Fantastic customer service and excellent body and paint work. Let me say that I am very particular how I maintain my car both mechanically and in appearance. When my 911 turbo was hit in a parking lot, Porsche of San Diego recommended West Coast Specialties for the repair. Ryan Hernandez told me he would have the damaged areas restored to perfect and that is exactly what he delivered. I have a good eye when it comes to imperfections in the paint/​body, and I was not able to find any at the repair locations. I am a very happy customer and highly recommend West Coast Specialties for your auto paint and body needs. 5 stars!

West Coast Specialties is hands down the best body shop in California, if not the USA… If you need anyone doing body work or paint these are the guys! Ryan and his team at WCS have worked on every single one of my cars and they always come out flawless! You can really trust these guys and at the end of the process you car leaves looking nicer than it did from the dealership. Their detail service is amazing as well ! 5 starts and I’m happy customer since 2009.

West Coast Specialties was able to remove the dent above the right rear wheel of my exotic perfectly. The dent involved the crease that echoes the wheel opening which added some complexity, but they were able to remove the dent without filler and repaint with an exact color match.
I am the pickiest person in the world about auto repairs. I’ve very closely examined the repaired area in all lighting conditions, from all angles, on the back side of the metal, and along all seams and trim pieces and I can tell you there is absolutely no way anyone will know there was ever a problem in that area. The color, the surface contour, and the paint smoothness all match the rest of the car perfectly.
Ryan Hernandez was my POC and kept me posted every few days. He promised the car to me in «a week to a week and a half»…a total of 11 days passed between dropping it off and picking it up. Right on target I’d say!
Their price for repairing an exotic is 2 to 2.5 times what a standard body shop would charge for a regular car, but for that price you get a repair done to perfection with no filler and absolutely zero clues that anything was ever wrong. To me, the price was worth it.
(They do have a different cost structure for nonexotics but I did not use that service and therefore have no opinion of it… talk to WCS for more info on that)
If you are looking for the best, West Coast Specialties gets my vote.

Patrick Strong who is the owner is also the customer service. I was nervous bringing my car in since I had no clue what was all involved in repairing my car from a collision on my driver side panels. He arm wrestled with my insurance and kept me informed.
Two weeks was the turn around and most of that was stemming from the insurance delaying a second assessment. I was ecstatic that not only did the repair all but they filled in my key marks and bumper marks which weren’t even related and they buffed out my car. They detailed my whole car and for that, I had to give them 5 star. Plus his crew was professional from beginning to end. Thank you Patrick and crew
Oh and he has worked out a Enterprise rent a car arrangement where the Enterprise rep picked me up and got me set in a rental and on arrival, Patrick told me not to worry about returning the rental, to leave it there and a rep confirmed they would pick it up.

Let me begin by saying their work is awesome. Just gave 3 stars due to excessive delays. They do a very good job and also customize things if you want to do a custom body change. But time and priority wise very disappointed. They are not reliable on the time frame, a small delay happens but a 3 times the delay is a bit too much. Customer service and follow up is horrendous. My car was given an estimate of 5 weeks and it has been 9 weeks and still in the shop with no time frame given for completion. No one calls with an update or any estimate of completion nor with an valid explanation on delay. I have to constantly call to find out the status. My job was a rear end with a bumper frame work and a bumper cover replacement, so it should not take 90+ days. They cater to super cars so i speculate that the owners with Ferraris and Maseratis are given priority. My last generation Porsche 911 was getting low priority. Five years ago they did work on my last car and were super good but now i think their customer service and work ethic have become really awful. When i picked up the car, explanation was given that they got short a mechanic during the time my car was there.

The quality of work is great, no doubt there. There can be minor hiccups but the main thing is that WCS stands behind and does a great job all the time. The only feed back I can give them is to provide a more accurate timeline to the customers for the job. Sometimes it can take longer than expected to get the job done but that’s okay because your car will look perfect — WCS is the place for perfectionist. I’ve had multiple body work repairs and painting done on my cars and been going to WCS since 2010. Go see Ryan or Patrick, those guys are great!

