History

Established in 2014.

My Wife Dana and I (Anthony Lero), started this business to provide a transparent custom healthy meal service that could be counted on by not only members of the fitness community but essentially any human being that was not eating the right food for the human body. With my expertise in fitness and my wife’s natural abilities in the kitchen, we were able to perfect a product that not only was healthy and macro calculated but was also delicious and filling. Needless to say, the word spread fast, and in two years we went from prepping 25 meals for 6 people a week to averaging 1000 meals a week for 100’s of people throughout SD county. We continue to better ourselves everyday that passes and we stand by our product because it continues to prove over and over again that it is one of the best things you can put into your body and an easy tool to utilize when life gets crazy and you need a hand with eating right. I (Anthony)am originally from Missouri, joined the USN at 19 and got stationed in SD, CA. Finished my tour 2004 – 2008 and decided to stay in San Diego and make it my new home. Dana was born in Northern Italy, she grew up in different parts of Europe, finished her degree’s and eventually got a job with a cruise ship which brought her to the US. We met each other in Pacific Beach where she was living in 2009 and we haven’t been apart since then. She is my love and my motivation to succeed in creating a perfect life for our family. I couldn’t have asked for a better wife, woman, or business partner. She is the strongest person i know and without her this business would not exist.

I have got to give credit where credit is due. Your meals are the best I have ever had. I tried the sirloin, ground sirloin, chicken bites, and ground turkey. These were absolutely amazing. I came on vacation for a week to San Diego from San Jose and had the meals delivered to my hotel. Great customer service and always kept me informed of what was going on. I have tried different meal prep services in the Bay area, but you guys have been the best by far. You don’t even need to add the sauce to the meals because they have great flavor. The sides and veggies were also prepared perfectly. The meals were also weighed out correctly. Definitely would recommend your services.

As a bikini competitor on a specific meal plan and as a person who started tracking macros: The food has always been carefully measured out. I have tried other meal prep services before and the measurements weren’t always consistent.
I was recommended by a friend to give Lean Machine a try, and not only was I blown away by their precise measurements (because yes, I measured what I received when I got home) but by their customer service as well.
The food is OUTSTANDING. I feel no desire to drench hot sauce, bbq sauce, teriyaki sauce LOL over everything. I just eat it as is and am completely satisfied.

Love, love my prep meals. Always fresh and delicious. I don’t have time to cook, specially right after gym, so having meal waiting for me is very satisfying and very efficient. While I do cook, having meals made for me, saves me money on groceries. I’ve noticed myself wasting ingredients while cooking. Lean Machine is also very organized and makes it very easy for ordering and paying. Very simple response to a text twice a week will get your order in.

What an awesome concept that’s not just delicious, its convenient as well. I honestly hesitated at the first thought of out-​sourcing my meal prepping but as I looked more into it, it made life more simple and I was able to utilize my time for other enervating processes.
I want to think Anthony for showing me something that has truly saved my life and brought me endless amount of muscles (protein) and beautiful Bunz (girls) in my life. I had to say it!
I forgot to mention, the cook is a native of Italy, which makes the food more delicate.

I recently traveled to San Diego for a conference while in the middle of prep. Anyone who travels during prep knows how difficult it can be but The Lean Machine made it completely easy. I was able to customize all 16 of my meals and they were delivered on time with excellent communication from Anthony the owner throughout the ordering/​delivery process. The most important factor however is how the food tastes and let me tell you it was delicious! I ended up eating most of my meals cold because I was in conference/​at the hotel without access to a microwave and they were still REALLY good. Can’t say enough nice things about the company. Great food and price and will definitely be using them again whether on prep or not when I travel out to San Diego.

I cant be any happier with TLM! I’ve been ordering my meals weekly with them and I absolutely love it. I place always my order on Friday for the entire week and pick them up twice so I can have the food always super fresh! The food tastes great and if you’re following a meal plan, thats the way to go. My times is very limited and meal prep as everyone knows is very timing consuming. Thanks Anthony for the great work, you guys rock. Remember, no one can out train a bad diet! Dont waste your time with shitty supplements or magic diets, get a real meal plan, eat quality food and the results will follow! :)

As a professional in the fitness industry I know how the importance of nutrition and diet. However, with also working full time, coaching and taking care of my own training I was losing sight of that.
That’s where Lean Machine came in. Anthony and Matt were incredibly responsive and very helpful with my questions.
Their food is ALWAYS amazing and, compared to other food service places, very reasonably priced. To top it off their site also includes calories and macro information, so no more guess work!
The fish doesn’t reek of fish, the ground meat is always tender and the shredded chicken is seasoned perfect.
I couldn’t be happier that I found this place to take care of all my nutrition needs. So much so that I personally endorse and recommend it to all the members and clients I train!

Anthony and company have a great thing going here. I wish we had something like this in the Bay Area. I’ve got a former player who is a freshman playing softball at UCSD and is used to eating super healthy. College dining was not doing it for her and her body wasn’t used to it. Trying to send her care packages wasn’t going to help so I went online and found Lean Machine. She just got her first delivery today and her exact words were, «I’m in heaven! It’s just how my mom cooks for me at home.»
Ordering from Lean Machine will be regular thing from now on.

So many choices!
Between work, gym and weekly shopping+meal prep I have lost quality time with my family over the last ten years.
I ordered 24 meals online for the first time, and was worried. I am very careful with measuring and weighing and preparing food so my family & I eat healthy meals during my work week.
I was pleasantly surprised & relieved when I picked up the order and checked each of the containers.
PERFECT! Healthy and delicious!
I have so much extra time this week to spend with my family and I even have time to call long distance family.

I have been ordering meals from The Lean Machine for several weeks now. It is the perfect solution for eating healthy even with a busy schedule. The meals are really flavorful and always fresh. I haven’t gotten «bored» because you can mix and match different options (various options for protein, vegetables, carbs, sides and sauces). They’re affordable too, especially when you consider the time and effort you save with shopping, cooking, and cleaning. The owners are really responsive and always confirm the logistics for ordering/​delivery/​pickup.
