The very best! I worked with Jeanna and Matthew on my wedding in July and could not be happier. They both went above and beyond to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. The chicken pot pie appetizers are to die for. My husband still talks about them. The mac and cheese is out of this world. Their staff was wonderful they were polite, speedy with taking away dishes, and worked hard.

I hosted a Holiday Open House in December.
I truly didn’t know where to begin. I contacted Jeanna from The Wild Thyme and all my concerns were gone .
From menu planning to presentation to cleaning up I can’t stop raving about this company .
The staff at my event were totally professional and truly were all exceptional. The food was unbelievable and the presentation was WOW.
We receive so many compliments from our friends.
I hope to find a reason to host another event so I can have TWTC cater it again.

Wild Thyme provided catering for our family reunion of 20 people. We had a buffet dinner. The quality, quantity and variety of the food was very good. Wild Thyme was very cooperative and helpful in working with us on our menu. The food was ready ahead of time and was nicely presented. I was impressed with the quality and variety of the food, from hors d’oeuvres to dessert. Most of our guests had seconds, and there was still plenty of food left over. I would definitely use Wild Thyme again.

Wild Thyme catered my wedding last Saturday, 11/​14/​2015 at the Ultimate Skybox. We worked closely with Jeanna Grant to create a menu that suited our personal and even cultural tastes (as my family is from India). Jeanna was so helpful throughout the planning process and even provided a cake stand for the wedding cake that we ordered from a different company.
We had a «moving style reception», with a cocktail hour and then 3 food stations for dinner.
Cocktail hour appetizers were tray-​passed:
1) carmelized pear and brie quesadilla
2) gorgonzola and walnut stuffed red potatoes
3) jumbo lump crab cakes
4) Moroccan spiced lamb lollipops
Our dinner stations were:
1) chef-​prepared wild mushroom risotto or rock shrimp risotto (or both!) served with a salad on the side
2) braised short rib with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts
3) Indian food station serving chicken tikka masala, dal, vegetarian samosas, and raita
We received so many compliments from our guests about the food. Some were so impressed with the quality and variety that they thought there were multiple caterers! Excellent job, even with the «ethnic» Indian food. Jeanna worked with me to try to make it as authentic as possible in terms of spice level/​heat (while still making it palatable for all tastes).
I highly recommend The Wild Thyme Company for any catering needs. Superb professionalism and service, plus very tasty food!

4 ½ stars so leaned toward a 5. Great food, good service. Had a bit of a miscommunication on table count but worked it out quickly. Definitely recommend.

Wild Thyme did the catering for our wedding, and it was out of this world! We have already gotten so many complements on it! They were so easy to work with, and we ended up picking out some delicious stations — pasta, tacos and ceviche, and a spectacular meat carving station! All were delicious. They also went above and beyond with our appetizers, which were brie and pear quesadillas, chicken with tzatziki, ahi cups, and of course little grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup shooters. Everything was wonderful, and we would recommend them in a heartbeat!

So my mother in law hired this catering company many times in the past (4years ago they were amazing!) and so insisted recently that they cater our August 1^st ‘rustic elegance’ backyard wedding … to say we were disappointed would quite the euphemism. Not only was Jenna never able to call me back before the wedding to touch base on things; but on our wedding day the general service of the cocktail servers and the random ‘managing’ guy was just not up to par for what was expected from past experiences or what was paid. My main warning to anyone considering using them for your event would be the following two key points (among other negatives that I simply don’t have time to list):
1) The ‘bartender’ was out of control. He was serving beer and wine ONLY, first of all-​and refused to open the bar at the requested time and even refused the GROOM (at our own family’s home) a drink before the ceremony. Once he finally «opened» OUR BAR he carded/​refused our family and friends during the entire wedding (keep in mind this was an adult only event from 6−10pm) his manager finally sent him home (when it was already past 9), unfortunately Multiple guests told me throughout the night and since then that their encounters with him were TERRIBLE… main adjectives being prick, rude, aggressive Etc. He wasted two of our kegs by switching them way too early and when we personally had to send one of our own guests to get another keg, he couldn’t freaking tap it right at all — it poured foam all night and was full the morning after…
2) Secondly would be in regards to the food– too many people have told me there was simply not enough food (which is surprising at $ 70+ per person) but the biggest issue is that we had many people get sick after consuming some of the ‘main food’ (the groom and I missed cocktail hour during pics)… But during dinner we had a meat carving station that was so bloody — I’m convinced those who braved it made many of them sick, including my husband!!! Let me stress the fact that he (along with at least 5 other guests @ our wedding during same time) got physically ill for over an hour, immediately after eating food. I’d love to contribute anyone’s illness to drinking but, I know for a fact my husband and I were far TOO sober all night… but also as I mentioned our backyard beer and wine bar was not even opened until over an hour after specifically requested by the bride and groom. It’s also seems unlikely that based on how many people did NOT get drinks from the above mentioned bartender that anyone was ill @ 9pm from over-​drinking…
Needless to say, if you want top notch catering, I’d highly recommend that you spend your good money elsewhere. I know this company used to be awesome but I wouldn’t risk having your outcome be anything close to ours.

