This is the place to be if you are craving a sweet treat. I personally love boba so the fact that they had boba was the main attraction. I have tried their taro slush and their pineapple coconut smoothie. They were both delicious. The taro slush was not too sweet but at the same time was rich in flavor and not just ice. They are pretty generous with their boba. It’s the only place where i end up finishing my drink first and boba last. I have not try any of the pastries but i have seen them on pictures and in person. I can honestly say that they look amazing and the customers and reviews prove it. The place is huge with lots of chairs and tables to sit down and enjoy the drinks and pastries. I have seen a few people bringing their laptops and books to do work. The other cool thing about this place is that its decorated in a very creative way with lots of cool art all around it. It has to be one of the coolest coffee shops in San Diego. This place is super affordable and drinks and pastries are pure quality and delicious.

Pretty solid cheap dessert place that has everything you could be craving at that moment. Boba, coffee, brick toast, ice cream, waffles etc. This place pretty much has it all covered. I decided to just get a scoop of mint choco ice cream which was a very decent $ 1.25 and they gave me a pretty generous scoop. My friend got an order of the churros with dulce de leche dipping and toasted marshmallow topping. The churros were very good and it came out hot. You get a choice of dipping sauce and topping. The dulce de leche was good but as it cooled it got a bit hard to dip. The toasted marshmallows sound good in theory but were pretty awkward to top but they were good nonetheless. The space here is huge compared to the convoy location with lots of table and couches to study and lounge around.

Bleh. I’ve had a craving for Thai Tea Boba for a few days now, so I decide to stop here. If you wanna spend over 5 bucks on a watery, less flavorful version of a Thai Tea Boba, then this is your spot. I should have gone with every one of my instincts that were telling me to go to one of the Vietnamese restaurants down the street.

I like this location so much better than the one on Vickers. It has much more space. Very cool décor. Service was friendly at both locations though. Went on a Saturday afternoon, so it wasn’t too busy. But school will be starting back up again soon, so I would prepare for more traffic through here. Great place to hang out, do homework, study. Awesome change up from your standard Starbucks. The honey toast is TODIEFOR. I really don’t think there is anything on the menu you could go wrong with. Also reasonably priced. They have games for you to play while you wait which is very fun! Totally recommend this little gem.

More parking than the one on Vickers Street(aka Convoy). I’ve been here twice and there has never been a line. There’s plenty of seating unlike the other location. They have games and a tv for the customers to use. Sucks that they don’t have cute film lids for their boba though :(

Love, love, love the honey toast! I found myself craving this after I tried it for the first time. Toasty, has a kinda salty & sweet taste, yet yummy. Especially great when you can choose whatever toppings you want on it. My personal favorite is strawberries and vanilla ice cream. Also a great place for boba if you enjoy boba runs~ I really wish they have an Up2you café in North County. It would be great to have a place like this where everyone can enjoy good food, drinks, and maybe a place to study or spend time with friends.(:

The place itself is super roomy and cute, with games and card for a great hangout spot! I only tried the ice cream but it was tasty and presentation for it(and all the other desserts) looked incredible. They seemed a little understaffed but waiting wasn’t an issue for me. Would def come back to try the crepes and brick toast.

Something about creating your own magical honey toast gets me all warm and fuzzy! Came here twice during the week because honey toast was so perfect for the holidays and relaxation time. I ordered a simple crêpe with powered sugar and nutella for my 14 month old son, he ate it up and asked for more! I got the honey toast with condensed milk, strawberries, mascarpone cheese, and whipped cream. No ice cream because it was cold out, it was December I’ll pass on the ice cream. Let me just say that I wanted another honey toast that we came back 3 days later. I wish Chula Vista had one… wouldn’t have to drive so far from home just for honey toast. Parking can be difficult because it’s a shared lot with other businesses. It was a weeknight when we went and also the holidays so we were lucky. On the weekends it gets packed. There’s board games to pass time, and a screen projector with old school cartoons playing. I was happy when Courage the Cowardly dog was on, even with no audio. Water is available in carafes where the utensils are located. One thing that was unfortunate was that there are no highchairs. We had to get tables where there were couches against the wall. The times we went, there were multiple families also with infants or small toddlers/kids and the kids had to sit on the parents lap or stay in their car seat.

