Worst fish tacos I’ve ever had. And being from the east coast, that is saying something

Every beer was out or had tap issues. Service was on par for a bar located in a k-​mart.

Great atmosphere! Went here after the rock n roll marathon! Food and vibes were excellent!

Seems like this place has gone completely downhill. Stopped in one Sunday afternoon and not only was the bartender rude, our server only came by once. I would definitely never go back.

Great tap list for local brews and big venue. We went a little early so didn’t get a good take on the vibe, passed it later in the night and it was packed so no question it’s a big draw. Great place for watching sports tons of flat screens. We got the nachos, eh they were loaded but no real flavor other than the jalapeños. Great location though in the heart of Gas lamp district.

Awesome wings. Big with flavorful sauces. Come at happy hour for double! Ask for sauce on the side instead of on the wings to try them all. The whisky girl sauce has a nice bite.

This review is only based on the brunch they serve, not the bar/​nightlife scene. We came here after the Rock n Roll ½ marathon because they offered a discount on brunch. The hot mama sliders were amazing! Perfect amount of spice with the egg and avocado, so good! Bottomless mimosas were delicious and the server kept them coming. Very happy with our experience, I would go back if we were in downtown area for brunch.

Crap food and bartendress way more interested in her friends than bringing salt or the bill. I had to goto the end of the bar she was gabbing at for both,

Went here once in the day time and once at night.
Day time: Got their blue cheese bacon burger after trying to find our waiter for over half an hour. We got seated and she asked us if we were ready to order about 1 minute later. We asked for a few more minutes and she gave us about 40 more minutes to decide. Geez, how courteous of her –_​_​-​. It was not packed at all so she was not swamped either. After sitting aimlessly and finally ordering, we waited for another 20 minutes for our food. The burger, which I asked to be cooked medium, was definitely hovering on the medium well/​well done border. It was way dryer than it should’ve been but I was so hungry at that point that I was not going to go through the waiting game again to get a redo. The french fries came out soggy as well and when we asked for ranch, our waiter player crouching tiger hidden dragon with us and went MIA again… We ended up having to ask a second person who brought it out immediately. To make things worst, the live band that played at the time was excruciating loud and it was just excruciating music to listen to in general.
Night time: The nightlife is better here. This place gets super packed so you will bump into people everywhere while dancing — but at least it’s popping and the energy is great. Full bar too with lots of drink options. They also play a lot of throwback songs from my childhood so that was a definite plus. Seating is not great but if you go to the back room away from the action, there is usually open booths even on a busy night.
Bottom line: Dancing and drinking can be fun here, the food and the staff sucks.

Oh thank God! If it wasn’t for Anissa this Sunday brunch could have been a sad day. Sat around for awhile looking at blank space when this goddess showed up with Pink Ladies in her hand. She poured, I drank, we laughed. My cup was never empty. Exceptional customer service.
I will also add that info and karaōke was a nice add on to a normal brunch.

The food, atmosphere, and other wait staff (besides Jake) make this place 3 stars.

Definitely enjoyed my time spent here at Whiskey girl. We came in on a Sunday during the morning football games and it was already super packed!
We all ordered the pink bottomless mimosa deal and a shot of jameson whiskey each (had to drink whiskey at whiskey girl duh)
Server was so attentive and made sure all of our mimosas were full at all times.
Enjoyed our morning visit here so much we came back at night to grab a quick drink and the guy playing live music gave me a free beer for knowing the lyrics to «Creep» by raidohead haha fun times at this bar!

When a beer spilled on our table, the waitress (Asian, blueish hair) came over to wipe it up and ended up intentionally wiping the entire pool of beer onto the floor. It splashed onto my boyfriend’s shoes. I really don’t know why she would wipe the beer onto the floor instead of just soaking it up when it was on the table so maybe our shoes would have been spared.
They kinda did a weird thing when we ordered too. We were not at the bar, we were seated at a table. We told the waitress we wanted to pay cash and she said she had to take a card to keep the tab open, or else what? We would have to pay cash before we even saw our beers? Weird. Really a great experience as a customer being treated like we were going to scam them. Maybe there is some technicality I don’t understand.
They like physically stopped us at the door to id us. The bouncer held onto my id for a long time as if he was suspicious or, I’m assuming, bored. I can understand checking ids on a busy night where the place is packed, but is it really necessary to check ids at the door when there are barely twenty people in the bar? Felt like a power trip on the bouncers part and was pretty invasive.
The musical guest, I believe was named kova, sounded good at first but I realized, as we sat there, his special talent was to make every song in the world sound exactly the same with his raspy rendition of every. Single. Song. He hit a few sour notes as well. Raspy doesn’t make everything sound good.
Beer was. Um. Beer.

I understand why they received 3 stars, the staff was great but the selection and food was just OK, it wasn’t anything more than that, if you are someone who enjoys the regular option of beers, this is your kind if place, I personally enjoy local beers with a full stocked bar with it.
they’re Tacos might of been on the happy hour menu but weren’t exactly worth anything.

