I dig the Chicken Caesar pita quite a bit. Chicken’s grilled to order, the veggies always taste fresh to me, and the sauce is good. My only complaints are that occasionally I’ll snag a pita that’s basically falling apart by the time I get halfway through, but… it IS pita bread, which isn’t super sturdy to begin with. Other complaint is that the employees here generally aren’t that warm and inviting.

In theory this place is a good idea-back in the day I used to go crazy for this build your own pita concept. But then also back in the day, they seemed to have fresher ingredients and better service. This last weekend, I went back to this location for a first time in a while and I felt like the ladies working there barely acknowledged your existence, were inefficient in processing orders and really were kind of unpleasant. The pita itself was disappointing as compared to the ones I remember a few years ago. The pita fell apart, the tomatoes were mealy and they were pretty stingy with the good veggies like the peppers and mushrooms. This was 4 stars in my book back in 2007 – 2008 but I don’t really feel the need to ever come here again.

I LOVE pita pit! The location at SDSU I’d prefer over the PB one. SDSU has better daily and weekly deals and pb doesn’t have any. The associates at the pb location do not speak English. But other than all of the above I still love the food.

First time to this place, like all the places we visit. Though sometimes well frequent ones more often then the other when the place leaves our taste buds asking for more. This place was not a place. Don’t get me wrong the food was fresh and made to order. It just reminded me of Subway to much. Asking me what I want on it. Which is not a good thing for me, to many choices means were going to be in line for a long time. The staff was friendly, especially when we went to sit down and they had to shout across the joint what we wanted on them. LOL Our bad! But if Subway is your thing then this is a place for you minus the bread.

I came in and was looking at the menu for a while and couldn’t think of what to get and the employee stopped the prep work he was doing and asked me what my favorite types of foods are and from what I told him he came up with a couple different options to order. I took his Advise and I ordered something he suggested and it was absolutely awesome. i thought it was really nice that instead of me just randomly ordering something, he took the time to ask me what i wanted in a meal. overall it was a great experience. Please keep up the Hard Work Pita Pit Employees.

Really fresh & delicious. You can see where they make the food– the food station as well as the grill and it’s always very clean. Lots of options. Friendly people. Good prices.

I’ve truly come to enjoy this sandwich shop for all the wonderful flavors it provided wrapped in a pita. The last two times we had lunch here the sandwiches were very tasty. I ordered a chicken Greek, and the g/f had the Greek lamb/beef. Those pita’s were filled with meat, veggies, feta cheese, hummus, grilled to perfection. Can’t wait to ride down to PB and grab another delicious sandwich. Just a side note, we had a pita pit in Riverside but it closed, what a waste.

I enjoy a chicken pita sandwich from time to time, and when a certain sushi place across the street had a prohibitively long line to get in, my sis and I took the plunge and tried The Pita Pit instead. At first I was confused by the set-up, which has elements of a sub sandwich joint, but I was able to easily order what I wanted. I tried the California Chicken Club Pita or whatever it’s called, with no mushrooms. I just don’t do fungus. The dude at the register was probably the manager or owner, and there was another dude making the pita who asked what I wanted on it. Both were courteous and attentive to what I wanted. Being unable to resist Doritos and a root beer, I shamefully made my meal a combo. Le sigh. The sandwich was nommin, a good harmony of flavors that didn’t feel bad in my stomach and the price was what I would expect to pay for Greek food in this setting. I will say it wasn’t my favorite chicken pita sandwich ever, but the standard for that was set ridiculously high a long time ago in a galaxy about 10 – 20 minutes away.

You think this is going to be one thing, and then you are reminded what this place is: College food. I used to eat here during college and I end up coming here when we are at the beach and we don’t want mexican or burgers. This place is ok. It’s not amazing, nor would I come out of my way to come here. We just end up here. — Greek Wrap: It’s like a gyro, but the meat isn’t like as tasty as the ones you would get for another gyro shop. Also, they don’t warm up the pita… so it’s usually meh. — Chicken Crave: It’s alright too. Basic chicken wrap sandwich with dry chicken breast and whatever veggies you want. This place is good if you want something non-greasy and not too heavy. However, if you look at the nutrional value, you may be better off eating at a taco joint! Wowsers. some of those pita sammys pack a ton of calories!

I am a huge fan of the Pita Pit as I frequent the Carlsbad location. Coming here was a pretty big disappointment. The ingredients were not fresh when I was there. I ate about half of my pita and had enough.

Wow… so much for you Pita Pit! I live literally right on the edge of PB, like 2.7 miles away from Pita Pit to be exact. I called and placed my order and they took my address down and told me my delivery would be here in 30 mins or so. They made my food, charged my credit card and then called me to tell me that they don’t deliver to me because its too far. TOOFAR?!? SERIOUSLY?!? So, because I live«too far away» they told me they were cancelling my order. Awesome. Well its really too bad for them, because they just lost what could’ve been a fairly regular customer. My husband and I share a car so when he takes it to work, and I have no food in the house, I usually order delivery. Vila Deli(4 miles from my house) delivers to me so I guess Ill be ordering from them instead. And when I do get to use the car, Ill go elsewhere for pitas… sorry.

