I came here on a Wednesday late afternoon/​early evening. There wasn’t too many people around and most of the machines were free of use. Everything there is clean, fast, and well operated. The washers are about 20 – 35 minutes per cycle and the standard time for the dryers are 30 minutes if you choose not to add more time. They have a variety of sizes available with different costs ($ 2.75-$ 10.75) for each washer so be sure to browse through all of them before deciding on which one you want. It’s also located in a great plaza that has a grocery store, coffee shop, and restaurants.
It’s a hassle to use their credit/​debit card option, just bring cash or quarters. If you don’t have cash then you can go to Von’s or Rite Aid to get cash back. There’s also a Chase Bank nearby.

Very clean place. I went on a wed morning. The owner came to talk to me, asked me if I have any questions and gave me pointers on washing. The machines take credit card and wash pretty good. Prices are $ 2.75 for a two load size washer, $ 4 for a 3 load size washer and $ 6 for a 4 load size washer. Dryers are very large sized and cost is $ 1.50.

This laundry mat is clean and pretty convenient, they also take credit cards. I lost my UC San Diego ID over the weekend (you use triton cash to do laundry) at graduate student housing. I needed to do laundry before flying back out to north California. It’s a little pricier than most but hey it’s In La Jolla.

A wonderful experience. We had to clean ALL of the cloth like things in our house, I never knew we had so much, lol (clean donations are in our future). There were plenty of washers. I staggered my washes in case another poor soul had to do their entire house of laundry, but I probably could have done all of it at once without worry. I barely got my last load in by the cut off time, but as I was running around trying to juggle the overwhelming amount, I ran a little late on getting all the stuff out of the dryer. The attendant on call would have been well within his right to be irritated or surly, but he was the very opposite. He was understanding, kind, helped me out, made kind chit-​chat and took my anxiety down about a hundred notches – and after the week we had, we really needed that.
Now to the nitty gritty: clean, fast (I didn’t have to re-​run any of my dryers, everything was dry within 30 minutes), convenient (there is a grocery store and coffee house next door), plenty of parking (if you are coming in from the front, so you see the coffee house first, you can go around to the back and be closer to the door), FRIENDLY, helpful. It was bit more than I used to pay (but still reasonable), and sometimes the credit card machine took a couple tries (silly technology), but it was very convenient to pay by card. That big washer, is freakin’ huge, btw.
Anyway, I can get long-​winded, but it was a great experience and I appreciate the amazing service. This is now our neighborhood laundry. Thank you! ^.^

Nice and clean facility. Card swipe is great so you don’t have to mess with quarters. The facility is on the smaller side, but otherwise, great.

This place is well-​run and clean. I felt safe at night when I came. I only come to do special large items like blankets or rugs– so I don’t know how to compare prices. BUT I think it is great to have 3 sizes of washers for whatever you need

A small little coin operated laundry located next to the barber shop in the UTC square area, this little place creates quite the dichotomy amongst its customers.
On the one hand, this place is clean, well-​maintained, and, most importantly, incredibly fast. You can get in and out with your laundry in one hour. 30 minutes for washing and 30 minutes for drying. And their dryers are nothing to sneeze at. I washed my bedsheets, comforter, blanket, and quilt in their large washing machine and then dried it at the medium setting — totally clean and dry and in and out within an hour. I kept having a minor crisis in my head because I was unsure whether it was worth it for me to walk over to the Coffee Bean in the same plaza because I would have to walk back right after to move my stuff. They also have a drop off service in case you don’t have an hour but your clothes must be washed because you will out of underwear by evening.
On the other hand, you pay premium for this service — especially the wash. My washing machine cost me over $ 10. Holy crap. The dryers are more reasonable, with the largest one costing about $ 1.50 but I still ended up spending quite a bit on just washing my bedding. Don’t know about you, but if you’re looking for the cheapest, then this might not be the best option.
TL;DR Premium service and machines with premium prices

Lived in the complex behind UCity, where we did have laundry facilities. However, they were small and often crowded so we would load up the car and do three weeks worth of laundry in one go. Got a loyalty card and saved money on our laundry. The owners are often working there and are the nicest most helpful people ever. Vons and Golden Donut nearby mean you can get a snack. Great seating, clean and spacious places for you to fold all your laundry. Don’t waste your time with other laundromats, this is the best in SD!

It’s kind of odd to write a review on a laundromat but this one is so great I was compelled to do so. I only come here to use the large capacity washers and dryers to wash my blankets. The machines are all clean and new looking. All machines have credit/​debit card readers as well as coin slots. There is a change machine and a vending machine that dispenses snacks, drinks, and laundry supplies.
The whole place is spotless and has totes trendy art work hanging on the walls. The crowd here isn’t too bad mostly working people and students. There are also a lot of things to do next to this place like look around rite aid and check your blood pressure.