Wild Thyme is rock solid. Catered our wedding for 185 guests on the 4^th of July. This was at our home on a major holiday, so the logistics were challenging. They set up a kitchen with 14 staff /​bartenders /​servers in our garage, and made it all look easy. Lots of great items on our menu but the short ribs with mashed potatoes and asparagus was my personal fave.
Our primary contact was Coco, who I thought was just our sales rep, but she spent the whole of 4^th of July at our party to make sure it came off without a hitch. Prices were competitive, though we decided to rent our own glassware, tables, and linens from a company called K&J Party Rentals, which saved us about $ 2000 relative to the cost u of using Wild Thyme’s preferred party supply vendor (Raphael’s). I’m sure Raphael’s would have been fine but we spent the extra cash on more apps and a little wine.
Great work Coco and team — hope you had as much fun as we did!

Wild Thyme catered our wedding in June of 2015. Jeanna did an amazing job of making sure that the menu and details were exactly what we wanted. We actually had two tastings with them to make sure the menu was perfect, and it definitely was.
Stations
Our reception was done in a moving style, so we had several action stations. This means that we had one area where there was a pasta bar, another area for a salad station, and a third area for short ribs and mashed potatoes. Each station was decorated perfectly by Wild Thyme and matched the style of our venue.
Food
Everything from the appetizers to the dinner was delicious. The sauces used were amazing. All night long, we had guests gushing over the short ribs and the mashed potatoes. The gnocchi pasta was unique and delicious. The salad was very fresh. The chicken was moist and the sauces they used were delicious. One of our guests hosts a lot of catered events and she told us this was the best meal she’d had at an event.
Staff
Everyone working our event was delightful! They were dressed professionally and their uniforms looked new. We’ve been to weddings where the servers are wearing faded blacks slacks, but the Wild Thyme staff looked very sharp! The bartenders made it a point to know what the wedding party and our parents were drinking. They would have our drinks on hand at the other end of the bar as soon as they saw us walking up.
I would highly recommend working with Wild Thyme for any event! Jeanna is so kind and really cares about giving her clients the highest quality food and service. Overall, I’ll definitely be using Wild Thyme for our next catered event.

The Wild Thyme catered our wedding April 3, 2015, and I will forever recommend them to everyone! Especially our amazing rep– Kate Hendricks! Kate is hands down the most amazing, patient, honest person in the world. She went above and beyond to help us with our menu, and rentals. She was full of amazing ideas and was always there to help! The pricing was amazing considering the quality of food and the presentation! We went with a Spanish theme, and had Steak and Chicken tacos, Chili Verde Pork Belly and Chicken Mole. For dessert we had cupcakes! Churro, Strawberry and a Chocolate Bourbon. To this day, we still get compliments on how amazing our food was. I would hire Kate and The Wild Thyme again in a heartbeat, between the service, and food, everything was absolutely perfect!

Wild Thyme catered my wedding in May 2015 and I was super impressed. I will hire them again any day. As I was first looking at caters and calling around, Wild Thyme was the only one where a live person answered the phone right away and I was able to talk to someone. Kate Hendricks was great. Their prices were really good, especially considering the quality of food and the level of service they offer. They did not charge a cake cutting fee, which was a big plus. And even though we had to provide our own alcohol, they let us drop off all the alcohol at their warehouse the week before the wedding, so they could chill it and transport it all.
Most important, the food. We still get compliments from our guests that it was the best wedding food they’d had. We had on our menu the braised short ribs, cucumber dill salmon, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted veggies and gnocchi for vegetarians. It was all superb. We had tried the mac and cheese during our tasting and ended up taking it off the menu. Wasn’t as good as the rest of the dishes, and honestly we didn’t need it. The food is already so rich.
The customer service, professionalism, food and cost all make Wild Thyme my go to caterer now.

Best catering company hands down! We had the best experience and food at our wedding. We were extremely happy and felt that we got our money’s worth. The entire process is noteworthy as they were extremely accommodating and understood our wants and needs. They did not charge for tastings which other companies do and is a huge turn off! We had two tastings actually. We felt very comfortable and that is really important in the wedding planning process!

–green salad with best salad dressing ever

I usually wait until my experience with a company is over before I write a review. I’m making an exception here. My wedding is still almost 6 months away. We have been working with Jeanna at The Wild Thyme Company for approximately 4 months. Jeanna, the chefs and everyone else we have dealt with at this company have been amazing. They are bending over backwards to help us with the planning of our wedding. They have offered to help us with things that having nothing to do with catering. Jeanna is all about making our day everything we want it to be. I haven’t even mentioned the food yet… INCREDIBLE! We had a very difficult time narrowing down our menu because everything we tasted was so delicious. We told them what we wanted and they made it all happen.
I will follow up with this review after our big day. I have no doubt that Jeanna and her whole team will will be getting another great review.

