History

Established in 2003.

In 1979 I started in the autobody industry sweeping floors and helping the detail department. After about 3 months of asking a lot questions, I decided to learn how to become a Body and Paint tech.

I did bodywork for six years when I learned how to paint. After learning the trade and working at a few shops I decided just to do work for friends and family. I did that for a couple of years and wanted to learn the business side of the business.

So that’s when I went to work for Chapparone Auto Body, which had 5 or 6 shops at the time. I worked my way up to the General Manager position in charge of eight locations. I worked there for over 15 years. When the company was being sold, I thought it would be the best thing for the company and it’s employees. But after about a year staying on with the new owners I decided I needed to move on and work for myself. So I started J&M in May of 2003, bought EL Dorado in Poway in June of 2005 and opened our third store John’s Collision in Santee
