me.

The Crack Doctor saved the day! I had 2 small cracks on my window (after just replacing the entire window shield less than a month ago :() and called these guys up based on their reviews. Not only was I was able to make an appointment right away, I got in and out quickly and the cracks are barely noticeable. Great work, fast turnaround, excellent customer service and reasonable pricing… what more could you ask for?

This was the simplest process ever! I got a rock that hit my windshield and wanted to take care of it before it got worse. I was researching a few people when I called her and spoke to Geoff. I made an appt for a couple hours later and headed over at my lunch time. I pulled in and he started his prep, he then explained to me that I can have my insurance cover this. Even though I was skeptical they would, he had me call in front of him and follow his directions while he worked on the window. It was less than 5 minutes on the phone with the insurance! They gave me all the info that I write down and handed to him. While the Window finished up, he was very friendly and talked about all his neat artwork he makes that he has displayed. Another male employee was there as well and he was just as friendly! I walked out of there with a fixed window and not paying anything! It was so fast and easy!

My car took a rock to the windshield driving home from a road trip. I happened to call this shop up at opening and was able to get there within minutes as the owner (Gene) didn’t have any appointments. I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes. Gene was very nice and professional. Got the $ 50 Unilocal check in special (cash only). I can barely tell the crack is there anymore in my windshield.

I was going to come to you guys to fix my windshield but the guy who answered the phone was a complete asshole and hung up on me. You guys have to understand that when you hang up on someone when they’re trying to talk to you about your business, trust me you’re going to lose business. You missed out on 70 dollars guys

Superb service & fantastic customer service!!! I came in today to try to see if they could fix the mysterious spots I had in the inside of my windshield. The gentleman that helped me was incredibly friendly, informative, & professional! He was unsure of what the spots were but used different solutions he thought would help the spots come off & eventually recommended using a razor blade. I was worried because I thought it would scratch my windshield! Little did I know, it would not… & the spots came off! Thank goodness!
I was so relieved I went to see them before anyone else because when I was calling for quotes at other places, they were recommending me to get my entire windshield replaced!

I should have just had my windshield replaced in the first place. Instead, I listened to the advice of The Crack Doctor to have my ~18-​inch crack in my windshield repaired for $ 100.
All was well, until 13 months after the repair, the crack grew (all at once) to run the entire length of my windshield. This fell outside of The Crack Doctor’s 60-​day warranty for an ~18 inch crack, so I had no choice but to have my windshield replaced by another company for $ 200.
Not happy. I can’t expect anyone to be a fortune-​teller, but still, The Crack Doctor’s faulty advice cost me $ 100, as in hindsight, I should have had the windshield replaced in the first place instead of opting for the repair.

This review is for the incredible customer service I received! I had a huge crack in my windshield that unfortunately was too large for repair. The owner was such a gentleman by personally making the phone call to who he recommended replace my windshield. Such manners and graciousness doesn’t exist too often, so I’m definitely impressed! Here’s to wishing you a lifetime of success!

A couple of weeks ago, I heard a loud pop while driving… lo and behold, a bulls-​eye wing rock chip in my car’s. windshield. The very next day, searched Unilocal… called this establishment. .Then I called another one in Graniteville (?), and he mentioned that they send folks to this guy for none windshield replacement. Okay fine. Came here and never looked back. Friendly, funny, knowledgeable father and son team who fixed my windshield almost back to darn near perfect. So far so good — even in this blazin heat, the patch job has been holding up beautifully. Oh and I didn’t pay a dime! He had me call my insurance on the spot, and they took care of it just like that. Cherry on top: Lifetime warranty on the work.

I got a chip on my windshield coming off the freeway :(If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Excellent customer service. Jean (i hope thats how its spelled) was awesome he fixed my windshield in about 45 mins he even told me how to file an insurance claim which resulted in no cost to me!!! Not even a deductible! How awesome! When I called he asked me details about my chip and even got me in the exact time I wanted! Score! It was close to work and home. We chatted while I waited so 45 mins felt like 15! Excellent honest and reliable place I would send any of my family or friends here in an instant :)

I called 30 minutes before I went in and they were able to fix my windshield chip in 10minutes. Geoff was patient and helped me get a hold of Geico so that I could make a claim. Customer service was fantastic! Their work comes w a warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.

Had a hairline crack near edge of windshield, and just yesterday it spread. I panicked and needed someone to stop the crack from spreading even more! I know so many people like the big companies like Safe Lite, but this place had really good reviews and vey satisfied customers. I gave them a call and left a message before they opened. Jeff called me back when he opened and was able to take my car within the hour, and the repair itself lasted 30 minutes including the dry/​set time. He was super friendly and easy to talk to. The shop was small and very personable. I will definitely be coming back for any more cracks in our windshields.

I was so bummed to get a nick in the windshield of my brand new, 2-​week old car! The small nick quickly spread into two 2 – 6 inch ‘runs’ spidering out of the original nick. Clearly, this sucker was going to keep spreading!
I went to two different places: Safelite and Bumper Docs (local in San Diego) for estimates. They both said it was too big to repair so the whole windshield needed to be replaced. Both quotes were over $ 500 b/​c the car has rain-​sensing wipers, etc. I figured third time was a charm so I went to The Crack Doctor for one last estimate.
The guy (forget his name) was knowledgable and honest. I told him what the others said and that I was contemplating taking it back to the dealer. He said… the factory seal on the windshield is irreplaceable. Even the dealer would send it out but there’s no guarantee there won’t be any leaks or wind noise. He rec’d fixing it — even though the crack would still be visible — the ‘stops’ he drilled into it would stop it from spreading.
His honesty, affordable $ 85 repair and 20 min fix while I waited was much appreciated! Although I hope to not have to see him again… IF I need windshield repairs, this is where I’ll go! I highly rec’d him!

I searched «Windshield Repair» on Unilocal and the Crack Doctor shows up. The reviews on them were pretty good but I wanted to see myself.

Tip:
–if you have full coverage (comprehensive at least) then the repair is FREE!
Conclusion: go to them for all your windshield repairs!