We use Wild Thyme at UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering for a regular bi-​weekly catering event for 100 working professional students for almost a year now.
The food is great — the service (Trent) is even better! I can’t say enough good things about them. They provide us with healthy, delicious, and beautifully prepared meals at a very reasonable cost. (We are a public university after all!)
We have folks who have allergies, are vegetarians, and frankly are just plain picky!
Since 2011 we have tried 5 different caterers. The first month or two the food and service is great… then the quality declines.
I waited almost a year before writing a review for Wild Thyme. I can say that they constantly astound us with the delicious and beautiful meals they serve us. Their chefs do a great job of coming up with new meals even after 11 months. (Just last week they made the most delicious paella!)
All of the servers we have had are great — but I have to say, our «regular» guy, Trent, is just the best!

We just hosted a Holiday Soirée at our house last weekend and had Wild Thyme provide the food and bartender service (this is the 2^nd time we’ve had them for a house party). The food and service were impeccable again! Trent was our caterer and Brad was our bartender. Trent did a phenomenal job setting up the food and décor. He was equally attentive with putting away food in a manner that allowed the party to continue seamlessly. The décor was perfect — festive and beautifully laid out with light touches of holiday decorations. Very tasteful. The service was outstanding. All our guests also raved about Brad’s service. He was very fun and attentive with our guests needs and created cocktails for every taste. More than 10 guests contacted us the next day to let us know that they were highly impressed with the food, drink, and entertainment (we had the UCSD a capella group perform). As such, I will ALWAYS recommend Wild Thyme over all other local catering companies. They truly are the best — for even the most discerning guests. Lastly, Jeanna was again extremely professional and made everything run very smoothly. I went with her first recommendation for the menu, which was perfect. Thanks again Wild Thyme!

Seriously so thankful for Wild Thyme! We decided to have a company party for Thanksgiving last second and had heard only great things about this company! We got in touch with Dasiy, who is excellent! Above par response rate and customer service. Not to mention the food is incredible. Trent (the delivery) was also extremely helpful and prompt. Will definitely use their services again. Props!

Wild Thyme catered our wedding a few weeks ago and I am completely pleased and satisfied with the service and the food they provided! I worked with Jeanna and she did a great job with helping us design a menu that worked for our budget. I changed the menu around quite a few times and she was also so willing to help. We did a moving cocktail style reception so we had passed hors d’oeuvres and stations. The sliders were a hit, so many of our guests raved about them! The serving staff and bartenders were very professional as well! I would definitely use Wild Thyme again!

Wild thyme catered our wedding in 2012 and provided top notch service and food.
The food: We had buffet style and the food was so good there wasn’t any left for leftovers (darn it)! My absolute favorite was the Cabernet braised short ribs. Our reception apps were a hit as well, Kobe beef sliders, Brie and pear quesadilla, and coconut shrimp. The mini cup cakes were the best I’ve had and devoured by all (Coconut, Chocolate with salted buttercream frosting, Vanilla with lemon buttercream frosting, Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting).
The service: Stacy Egusa was amazing to work with. Our wedding site (SD Rowing Club) was a «do it yourself venue» with no planner and Stacy was extremely accessible and helped us with every detail of our wedding day such as coordinating table/​lighting rentals and planning the itinerary for the evening. The catering staff were friendly and professional.
The bar: We also hired bar service through Wild Thyme and they helped us create two custom cocktails which were amazing (Rum Punch and a strawberry lemonade Vodka).
The wedding day: Wild Thyme delivered as planned and were a major contributor to our wonderful day! I highly recommend them for any event and absolutely recommend Stacy Egusa.

Wild Thyme Catering recently catered an event I was at and it was so awesome that I had to ask what company was doing the event. The whole staff was professional, friendly, and helpful but Jessi was absolutely the best. Had an issue with my dish and she immediately worked with the team to resolve. Kudos to Jessi and the whole team. Awesome work.

Working for Unilocal is an interesting job and everyday is a bit different, so when I received a call from HQ in San Francisco to pull off the impossible my answer was simple… «Yes, I can do it!»
I took a look at the amount of work that I had to do and describing it as daunting does not even begin to sum it up. Basically I had to pull off a job that typically takes six weeks in only two so there was no room for error.
Landing a solid caterer was one of the top priorities so I turned to Unilocal for answers which ultimately lead me to The Wild Thyme Company. My call was answered by Megan who was very pleasant and instantly put me at ease. I had no idea what I wanted, how much food I needed and I had to stick to a budget. Megan was very knowledgeable with the menu and walked me through several different options that would be presented on a serve yourself station. I picked out a few items that sounded delicious and Megan had an estimate sent to me via email in about 20 minutes that perfectly matched my budget. Very professional yet candid and relaxing all in one. My stress level was on the decline and I felt confident that I had selected the right caterer who was going to deliver a fantastic product.
Fast forward to the day of the event…
Wild Thyme showed up exactly on time and only asked a few simple questions. Like a chicken with my head cut off I basically pointed and told them where to set up and then took off the other direction. That was it! I never had to check on them and they had everything that they needed to set up a truly impressive display of food that tasted even better than it looked. The guests absolutely loved the food and the event was a huge success.