Honey Toast(aka brick toast although that’s a bit of a misnomer). The perfect combo of salty butteriness and sweet honey, crispy crunchy on the outside with warm light fluffiness inside. It wasn’t as heavy as I was expecting and I immediately regretted agreeing to SHARE! With only one poor employee behind the counter service here was super ssssssssslow. But on the plus side there is plenty of comfy seating with an assortment of games to occupy the competitor in me. Cool relaxing place to kick back and hang with a group. Great place for coffee/tea-PLUS(no, not ‘milk-plus’…at least not that I know of!) Hey but check out the lifetime supply of Nutella in the back, under lock and key! Also tried the Vietnamese coffee which was just how I like my coffee, strong and sweet! Don’t forget to #instagramyourself LOL Good Times!

A great place to have some coffee, tea, or dessert. It’s on the college campus so expect to see a lot of college kids there and it maybe crowded depending on the time of day. I’ve been a few times now and recommend trying the Nutella and banana milkshake or honey toast with the toppings of your choice.(I had Nutella sauce, strawberries & bananas, with coffee ice cream and loved it) I don’t recommend the green tea milshake. The green tea ice cream has no flavor so it just tastes like milk. The good news is if you don’t like your drink they will make you another one. Awesome! The service can be slow depending on how busy they are so be prepared to wait.

Been here many times now. Really enjoy the food. However, last time I was here the service was terrible. I asked the man preparing food for something and he just about rolled his eyes. Hate situations like that when every other experience is great– like tonight, everyone working here was so pleasant and the guy prepping the food even asked me how my food was as I got ready to leave. I’ve gotten the honey toast with Nutella, peanut butter, condensed milk, almond butter, mint chip, vanilla, green tea ice cream and it is always good. Nutella banana milkshake is awesome. Love showing friends this hidden gem.

Honey toast with condensed milk is a must at this place. Of course toppings are as well but to me the best combo is the toast with the condensed milk, but if you’d like to further indulge go crazy and get ice cream, Nutella, and fruit. The combination of warm white bread like cake with the sweetness of the condensed milk is just heaven. One is enough to share for two, but you don’t want to share heaven with others. So be selfish and indulge on one for yourself. If bread isn’t a dessert to you, well they also have brownies, shakes and waffles to enjoy. Tip– be mindful of all the toppings you want as it adds up $$$. A toast with condensed milk, fruit and ice cream cost $ 9.

Being from San Jose there’s literally a bunch of boba places in every corner. So when I went down to San Diego to visit a friend I had to try one out and see if they’re any good like up north. So from my friend’s recommendation we went to up 2 you café. Oh did I regret letting her take me here. Worst almond milk tea I ever had in my life. Tasted like I was drinking plastic or something. Left the worst aftertaste ever. My friend ordered a mango black tea and she couldn’t even finish it. She also ordered a crêpe to try. Usually a crêpe is suppose to be soft and fluffy when you cut into it right? Not here. When I heard the crunchiness when she cut through that crêpe I knew right off the bat it wasn’t gonna be good. Only ate half of it and gave up. Never coming back here again.

Finally decided to try this place out for the infamous ‘honey toast’! Was I disappointed? I think not. My husband and I came on a Sunday afternoon, and to our surprise the place was pretty close to empty. A few customers here and there but it was very pleasant since I got to enjoy the café more. The décor is super adorable and inviting for ladies like myself. The menu is very straight forward as well. You basically make up what you want and you have a base of what you want first, whether it is the honey toast or even the Belgian waffle(which I will be trying out next!) Parking area is small and shared lot with other stores. However, I was happy we visited at a good time where there were plenty of parking space! The honey toast tastes just like The La Placita ‘Prima Toast’ cookie wafers that you get at Seafood City! Except, this honey toast is warm and fresh and doesn’t feel like the enamel in your teeth is going to break from eating it. My order was pretty basic. I just wanted Honey Toast with condensed milk, bananas and vanilla ice cream! *yum* maybe next time I’ll try it with Belgian waffle! I also tried my favorite Taro milk Tea with no Boba to go and I loved their version more than any other tea spots I have been to. It was most def. Full of flavor and creamier too! I truly enjoyed this place, it was pretty warm in here too but their are nice board games you can play instead of being on your phone, so you actually interact with people you’re hanging out with, who knew? However, I believe the customer service needs to be more alert I guess you can say? It’s not really a *big* deal but we didn’t get greeted at the door as the employees were too busy talking to each other. Considering this was my first time it would be nice to be acknowledged a little and if I have any questions about ordering or what is popular. But that’s what I have Unilocal for right? So no biggie! I’d like to see more creative items on the menu though, and the prices are not bad but it can become pricey knowing that any additional topping starts to add up and before you know it, you’re spending $ 15 because it looks that good and tastes that good!