I’ve been to a few of the better laundromats around town, but this one I will not include on that list.
1) Just like everyone says, extremely pricey. I could spend half of that at most other laundromats.
2) That said, you’d think the washers were made of gold or designed by NASA. There are a few additional custom functions, like extra-​rinse, or extra-​wash, but my extra rinse may have lasted only an additional minute, because I didn’t see the time increase from others but I was still charged an add’l $ 0.25. Plus, my queen-​sized comforter barely fit into their so-​called 4-​load machines. I don’t remember having that issue with other machines, certainly not at that price ($ 6.25).
3) CRAMPED — constantly negotiating my way through and around others, with plenty of excuse mes exchanged frequently.
I’ll definitely make the trip to somewhere else like GetItClean in NorthPark. Have you tried that place yet? If you go here regularly, and try GetItClean, you will thank me later.

Great place, most expensive coin wash I’ve ever been to though. For the price you pay to wash and dry your clothes here, you would think you’d at least get free wifi. Maybe the cost is to cover the credit/​debit machines on the washer/​dryer. I only come here to wash/​dry my larger blankets and comforters and it’s conveniently located near my place. Otherwise I wouldn’t. If you regularly do laundry this place is pricey! I’ve paid $ 3.75 to wash and dry a whole load. No extra charges for hot water. I guess finding those places is the problem.
The place is conveniently located by a donut shop and Vons. There is ample parking.

This is absolutely the best laundry facility I’ve ever been to.
It’s clean, new commercial machines and family owned/​operated. Whenever I have an issue they resolve it immediately.
They have washing machine large enough to wash two king comforters at once. It’s amazing.

+ Ditch your apartment community laundromat (this place rocks my socks!)
+ Park in the back! Plenty of spaces!
+ Did 4 loads of laundry within 1 hour and 15 minutes! Didn’t even have enough time to sit!
— This place isn’t as big as the pictures make it out to be. Aisles are narrow.
— Make sure to load money into the correct machine! Follow the arrow! (I paid for a few people’s loads by mistake)
— Didn’t get the wifi password, however, the gentleman who runs the service desk was friendly.
+ All types of people come here; older folks, students, professionals. Didn’t run into any trouble makers.
— If paying by card, keep track of how much you spend. They automatically debit $ 20 for washing and $ 20 for drying (yes, $ 40 pending out of my account), however, it is adjusted to what you actually spend. Like I said, I made the mistake of loading money into other people’s machines. But I’m pretty sure I didn’t spend $ 8 in drying 4 loads. Current price in December 2014, $ 4.00 for wash and $ 1.25 (?) for drying. roughly 30 minutes of time for each.

Love the cleanliness here. I live in Clairemont and come here to do my laundry.

For the first time since college, I had to use a laundromat as our dryer needed repair … this place was a GODSEND the other day! I had several loads to do and the machines are fast, efficient and got me out of there quickly!
The owner that was there was super nice showing me (and all the other noobs) how to use his machines, and was super friendly.
Our dryer is fixed now but I would recommend this coin wash if you need to use it. It is clean, the machines appear new and as someone else said, there’s no «riff raff». :)

It’s just a laundromat, but it’s a great laundromat. It’s clean and well maintained, they have all sizes of machines, and staff are on hand if you have any problems.
The machines are seriously big enough to get all of your laundry done in one go. I went with plans to get some work done while I waited, and barely got the chance.
The moral of the story is: clean your clothes here. It’s a good place.

Okay, if you’ve read the other reviews you already know that U-​City Coin Wash is pretty much the best laundromat on the planet, or at least far better than any one I have ever seen. And in the year or so that it’s been open, the quality has only gone up.
But the place is not perfect. It would be nice if there were paper towels in the bathroom, instead of just a hot-​air blower. (However, there’s often a roll of paper towels at the other end of the laundromat.) And if the bathroom sink had a stronger flow of water, without a flow restrictor, it would make washing my hands a lot easier. And one last thing: The credit card readers are a tricky to use; you need to know that you have to slide your card through as fast as you can, or it doesn’t get read. Bill, the owner, explained this to me, and it’s important to know.
Among the many good things about U-​City Coin Wash, note that they have free, password-​protected Wi-​Fi that’s unusually fast, and I think it’s running all the time. The place is really clean, the staff are all very helpful, they have the biggest and best washers and dryers I have ever seen, there’s attractive art on the walls, and on and on.
There just isn’t another laundromat to compare to U-​City Coin Wash. Now, instead of dreading doing my laundry at my apartment complex’s laundry room, I almost look forward to doing my laundry at this place. And because everything always fits into one washer and one dryer, the whole process goes quickly, often so quickly that I don’t even have time to go next door to get a cup of coffee at the donut shop.