I celebrated my 40^th Birthday last night at Whiskey Girl. From the start to finish the manager, waitress and security took amazing care of us and without any extra money required, allowed us to reserve a main table and allowed my sister to decorate it freely. The manager continually checked on me and even gave me a birthday crown and boa. The food and drinks were good (love that they have Tator tots as an option) The vibe was spot on as well as the music/​videos. Us oldies like the 90’s R/​B and Rap with the mixture of current hits. All 25 of us had a blast!
Thank you to the Whiskey Girl for allowing me to start 40 with a bang!

This place is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to go out downtown. It’s a large venue, so it quickly turns into a massive dance floor. Every time I’ve been the music is a mix between hip hop and 90’s/early 2000’s throwbacks. The crowd is always fun and ready to have a good time. The staff is friendly and because there are two bars, it makes it easy to get a drink. There are plenty of TVs if you are trying to watch a game and if you are there on a Sunday there is beer pong.
In summary, this a fun place! If you are trying to stay away from the club scene but still want to dance, try this place out.

Wow! I’m actually surprised I have not written a review on Whiskey Girls before! Here is goes…
I am such a Sunday funday person! This place is one of of my top 5 places in San Diego to go for bottomless mimosas! $ 10 from 10am — 2pm. Grapefruit juice and champagne… the pink ladies! Haha. They go down pretty smooth and don’t even think about finishing your glass… they will be right around to fill it up!
Sunday funday is the best day at whiskey girls!

Whiskey Girl is a great bar! I came here several times to watch a football game and to enjoy some drinks with friends at night. If you are looking for good music with a good crowd then this is the place for you (Night Times). The environment is very energetic and a perfect place to hang out with friends. The music can be on the loud side but thats whats expected for such a fun environment. If you are single and looking to meet people then this is the bar for you (Come around 11:30pm). It should be noted that if you come in the day times it is a great sports bar. I would recommend this bar to anyone looking for a good sports bar.
I would rate Whiskey Girl as follows: Food is 3.5 Stars, Atmosphere is 4 Stars and Price is 4 Stars.

It was my 1^st time here but here were a few highlights:
+LIVE BAND
Sometimes it gets tiring hearing AT40 over & over in the car & in every restaurant & gas station you go to. The band was playing some throwback Zac Brown Band & other great Country hits! How refreshing!
+FREE APPS
Trays of complimentary bites were getting around (though they were hard to come by) and I tried a pineapple salmon hors d’oeurve which was pretty tasty, esp for a bar! Salmon? Wow! Impressive.
+FREE DRINKS
Ummmm…yes. No real need for a description here, but chardonnay, beers, jack daniels, fireball whiskey, jagermeister, bulleit bourbon, don julio silver, jack honey, ketel one vodka, etc. etc. Generous bartenders too!
+ATMOSPHERE
Wow! Loved projected banners, the tshirts, etc. So cute! Made all us locals feel like VIPs! There was a photobooth as well as a photobooth/​karaōke area where I even made a new Russian friend named Olga. Yay!
Plenty of room and seats for everyone. Though we had to wait about 20 min to get in, it was totally worth it! Loved the party & glad I got to go! I had a positive experience there & will def return!

Whiskey Girl is a great bar to go to downtown. If you aren’t into the clubs, this is your spot. It’s casual, spacious for dancing and usually free cover. The DJ plays top 40 and plays the music video along with it on their tvs.
Came here last night for their 10 year anniversary party. Lots of people came out. The hosted bar and free appetizers was a nice incentive! I didn’t get around to the trays of food being passed around so I ordered some nachos. They were decent. It had shredded chicken piled on top, melted cheese, jalapeños and pico de gallo. It had a scoop of sour cream on top. Could’ve used more sour cream but it did the job.

A group of us ate here on Monday night August 17^th. We picked this place because it could accommodate a large group at a single table. We were seated 5 minutes before the end of happy hour and asked if we could order our first drink at happy hour price. The waitress rolled her eyes at us and said someone would be back. We were a group of 13 so I guess it appeared to be a daunting task, considering 12 guys wanted beer and I wanted a glass of wine I could see her trepidation. (Sarcasm)
15 min later we placed our order for drinks. 20 min after that they arrived. We got wise to this and started ordering our next round as soon as a round arrived. A few people realized you could go to the bar and order faster than wait at the table. At this point we looked around saw our waitress was the only person working this side of the house and the front patio. Not cool, she was swamped. Eventually it got around to ordering our meals. We waited another 55 min before getting our meals (which were burgers or salads except for my meal).
So my meal… or the kids meal as the guys all teased, was chicken tenders. My meal was forgotten and served 10 min after the last burger. When you see the pic you’ll appreciate my disappointment. They were inedible.
This has been a 2+ hour experience at this point and part of our group was having none of this staying out late BS and were fighting to get the check. Mad props at this point because they were willing to split our checks up so some could leave immediately.
To add to this experience was the live music that was SO loud next to where we were seated we could barely speak to each other. More than once we talked about just leaving but we wanted to see this out. Our bad on that one.
The good thing that came out of this was we had something to joke about the rest of the conference. Such as over coffee we discussed placing our dinner order now so we could eat there next month. Don’t worry, we won’t be back.

J’ai passé un très bon moment dans ce bar! des télés partout, des serveuses partout, un karaoké.
La carte est assez complète, les burger à prix raisonnable et pas mauvais!
