I was a tenant for about 11 months. When we were searching for apartments they were very helpful with any questions we had. We had water damage in the vanity in the bathroom and they quickly sent someone out to replace the entire vanity. I believe Katie is the one who scheduled she is very friendly and helpful! They also worked around our schedule. When it was time to turn in our 30 days notice they weren’t rude at all instead congratulated us because we were close to closing escrow on our new home. I was a bit worried about the security deposit because of the short amount of time we lived there. We left the apartment just as we found it, if not better. They returned almost the entire deposit only taking for carpet cleaning which was completely fair. I would definitely recommend Mark Andersen and Associates.

We are current tenants with Mark Andersen & Associates, and have been for little over a year now. I’m writing this review because our experience has been nothing but phenomenal. Regardless of the interaction, whether it be by phone, walk-​in or email, we’ve always been treated with respect and kindness before, during and after the application process as well as during routine maintenance issues with our home. The contractors they are affiliated with are equally extraordinary. We are dismayed with the lack of 5 stars from some other reviewers & wanted to share with prospective clients that Mark Andersen & Associates is a professional and pleasant property management company worthy of your consideration.

Stepped into this office to turn in my application. There’s three useless girls sitting in the front, that dont greet you as you walk in. Just stare!!! Its like high school all over again. As she was reviewing my application, she was laughing at it. UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE! I thought this company being as big as it was, would hire a friendly and caring office staff. Guess not!
Prior to this. I had call regarding a property. The woman on the phone was extremely rude and sounded like my questions were a waste of her time. Before I could even finish my question regarding a property for rent, she put me on hold without any notice. I was on hold for about 7 mins. It was probably the same girl that laughed at my application.
The treatment you receive when you call this office or even step into this office is extremely appalling and disrespectful. I’ve always known this company to be a huge and well known. I’ve actually worked with them before with my last employer. I’m completely shocked on the way they treat potential tenants. I regret not asking to speak with a manager.

I thought they were all nice and sweet when I was about to rent from them. Unfortunately, it wasn’t til I moved out that the headache began. I had a pre and post inspection done, but that didn’t keep Tammie from taking half of my deposit for paint patches that were there when I moved in. She was so rude as soon as she got on the phone when I called to question the charges. I have never been so uncomfortable speaking to someone. I addressed her tone and she stated that that’s how she speaks. Wow. Any who, I called back later to speak to someone else. Aracely, was wonderful. Soft spoken and understanding. She actually took the time to listen to me instead of just assuming I was lying. She had me fax over all my proof and by the end of the day she had apologized for THEIR mistake. A few days later the rest of my deposit arrived in the mail. Hey Tammie, if that’s how you speak to humans, you should reconsider your job. You were so rude to me… even though you were in wrong. I hope your boss reads this post so they know how you treat people.

Don’t waste your time. I provided them everything drove all the way to San Dimas too provided everything to be considered and to qualified for the apartment. This was Friday at 4:10 they told my husband for us to call first thing in the a.m. on Monday to check the status of the application. My husband called monday morning bright n early just for them to tell him that the apartment has been rented already. So we provided everything they asked for and they didn’t even bother to run our credit to see if we where potential candidates. Bs if u ask me. So we request a refund for the credit check (another headache) let’s see how long they take to refund our money. Seriously don’t waste your time. They just end up giving you the run around.

No one ever answers the damn phone!!!

It’s a proven that it was never just one person leaving this «place» unhappy. Went above and beyond to apply for a property walked to the bank to pay the credit fees. Next day bright and early the thing that answers the phone states it’s been rented already” wait so you didn’t even run my credit after I go through all the trouble to email additional documents to your office for you to not even put me in consideration as a potential tenant? Girl say’s that «Araceli will refund-​us» went through a great deal of calls and emails just to be refunded. Head ache, burdensome, be prepared to be put on a wild goose chase. Unprofessional, extremely vague employess. Run don’t waste your time, breath or energy on such rude experience.

So it’s kinda weird for me to see all these bad reviews. I have had a great experience with this property management company so far. First off everyone I have come into contact with has been very nice, helpful and most of all professional. I was looking for a house to rent and came across their add on zillow. I called was given an appointment to see the property. There was a large group of us. So at first it was hard to see the house. The agent John was welcoming and funny. He waited patiently for everyone to look at the house. Then spoke to all of us in a large group. I’m now renting this house and I love it. Only problem we had was the fence in the backyard was kinda old and boards needed to be replaced. Normally this wouldn’t be a huge problem but I have dogs and neighbors sharing fence have dogs and we all would rather be safe. I went down to the office and the next day a handy man came down to check the fence and see what could be done. A week later he came back and went above and beyond to make sure the fence was secure for both sets of dogs. I was extremely happy. The gentleman even nailed boards at the bottom of the fence to make sure little dogs couldn’t get threw. I haven’t been renting from this company for long but so far I’m very happy with the way they took care of me and my pets

I’m about to become an official tenant tomorrow, but wanted to share my experience so far.
I had a 4:30 appointment to see the unit I was interested in. I wound up on East Dexter instead of West. Already late I called the agent John back because he had already called me to see if I was on my way. There was no answer and after figuring out where I went wrong I tried him one more time and he answered and said he showed the unit to one person and waited for a bit and figured I must have changed my mind. He said if I could be there in 5 minutes he would come back, which he did. I liked what I saw and got the applications from him. That left a good impression on me.
Arcelli was in contact with me a few times during the application process and as she reminded me at one point was really working with me to get this application done. My son’s job didn’t return their call to verify his employment and they were about to do an alternate verification but my son’s supervisor finally gave us a direct number so that they could do the verification.
I had a bankruptcy discharged 3 years ago and it didn’t come up, so there might be more to other’s reviews.
Getting to the signing my son and I have completely different schedules and the staff has been accomodating and flexible. My application originally stated February 15 as a move in date and they didn’t hold me to that when we had these dealaysin the process.
I think as one other stated that there is always two sides to a story and so far I’ve found this company to be more than willing to work with me.