I had my FIRST Pita Pit experience this past weekend while on a little visit to San Diego. I was excited because I had heard this place was very good. I was also thrilled as it has late night hours, and to me, that’s always a HUGE plus. As we drove down Mission in Pacific Beach my eyes were darting everywhere because it was my FIRST time there! I was looking at all of the bars and the people out, all of the stores in awe. It was pretty awesome seeing ANOTHER interesting and cool place in California. We had a bit of trouble finding Pita Pit. It’s totally upstaged by Fat Burger. So if you’re looking, it’s LITERALLY next to Fat Burger, but the sign isn’t as obvious, so it can be tricky. The inside is kind of similar to a Jersey Mike’s Sub place. Simple, clean and kind of Toon Townish looking. Bright colors, and FUN. The employees were young, college looking students and very nice. There were SO many items to choose from on the menu. I had the impression this place was Mediterranean, but it had SO many more items on the menu, I would hate to classify it as just that. Talk about choices, I was almost overwhelmed, but CHOICES are good. I went with the«Greek’ which was a Gyro style Pita Sandwich filled with feta, tzatziki, red onions, pepperoncini, spinach, and olives. They REALLY stuff your pita. I liked that they weren’t trying to be greedy with the ingredients. I also liked how they worked. There were like four of them working on one grill and they did it so well. It was almost like it was choreographed. One moved to the right and the other kind of went around him and they didn’t collide! haha it was cool and funny. The sandwich was VERY yummy EXCEPT, I think the pepperoncini overpowered MANY of the veggies. I could hardly enjoy the fusion of flavors as the pepperoncini is SO strong and tangy. I love it in sandwiches but I wouldn’t put it in a GYRO. I’m more of a traditional GYRO person, I dig the cucumber, onions, lettuce, kalamata olives and tzatziki. It always complements the salty lamb and beef gyro meat so well. In this case, the pepperoncini were just TOO much. BF ordered a Philly cheese steak but he said he hadn’t been to Pita Pit in So long that he forgot«how to order» and didn’t include the«secret/special sauce» which he said is a MUST. I do have to give them a good rating because the food was fresh, it was much healthier than going to McDonald’s or Jack in the Box and it was DEFINITELY a change from the usual«let’s get something quick okay Subway» routine that we’ve TRAGICALLY fallen into as of late :( I’m excited to try something different as there are SO many menu variations, it seems like you could seriously eat there everyday and have something COMPLETELY different. Also, a place that has hummus and Mediterranean ingredients is PROBABLY okay in my book. :)

For a fresh food fix and healthy eats, head on over to Pita Pit. Healthier and probably more satisfying than that burger you’re craving, Pita Pit’s got friendly employees serving fresh food and is open late. So you can calm that late night hunger with something fresh and healthy. My favorite? Chicken Slouvaki. Tasty and fresh, it always hits the spot.

First review of the new year! Its been over SEVEN months since my last review and surprisingly enough… Pita Pit is still the damn bomb! Bfs little brother was in town keeping me company and we were having trouble deciding where to eat and all of a sudden, I had an ‘ah ha’ moment and decided on Pita Pit. After driving around for 15 damn minutes for the first time evr trying to find a parking spot, we finally found on and went inside. Typical chicken caesar for me. This day i got a little crazy and had them add extra bacon. Little brother got a philly steak pita. When he was picking his vegetables to go inside and decided on green pepper and onion, they threw it on the grill for him and melted the cheese on top of his steak on there also. Very clever! Im not usually one for philly steak anything but this was really good. Top everything off with salt and vinegar chips and a cherry Coke and youve got yourself a badass lunch. Just…love it.

Soooo yummy. What I appreciate the most about Pita Pit is that you always know what you’re going to get. The staff here have consistency down to a science, and consistency is of the utmost importance to me when dining at restaurants of any price point. The line here can be nonexistent or monstrous, but to me Pita Pit is always worth the wait. On the downside, I feel as though the pitas end up being a little pricey. For the same price as 2 hearty pitas($ 16 – 18) my boyfriend and I could grab a lot more food at a Happy Hour somewhere. Pita Pit has never failed me! I always look forward to a meal here.

I love this place. They def hook it up with super fat pitas and stuff it so big that your mouth barely has room to fit correctly for each bite you take. I always get the gyro one and always ask the staff to make it as big as possible, haha. They make it happen and will put whatever I ask into it, no questions asked. Get it stuffed with loads of veggies that can possibly be placed in and also ask for extra meat, they will usually hook it up, never had a problem with it.
