I did not have a good experience with this place. I stopped in to get a pedicure and the lady asked me what I want and I said to cut my tonsils and scrub my callous. She rushed the pedicure, did one coat and then told me to get off the chair for the next customer. then I told her that’s crazy to do to a customer and she just said oh sorry. then I was checking out and she said it’s 25 bucks. I’m like the sign says 20. she told me she got rid of calluses but NEVER mentioned anything about extra payment. I asked her if a regular pedi they just keep the calluses normally on.(FYI she barely scribed my feet it was like 2 min). the other girls were sweet and told her that was not ok. Overall not good. expensive and not worth it. Nail salons are a dime a dozen. I would not recommend.

I have been a customer here for 8 years … I come here on average every three weeks because I like it … not because I have to … I generally do a gel or shellac polish … they use both OPI and CND(Creative Nail Design) polishes here which for me will last up to four weeks(although on a darker color I like to do a polish change at two weeks because my nails grow very fast!). They have wonderful massaging spa pedicure chairs, well maintained and meticulously cleaned. All of their tools are also well maintained and very clean. Neither I, nor anyone I have referred here has ever had a fungus or infection. They also do an excellent job on eyebrows and other skin care services. I’d like to try the lashes! So now, let’s address some of the more negative comments I have been reading on these posts. They had one girl here who did not do a good job and did hurt some folks a couple of years ago(including me), she is gone. They also used to be cash only, now they have a machine and charge a small surcharge, however, as another writer mentions, there is an ATM across the street. If you are on a schedule as one writer mentions… then make an appointment … they take walk-ins, they are known for that — however, they do take appointments as well … and as a long standing customer I can say they are never late … especially when they know it a BIGOCCASION!!! These are some of the nicest ladies you will ever do business with … stop by and say hi to Tina, Judi, Tee, Jenny, Emmi, and Kim!

Customer Service: Its an amazing atmosphere and made me look at life a little differently. I forget the ladies name that does my nails but she’s really sweet and literally knows every customer that comes in. While she was doing my nails she talked to me and asked my name, made jokes about possibly forgetting it; however I wasn’t offended by it. On the other hand I did notice that the customers that came in were 90yr + which I though was absolutely amazing. So cool to see and one lady even said she had been going there for 30yr+. So that convinced me to come back another time because I thought they must have amazing service and last long. WRONG. My manicures last at the most a week.): I’ve had manicures in the past that last up to 4wks. Not to say I wear it that long but for crying out loud 1 week. So disappointing I gave them 2x! But I’m done I also noticed that they use shellac. Most salons I go to use a different«gel«nail polish brand. Last way longerrrrrr. Maybe I’ll try a pedi here & they’ll get 5 stars.

I love this place. It’s right down the street. The ladies are always super nice and I have always gotten in quick. Seems clean. They don’t like you to use the chair control which is annoying because I don’t like all the massage settings. And the prices are not bad. You can go to a much nicer place and maybe pay the same or slightly more. But for being so close to home, I can’t complain much.

I have been getting my nails done for 15 years now in many different areas– and jenny at tulip nails is the best I have ever had! The nails stay just perfect for over three weeks– she uses high quality product because I never have lifting. I recommend the gel Polish– gets me right out! If you want topsoil yourself get a pedicure too. Love ya jenny! Thanks for keeping my nails beautiful!

I’ve tried every place in the neighborhood. And I literally mean EVERY place. The first 2 times I went, I had a crabby technician. Didn’t like her(sorry, forgot her name). But then Amy worked on me and she was incredible! I usually get some sort of simple design on one nail(found on Pinterest) and she does it, BYHAND. She’s very good. Also, very patient — if she does all the work and I change my mind, she just re-does the nail. No worries.

Not good. Everything seemed sanitary, but my biggest complaint was that they didn’t know how to paint nails. They were not painted completely, there were bubbles, and you could see through the nail polish to my nail. Also, I told her I was on a schedule since I had a wedding to go to in 3 hours, and it took 20 minutes to get started(with an appointment) I did enjoy the massage, which they spent more time on than other places I’ve gone to, though I won’t return.

They have always done a great job doing my manicures, pedicures and gel! They get things done quickly but are thorough. Sometimes I get sad that they dont always give an arm or leg massage, but they almost always do it. They are sweet, clean, and I always get compliments on my nails when I come here.

