Description

Specialties

La Strada’s prime location at the crossing of Fifth Avenue and G Street makes it a place to see and be seen, with patio dining and walls of windows facing the hippest corner in the Gaslamp. A warm interior suggestive of an Italian villa extends to an open kitchen where award-winning Tuscan specialties are prepared. Dishes such as the Pollo Toscano, chicken breast stuffed with asparagus, mozzarella cheese, and prosciutto di Parma, that put La Strada in the top ten of Italian restaurants in the U.S. Add to that an excellent selection of Italian wines, moderate prices, and an enthusiastic staff, and it’s easy to see why La Strada won Lamplighter’s Best Italian Restaurant and Best Dessert Downtown in 2008, and Best Fine Dining in the Gaslamp in 2004.

La Strada is open seven days a week and offers lunch, early dinner and happy hour specials which you can find at www.trattorialastrada.com!

History

Established in 1991.

The tradition began in 1991 when Brothers Carlo and Antonio Giovannini opened Trattoria La Strada, utilizing their collective knowledge of running exclusive fine dining restaurants. They combined fifty years of experience to design an elegant and upscale interior and to develop an authentic Tuscan restaurant. Trattoria La Strada has, since its origin been identified as the finest authentic Italian restaurant in the Gaslamp District of San Diego.