This new café is very spacious… although parking isn’t much of an improvement from the original location. Plenty of indoor seating… tables with chairs and even sofas. They sometimes project movies on the large wall. Board games are also available to ensure you have a good time. Staff is friendly. Service isn’t always the quickest. But, the wait usually isn’t that long. They have a number of desserts to choose from… crepes, waffles, sundaes, and churros to name a few. But, their HONEYTOAST has got to be our favorite. A large, thick slice of toast… slathered with butter and honey… then customized with any of your favorite toppings(with each topping adding an additional $.50-$ 1 to your bill). Some of our favorite toppings are: nutella, condensed milk, bananas, and green tea ice cream. For beverages, they have a variety of coffees, teas, bobas, milkshakes, and smoothies. Desserts, drinks, games, and maybe even a movie = hours of fun(and delicious) times!

I’ve been to the other location on Convoy(near Pacific Honda). They have the same desserts and drinks… the main difference is that this place is roomier. It has way more tables and seating. They even have sofas. So we came here after having dinner at Homestyle Hawaiian the other night. Just like the other Up2You Café, this location also has games such as: Uno, Jenga, Connect Four, and more. Ended up playing a few epic games of Jenga(with my partner in crime and god daughter) while we enjoyed our desserts. We ordered and shared a sundae(three choices of ice cream: mint chip, cookies n’ cream, and vanilla) and a slice of honey toast(with nutella, bananas, and strawberries). The sugar/sweetness in the desserts can become overwhelming, but they have free self-service water available. They also have wi-fi, outlets, and plenty of room for people that want to study or just hang out. Service was great, not only when we ordered but afterwards as well. During one of our Jenga games the wooden blocks fell and knocked over one of our cups of water. It made a pretty big mess. I asked one of the employees for a towel so I could clean it up but he told me not to worry. The guy was pretty cool and quite understanding about the whole thing. He came out to our table with a mop and cleaned it up in 10 seconds. Service is great and desserts are as well. I actually like this location better because it is bigger and parking was easier to find.

Wow this place is open til midnight! Dessert, Boba and board games. The menu is super cool with the vanity light bulbs framing the large menu. The desserts are customizable– to your liking. I chose to order the belgian waffle with green tea and coffee ice cream. I didn’t realize that 2 scoops were a hefty size for lil ol me. I was def eating with my eyes. But it was hella bomb. The warm waffle with the cold ice cream. Unfortunately, it was kind of busy when we arrived, but seating opened up pretty fast for our group of 5. You can get lost playing a game like connect four, like we did, here.

This place is the cutest dessert place and it’s so unique. Their bricktoast is to die for! You get to pick the toppings and flavor a to make it your own. I got a dulce de lechwe spread with green tea ice cream on mine and it was so delicious! While you wait you can always play games like connect 4 that the place provides you with, it’s a great place to hang out with your friends. I would definitely come back here

I heard so much about this place I had some high expectations when I came here. And they definitely did not disappoint me at all. I fell in love with this place the first time I came here. You make your own dessert. It’s hard to go wrong. You start with your base(brick toast/waffle), add fruit, condense milk, Nutella, whatever topping you’d like, and ice cream! There are tons of different choices. The fruit was fresh, the ice cream was soft and fluffy. And portions are a good sized! I will definitely be coming back here!

I came here on a Friday night. This is the newer up2u café. Location is right next to homestyle Hawaiian and parking is limited. Their milk tea is sooooo good! I also got their brick toast with strawberries and mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was good and the serving size is good enough for 2 people for $ 7. Their is a lot of tables but make sure to wait for them to open up. This place gets packed! Water is self served along with your utensils. The décor is also really pretty. Gives you a coffee shop/laid back vibe.
