Woof and Purr Vet

I took my dog here he was really sick and after a couple thousand dollars later and she didn't even know why he was sick! Also I was overcharged by $ 228.00 for a clerical mistake I found on my bill. Besides that she is the most expensive vet I have ever been to.

If that wasn't enough you don't even get to talk to her in person to explain what's wrong with your animal. I only saw her briefly one time out of 6 visits. You have to give any information to her helper who then relates it to her. Of course you hope she gives her all the information accurately . It's hard to tell a second party what's wrong with your animal and not get to talk to the vet directly.

Dr. Williams wanted to do unneeded surgery for $ 1400.00 on my cat and I so I had San Diego Bay Hospital take a look and they fixed his cyst today for $ 132.00 total… Besides the fact that she has the charm of a rattler… and the «stuck in traffic» seems to be her theme song.
Obviously I have been there a few times and all my experiences just got worse until she decided to yell at me instead of her employees. Saved myself a lot of heartache and money by her doing that. Check out San Diego Bay reviews. They are 100% more professional than this one woman show is.

A small Vet practice can be a good and bad thing. We enjoyed getting to know our Vet and having discussions about our Pet’s care. Dr. Jayme is a medically sound Vet and I trust her ability to treat our Fur Kids. The Bad is that it’s a small practice. As a result, the staff was often not able to keep up with the demands of a sick pet and worried parents. The office visits were often longer than necessary and the time to fill prescriptions was slow.

I’ve visited A LOT of different vet offices in my lifetime as a pet owner, and I’ve gotta say, Dr. Jayme stands out as the best. My partner & I took our problematic senior pug to see her for the first time today, and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Walking in, we noticed how clean and beautifully decorated the office was and were warmly greeted by a wonderful friendly vet tech named Dominique, who quickly got us in a room and gently took vitals. Dr. Jayme was so knowledgeable, thorough, and down to earth. Her perfect balance of wisdom, humor, and concern left us feeling our fur baby was in great hands. We will def be returning and are so grateful we found Woof & Purr!!!

Dr. Jayme and staff were amazing! I called around everywhere to see if my dog can be squeezed in for vaccinations and a check up, everywhere said no. Then I called Wood and Purr and they took me and my dog right away. Jensen (my dog) absolutely loved the staff, and they were very knowledgable and friendly. Dr Jayme was a joy to deal with. I am so glad everywhere else was booked otherwise I would not have known what a gem this place is. I won’t take Jensen anywhere else!

Jayme was very helpful to me in dealing with a cat I found in the alley next to my house. She did a chip search and a quick pregnancy exam for me at no charge and gave me helpful tips in dealing with ways to get the cat spayed. I’ll def be back.

Awesome vet! She has a great bedside manner with our dogs (and their owners).
First time we came in she squeezed in our new puppy on a Saturday when he had an eye problem. She also spotted and treated an infected paw. Discussed what medicines to give and not give, working out a schedule to treat what needed immediate treatment and observe rest and only to prescribe if needed. I liked careful approach of not over prescribing (was easier on puppy and saved money).
Two months later brought in our senior dog (kennel cough). Again did great job on exam — she (the dog) had been hiding a bad rash from us but vet spotted it and showed us it right away, then came up with cost effective treatment plan.
Really appreciate good knowledge with good bedside manner.

I have had two visits two Dr Jayme over the past 6 months. Both times were due to urgent situations after my normal vet had closed. Both times she was so kind and helpful. The first time required an invasion exam with my girl dog who is very skiddish and known to snap at people. Dr. Jayme sat on the floor to make my girl more comfortable and waited a while until she warmed up.
The second time after my dog received stitches from another vet and tore them out. It was again after 5 and our normal vet was closed. Dr Jayme was so patient and really took our situation into account. She provided a very affordable solution which was a relief after already spending near a thousand dollars on the other vet earlier in the week.
Dr. Jayme was so kind and will now be our regular vet. She is genuine and so great with animals.

I can’t tell you this is a poor choice to make for the technical care of your companion. I can say that I arrived at my appointment 5 minutes early and was pleasantly greeted by a receptionist who was expecting me. I sat down thinking I would be soon see the vet, Jayme Williams, given the appointment and the empty waiting area. However, a full 30-​minutes passed with no explanation from the receptionist concerning the wait and I finally asked the her when I was going to see the vet. She said she would check and disappeared into the back area. Five-​minutes later she reappeared to tell me that she managed to reach the missing vet on the phone and was told the vet was stuck in traffic and ‘should’ be arriving ‘shortly’. The fact that the receptionist did not disclose to me that the vet was not there, and that the vet herself did not call to have the receptionist convey to me about her delay, I found very unprofessional and inconsiderate. I did not feel that I wished to leave the care of my companion with a vet and office staff that demonstrated such a profound lack of simple respect to their clients — human or animal. I would suggest selecting someone else to give you the service and care you should expect and need to have from a health care provider.