New Maserati, which I just took delivery of, had a factory paint defect on the front hood. Which I can say was eating me inside when told by the dealership that the only option to remedy the flaw would be to repaint the entire hood. The dealership utilized West Coast Specialties as the only authorized Maserati Auto Body Shop in San Diego. Ryan assured me that the turn around would be two days and that the re-​paint would match the entire car as if it rolled off the factory floor. To my amazement, the final finish was everything Ryan said it would be. The car looks amazing and within two days as promised. Thank you Ryan.

I got my Tesla Model S repaired here and they did a fabulous job. They were able to match the multi-​coat red paint perfectly. And they were able to get out a nasty rear quarter panel dent without replacing the whole panel. Overall I’m very satisfied with the job. I can’t even tell the quarter panel has been repainted. Patrick and his team were helpful and responsive through the whole process.

Ryan and the guys at West Coast are simply the best in the business. My 1988 Porsche 911 was vandalized and Amato’s turned me away because of the complexity of repairing these older cars. West Coast accepted the challenge and did an incredible job. The car looks absolutely perfect and I couldn’t be happier with the customer service and quality I received.

I’m very impressed with the customer service at this body shop. I called on Thursday and had and appointment today, Monday, to install a hitch on my Tesla. Much to my surprise, not only did they install the hitch but they also washed our car — very professional place.

A good place to avoid. Slow to do the job. Then a problem shows up with their work and they won’t take any responsibility for the error.
There are better places to go. Beware.

I do business with West Coast Specialties on a regual basis and they are always very friendly and ready to jump on whatever project needs attending to! Patric, Ryan and Gerald are the front lines and I’m sure you’ll run into their smiling faces if you make your way their direction.
I would highly recommend them to anyone who loves their car and needs body work done!

I am soooo extremely happy with this shop! I was rear ended 3 days before christmas by a jerk who was texting in traffic on the freeway so he wasn’t paying attention when we all stopped. Note to EVERYONE: texting and driving, not ok. Thankfully I was driving a tribute and he had a honda civic, I won that battle.
So anyway, after dealing with his horrible insurance company I finally was able to take my car into the shop to get my rear bumper fixed. I took it in, Patrick was extremely nice and helpful. He called me daily to give me updates. A week later (bumper was on back order) I was able to pick my car up. My car looks beautiful again and they even washed it and cleaned the inside! I’ve never been able to get my car as clean inside as they did. And it was even better because it was totally unexpected!
I loved how he made me feel at ease and comfortable with everything and kept me updated. This place does more of the higher end cars like ferrari’s and porsche’s, so even though I came in with my Mazda I was treated just as well. I was referred to this shop by a mechanic friend and I thank him tremendously for this referral and am also passing along the referral to anyone!

I took my 2-​month old BMW M3 Convertible here at the recommendation of a friend. They were finishing up work on his Porsche 911. He got referred to them by the local Porsche dealership. WCS has a good reputation in San Diego, but they definitely left me with a very VERY sour taste in my mouth. Read on…
To finish repairs, they promised/​estimated 15 days to receive parts and 15 days to complete the body work.
When all was said and done, they had my car for a total of 3, yes THREE, months.
As each already extended due date approached, they came up with yet another excuse.

When I picked up the vehicle, many of the parts were obviously not aligned correctly. I had to bring the vehicle back on another occasion to re-​adjust the sloppy work the first time around.
Now, after taking a third look, I see additional things that aren’t just lining up right. I was originally promised, «we’ll make your BMW look like it just came from the factory.» Yeah right.
Now here’s the kicker… some asshole side-​swiped me a couple months after getting my car back from WCS. Yes, I know, either I or this car has bad luck. I got a recommendation to Phil Thearle’s Autobdy from a friend who works in the local auto industry. When they pulled my car apart, they found non-​BMW parts in my car from the previous repair. He claimed it looks like they «raided the spare parts box» when fixing my car. YIKES!
