My name is Hung, go by Henry. I am the manager at this Star Certified Station. If you need and smogcheck, smog test or have any question or concern about the smog inspection, please do not hesitate to contact me, I will glad to inform you with the best of my knowledge to assist you.

I have more than 12 years experience of doing smog inspection and ASE certified advance level technician.

Price is relatively good.
Guy is a straight shooter and gets the job done quickly without any complaints during my experience. I had to come back for a retest, which was no charge except for some $ 3 fee for something.

I dreaded getting another smog check this year after my ordeal a couple years ago when my old Honda 1997 didn’t pass and I had to spend hundreds of dollars in repair to get it fixed and then retested. This year was pain free. I had to go to a STAR certified place and went on the BBB website to search for smog shops in the City Heights area. University Smog Test Only is legit, Henry is an honest man making an honest living which is hard to find in the auto business. 15 minutes and I was out the door. You can’t go wrong taking your car here. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back when it comes that time again to do a Smog Check.

I never thought I’d be Unilocaling about a smog test center because, honestly, aren’t they all the same? But, I recently had such a positive experience at a place called «SMOG, Inc.» that I have to share it.
I was driving down University, looking for another smog test place, but saw this «Smog Test Only» sign and pulled into the driveway. The shop wasn’t even open at the time but Lloyd, the gentleman who was working there that day, was kind enough to open it up for me and set out a table and some chairs in the shade for me.
He then went straight to work on my car, assuring me that it would take only 15 min at most. (Which is the quickest time I’ve ever been quoted.) During the test, he pointed out to me that one of my spark plugs was loose and, with my permission, improvised a way to tighten it (at no extra cost, he was just helping me out).
The smog test was over quickly and I can’t remember exactly how much I paid but it was the same as a bunch of other places that I’d called. (I think the cost for this test is pretty standardized)
Anyway, everything was so quick and Lloyd was such a nice guy that I walked away with such a warm fuzzy feeling (from a smog test!?!).
I would strongly recommend this place and I’ll be going back next time!