I have been searching for a good vet since Pacific Vet became Bodhi Vet. I did find one that I was happy with but is not easy for me to get to. So when Woof & Purr opened up I was eager to try because it is so close to home. I am very picky and I am a frequent vet visitor because I have 4 pets. I have taken 3 out of 4 pets to this vet but my most recent vet visit has inspired to me to write a review. My dog, Bear, rarely needs to visit a vet unless he hurts himself. He cut himself somehow and ended up needing surgery. Dr. Jayme Williams ended up dedicating her WHOLE night to him. Not only did she take care of his wound but she ended up keeping him over night because the procedure went late into the night. I assume any other vet would have finished the job and headed home or say «we can’t do this because we close at this hour» (which happened to me before at another vet office). Dr. Jayme Williams stayed the night at the vet office to keep an eye on and to comfort our poor Bear. I am so grateful! Thank you Dr. Jayme!

Between my girlfriend and I, we have three animals, two little dogs, and a bigger than life cat.
With having pets come the responsibility of taking care of them. They are not just animals, they are a part of your family and when something is wrong, you want to take care of them and seek out the best care you can find.
Unfortunately we had a string of bad luck and one after the other, we had to go to different animal hospitals for different reasons, emergency after hours, the other could see us sooner, things of the such, but thankfully we found Woof and Purr Vet and met Dr Jayme Williams!
First and foremost she goes above and beyond what we were expecting from a vet. After seeing doctor after doctor, it was refreshing to meet someone who really puts the animals concerns and needs above all, and cause of all our frequent vet visits, was able to work with us financially and tell us what we needed upfront and the best route to care for our special little guys (and girl) without the unnecessary cost. She also gives us advice and how to better take care of the little ones so our visits could be less frequent.
The office is small and quaint but well equipped and staffed to suit most pet health needs, it has personality and you can see that they care about the little things.
Since then, our animals have been doing better and we have had absolutely no complaints, honestly we could not have found a better vet, a place where our animals and ourselves feel like we belong, and not just another client but a part of an extended animal family.

I really had a wonderful visit. I stopped in once before and she sold me flea meds for my animals. This time I made an appointment to bring my pup in for an examination after getting him off the streets.
From the minute I walked in I was greeted by their lovely front desk gentleman (I forgot his name) and he had me fill out the paperwork. Small note she has fluffy pens to write with and she was playing the movie «Penguins». It really is the little things that make a place feel less sterol and more welcoming. A+
After that I waited for her to finish with her other patient and talked it up with Mr. Front Desk, while he attempted to win my shy dogs approval by stuffing him with delicious dog treats. I’m sure he didn’t mind.
Everything else went wondefully. She quickly determined he had an ear infection and Allergies. Because we had no background on my dog Taco we decided to give him his first round of shots just jn case. He got the works.
After everything she helped make sure all of this was affordable for me. I am a 25 year old bartender and all of those things rack up quickly. I left with a dent in my pocket but not even close to what it would have been somewhere else. She cared about me and the dog. And I reccomend her to everyone.
Side note– Mr. Front Desk and Taco left being friends. ;)

I do not think that Dr. Jayme is a vet that should be part of your pet’s life. She has some great qualities in handling difficult animals. But in the end her patience with animals does NOT extend to their humans who need to make difficult decisions sometimes. After her response to me during the most horrible decision I had to ever make, I would NEVER recommend her to anyone.

Do not take your animal here for anything critical/​serious. I could regale you with our horrific story, but I don’t even want to relive it again by typing it in this review. Go anywhere else.

Dr. Jayme is the best! She is so caring and takes her time with your pet. Our dog Darwin is scared of everyone, so we took her in several times before she actually became a patient and every time Dr. Jayme spent time with Darwin (gave her treats, let her sniff around, and generally let her more comfortable). When Darwin did need medical care, Dr. Jayme spent time with us explaining different options and was always very up front with us about pros, cons and costs. She was also great with our cat who, truth be told, can be a bit of a jerk. I’d recommend her to anyone, especially if you appreciate the personal care and/​or if your pet has some trust issues! I am so glad our community has such a fantastic vet.

Dr. Jayme is a leader in her community and with her state-​of-​the-​art office. Friendly, knowledgeable and committed to her not only her practice, but helping bond the community through her volunteer work with DOGS (dog owners of Grape Street Park) Most importantly, she is working with me to help our asthmatic cat, Faye, have a better quality of life. A team approach is really the only way to go. I appreciate her and recommend her for any fur animal.

Woof and Purr is a sheer delight. Dr. Jamie is compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. My dog was having vision issues and Dr. Jamie referred me to an eye specialist immediately. Although she couldn’t treat my dog she was quick to help him and kind to me. I am forever grateful to Dr. Jamie and her staff.

