I’m closing my account at Union today! They are one of the worst banks eve! r They make so many mistakes and customer service is not any good! I’m done I can’t take it anymore!!! don’t make the same mistake steer clear of this bank or you too will sound as frustrated as I am!!!

Worst customer service ever. Takes 20 minutes just to get someone on the phone.
Worst banking experience ever. They keep authorizing charges to my account, EVEN THOUGH I ASKED FOR NO OVERDRAFT PROTECTION, just so they can charge me $ 33 penalty. Such greed! Do not trust this bank!

As a real estate agent I depend on banks to get mortgage loans done. Union Bank is not up to the task and I urge you to avoid using them. Specifically this review is about the banks wholesale mortgage department. That is the division that takes in loans from mortgage brokers.
This loan was submitted the bank August 18 2013. Close of escrow was to be September 23. Today is October 3 and we are still waiting for underwriting to complete the file that was due out (according to UB’s guidelines) on September 17.
No explanations, no communication, no service. Run fast. Do not get involved.

I have been banking with UB for nearly 13 years. For just over 11 years I would have rated them at 5 stars. This year they have plummeted to 1 ½ stars. They started charging me to have an account with them. They withheld my paycheck funds for 10 days when I have been depositing the same company check for nearly 13 years. Their mobile deposit app originally accepted my deposit and then later my deposit was never processed or acknowledged and nearly had me overdrawn and bounce 4 accounts. They closed my visa card because they felt I was not paying more than minimum payment for a few months when I hit rough spot. My UB Visa payments were not recognized till days after actual on-​line payment made.. . sometimes making me «late» in payment. I had enough… going to a credit union bank and hope to find a good one.

I don’t bank here but I did cash a check here today and was totally impressed with the new technology that this bank has to avoid bank robbers. They have metal detectors that you walk through to get into the bank and once you get scanned, the door will unlock. For this UB, 4 stars. Safety first.
