Description

Specialties

The House of Yogi provides an exceptional Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga experience in a unique environment for modern yogis seeking a conscious lifestyle.

Choose from either of our spectacular studios in Point Loma/Sports Arena or in East Village. The House of Yogi is locally owned and founded on the principles of community with an emphasis in giving back to the community that supports us, with a percentage of our profits donated to charitable organizations in San Diego.

We believe the modern yogi has evolved to explore music, culture and fashion while still recognizing the importance and dedication of physical asana. We support local designers and artists by showcasing their works in our unique retail area and online for purchase.

The House of Yogi is a mildly heated studio, with temperatures ranging between 75 — 82 degrees so that the student can focus fully on their practice while building internal heat. Go deeper into your practice safely without the distraction of an overly eager heated environment.

Whether you are brand new to yoga or a long time student, our highly skilled and experienced teachers (link) lead a variety of classes of the highest standards in a safe, warm and inviting environment.

Support us, we support you.

Meet the Business Owner

Shaun J.

Business Owner

Born and raised in Durban, I grew up on the rugged tropical East coast of South Africa. As a teacher, I draw strongly on my love for music to inspire and guide students through class, having fun along the way and inviting you to connect with your body and soul, to learn more about yourself on your mat.

Drawing strongly on my Budokon roots, a living arts system that combines the beneficial aspects of martial arts, yoga and meditation, I enjoy challenging students with a vigorous flow, inviting students to safely confront their fears through inversions and arm balances. I believe firmly in balance in one’s life. Through the physical asana, we learn to challenge ourselves, let go of fear, to laugh, to live, and to be happy