Love Tulip nails! They are the sweetest ladies and take very special care of every client they work with. They were super accommodating with my 90 year old grandmother and her«special» toes. They do a great job and my mani /pedis always last.

There were little bugs everywhere. One landed on my nail and she killed it on my nail and didn’t even wipe it off. I was so itchy and disgusted that I didn’t even care how bad my manicure looked when I left. Not only were they rude when I decided to do polish instead of gel they charged me to remove my gel which I only had on a couple fingers.

I’ve been coming here regularly for a little over a year. I only go to «T» so I can’t comment on nayone else, but I love her! She does my acrylics and my eyebrows/lip wax. Last time she hurt my pinky a little, and the pinky nail has a kinda weird filed out spot, but for the most part I have no complaints. She takes her time, which I appreciate, and she always makes sure to file out underneath them, which helps me not to pick at them! I dont usually have any lifting, and I go 2 – 3 weeks between fills. I always end up paying more than I think I should be, and I never quite get why, but its okay. I like her, and I’ll keep going to her! Also…I don’t know why everyone keeps saying its cash only. Its not. Its $ 0.50 for credit, but I have always paid with my card. :)

The staff is friendly and polite and their massage chairs are comfy. They seem to do a good job cleaning the spas after each use. Now for the bad parts: As other reviewers have mentioned, they have a bare minimum selection of nail polish colors. Their foot massages leave much to be desired and I absolutely hate that they make me walk on a dirty floor after my pedi so I can unoccupy the spa chair even if noone is waiting. I wish they’d let me continue to sit on the chair until my toes dried or find another way to allow me to transfer to a different location without having to walk on dirty floors. As far as their brow wax. The lady that did it – I think she’s the manager or owner; she did an awful job on mine. I asked her not to thin them out, just to clean the sides and one would have thought I asked her the opposite. She also waxed half of my left eyebrow off. I was so scared it wouldn’t grow back. It took over 2 mo for it to look normal again.

I go here regularly to have my eyebrows and upper lip waxed. Loc is the best I have come across in all of San Diego. She really takes the time to shape my brows to my face and then soothe my skin after the wax. I nearly fall asleep every time she massages my head. And you can’t beat the price: $ 13 total. I didn’t give a 5 star because I really only go to Loc Nguyen. I can’t say I was as impressed by the other techs. And this is a cash only place, which is sometimes way inconvenient. But there is a Union bank right across the street.

Absolutely love this place. The ladies are super sweet and take their time. If you’re a dummy and don’t tell them what you want like the previous reviews, how are they supposed to know what you want? I’ve been coming here for years and drive the distance for their service. These ladies will go out of their way and make you feel beautiful.

I had a fine visit to Tulip 3 times. Twice it was fine, one time the manicure left a lot to be desired. It’s a small salon and nothing fancy but the prices are reasonable and it’s clean. It’s cash only! There’s an ATM across the street and also a Bank of America ATM inside the albertsons across the street.

Alright, I’m not going to lie, I’ve been here quite a few times, but this last time I went really nipped it in the butt for me because I will not be returning, and it’s sad because I’ve never had a bad job at this place. I got in, and of course, I already know that their selection of colors is minimum, for what reason? I have no idea, it’s a pretty small shop so that may be it, but this time I saw a few new colors! One I loved in particular was a nude pink. So I chose that. The massage went well, I think it’s because I cramp’d her style when I asked her to square out my big toe. I’ve been here plenty, and they NEVER have rounded out my big toe, I’ve never had it, and I didn’t ask for it. I’d think they’d shape your nail according to how it grows naturally but no, she rounded it out as she trimmed it. She started filing my toe nail profusely trying to get it right, it was almost as if I had scolded her, so I felt bad and didn’t ask for anything further. She massaged my feet that was AWESOME! When she started painting my toes, she started with a primer… GASP, WHATTHEHELLTHOUGH… THEPRIMERWAS A CLEARGLITTER color? I’ve never seen that before in my life. LIKEEVER. I stopped her and asked, «Oh umm, is that glitter?» she replied«Primer»… smh. I let her continue. Then I watched as she slowly painted each of my toenails as her hands shook lightly. I’ve never seen a nail tech with unsteady hands as hers. I feel bad, maybe she didn’t have her glasses on or something, because my toes looked terrible after she was done. You could see the streaks of nail polish, it wasn’t smoothly painted on my toe, and she missed parts of the nail SMH. SIGH. They’ve done well in the past, so I won’t be too harsh, but this one experience will keep me from returning.