After bringing in my «granddog» Chloe for her booster shots & well dog exam, as well as for an emergency visit before that, I knew that Woof & Purr is a top of the line vet & animal hospital. Dr Jamie & Jackie are professional, up to date & caring. So when we adopted our own puppy recently of course we took her to Woof & Purr & are so happy with them. The way they handled our frightened pup was outstanding & her exam was comprehensive but still affordable. I have recommended Woof & Purr to my family & friends, my daughter now brings her cats there too. This local business has brought a much needed service to South Park & is much appreciated. I would recommend them to all loving pet owners. I’m even looking forward to our next appointment instead of dreading it. Plus they give treats to the dogs & candy to the owners haha

The worst experience I’ve ever had with a professional in any field, I’ve had with Dr. Jayme. Let me preface this by saying that I really wanted to like this vet. She was very patient with my dog and she seemed like the kind of person that would be open minded and considerate of patient concerns.
I am currently going through a rough patch in my life, which is negatively impacting my rescue dog’s usually mild separation anxiety to the point where he is hurting himself when I leave. I’m new to the area, so I came to Jayme for a Bordatella vaccine in addition to speaking with her about possibly putting my dog on anxiety medication to help him cope with the change. Anxiety medication is a completely unfamiliar realm for me, so when she told me that a medication called Acepromazine or «Ace» would be our best bet for the short-​term, I decided to go through with the purchase.
I don’t like the idea of giving my dog a medication without knowing anything about it, so I decided to do a little research. It didn’t take long for me to find an overwhelming amount of advisories against using this drug on anxious dogs. It is «no longer recommended» due to the fact that is does not reduce anxiety or fear, but actually scrambles the dog’s perception of what is happening while inhibiting locomotive functions. So basically, the vast majority of vets are saying that Ace is a chemical straightjacket. If the dog is fearful, the fear will be worsened by his or her inability to make sense of what is going on and inability to express this fear physically.
I love my dog and I would never want to worsen his already heightened stress. But I figured that she knows what she is doing and could negate my worries about giving him the drug during a time when he would be experiencing fear. I sent her an email with my concerns, and was very non-​threatening and courteous. I literally included the line «I’m not the professional here, so maybe there is something I’m completely missing.»
I got a voicemail from her office the next day asking me to call back to talk. I was already in the South Park area with my family who were in town to visit, so we just dropped by the office. I figured that she would just address my concerns and that would be that. But, we walked into her office and she was extremely rude and unprofessional. I could hear the shaking of her voice, she was so unnecessarily angry. She completely demeaned me in front of my family. Instead of giving me an actual explanation of why it was acceptable in this case for my dog to take Ace, she pretty much just said (paraphrasing here) ‘Because I’m a professional and I said so.’ This was on top of speaking to me like I’m an idiot and that I should trust her over «Dr. Google.»
Sorry, but if you’re in a position that allows you to sell people drugs for their pets, you should at least have something to back up your decisions. I wasn’t there to argue with her or accuse her of anything, but after our conversation, I have no faith in her as a vet. If a vet is confident and knowledgable, they should have no problem with fielding their clients’ concerns with any of their recommended treatments. Reaming clients in front of their families for having concerns is completely unacceptable. The way she treated me was no way to treat a client, let alone a human being. My family and I are completely shocked by her behavior. I’m very glad that I researched this drug for myself, because it at least resulted in Jayme’s true colors being revealed. On to the next one.

I can’t even begin to explain how wonderful this place is. I had to make an emergency visit here after having two failed visits at two other vets in Chula Vista for my beloved kitty. My cat was suffering with kidney failure that the other two vets failed to test her for. Dr. Jayme was absolutely a blessing. She is caring and compassionate and you can really tell she cares about the pets AND owners. She was honest and wasn’t trying to make a quick buck. I had to make the difficult decision to lay my kitty to rest and Dr. Jayme was the most compassionate and empathetic vet I have ever been to. She kept her clinic open late for us so we could have extra time to say good bye. She was super generous with her fees for us because she said «I don’t ever care, I can see how much you loved your cat and it’s not about the money.» Wow… what an amazing woman. When my heart has healed and is open to owning a new rescue kitty, I will be brining them to her without a doubt.
Thank you again Dr. Jayme for everything you did for my mom and me that day. It was very difficult and emotional for us but you were such a blessing. You are absolutely amazing.

Took both my dogs here this past week (darn kennel cough outbreak!) and was very impressed with Dr. Jayme. She could tell my chihuahua had bad allergies on first glance and has been really helpful in finding some new solutions for him. She showed genuine interest and her treatment plan for both dogs has been spot on. I’ll be moving my dogs future medical care over to her.
It’s great to have a caring, talented vet in the neighborhood! Also for veterinarian care, the prices are very reasonable.