I am completely upset about the treatment my fiancé and i received from Mark Andersen property management. The staff I came in contact with led me and my fiancé to believe we had a strong chance at the house we planned on renting. We jumped through the necessary hoops in a timely manner. Each time we spoke with araceli she was rude to both of us. Very poor phone etiquette as well as poor professionalism. I understand being turned down for my lack of credit due to my past. (Which we were told past bankruptcy did not matter) although I understand that part .we currently pay 2400 the asking rent of the place we are trying to rent is 1715 we have never been late on our rent and we did a way more extensive background check. Please if your considering going with this company DON’T! there must be a reason why they have a small amount of stars I will be contacting the BBB

I saw a rental ad and called the office to find out if it’s still available and wanted to arrange for showing. The lady receiving the call told me the agent would be showing the apartment from 2:30pm. I asked from 2:30pm until what time, she said the agent would be there. So I asked for the agent’s phone number. She said she took my number down and the agent would call in case he runs late.
I got to the apartment by 3pm that afternoon but I didn’t see anyone showing any unit. I called the rental number but no one picked up. Understandable, it was a Saturday.
I wandered on and off the property until a lady who’s living there noticed me and pointed the rental unit out, told me to peek through the window. She said the agent already left. Fortunately, I didn’t like the unit.
My question is, why isn’t there a set time frame for showing that you can announce to the potential clients first. If you had my number, why didn’t you call to see if I’m on my way? I’ve been to showings for sale and for rent, I don’t think the industry standard for showing is less than half and hour.

I have used Mark Andersen and his office for years for purchasing homes, selling homes and management of my rental properties and they are fantastic. They do a professional job and save me a lot of time managing the properties.
You can’t go wrong with Mark and his professional office staff.

I am a current tenant at a property run by this company. I had an incident last night with the emergency person. My husband works nights and came home to find a car parked in our designated parking spot. U need a parking pass to park on the street over night. So we called the emergency line and left a message. No one returned our call so we call the tow company and it didn’t work because a manager had to call. Then we called the police station and nothing could be done. So an hour later I call again. The woman answers the phone and says she got my message. She continued with her rude unprofessional attitude saying I shouldn’t be waking her and her family up, that it wasn’t an emergency, that I should have parking passes (u have to purchase) on hand for when this happens, and she said she there was nothing she could do. Then she corrected herself and said there was nothing she would do and that it was my problem. I was extremely furious!!! They will be receiving my letter regarding this issue.

I received the most terrible and extremely rude service from ‘Tammy’ after moving out of one of their rental properties in W. Covina. I called in to question some of the charges they applied to my deposit and Tammy quickly got defensive and said I was being, and I quote, ‘accusive’ (is that even a word?). Anyway, this company deducted from my deposit having to put the burners back on the stove because we put them in the dishwasher to dry after we washed them, having to put batteries in the smoke detector (s), and walk the trash out to the front to name a few. She went on and even began raising her voice as if I was being accusive (lol), and she replied with ‘thats how i talk’ when i asked her not to raise her voice. I went as far as apologizing for upsetting her! Overall, terrible customer service experience. Do not hire them if you are looking a positive experience.

To the owner of the house on Oak Hili:
Fire this property management company NOW! They are not looking out for your best interests as they profess to do. I firmly believe that they are partly the reason why your house has not been rented out over the past few months and is still on the market. Went to see 11−06−12
My husband and I made an appointment to see your property and were unable to do so because the key was not in the lockbox. John, the nice gentleman who was there to show us the house, called the home office to let them know that the key was missing. We asked the home office if someone could call us as soon as they found the key so we could take a look at it later, but NOBODY EVER CALLED US BACK! I had to call them back the next day to find out what happened. I was told that they couldn’t find the key, but they had a spare. However, I found it troubling that nobody ever called us back, at least as a courtesy, considering the time we took out of our day to see the house but were unable to do so. I decided not to make an issue about it, but I did have a few questions for you (the owner of the property. I wanted the to ask you if:
1. Could you please have all spiders and ants killed outside of the house since there were spider webs and ants all over the outside of the house
2. Would you accept a Deposit equal to the rent and waive the pet deposit since the dog is a very small yorkie. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask prior to filling out a rental application.
I was told that they couldn’t reach out to you until we filled out an application. However, they did pass me along to 2 different people to see if it was possible to let you know of my request. The last person that I spoke with was extremely rude and acted as if my requests were stupid. Frankly, I had enough and hung up on her. First, we weren’t able to see the house because the key was missing. Next, we weren’t provided with the decency and courtesy of a callback. Last, the rudeness was too much to bear.
I’m convinced that the Mark Anderson property management ‘s lack of professionalism is contributing to your house not being rented out, and they might not be communicating to you some of the potential issues you have with the house. I can accept that they didn’t want to contact you about my requests, but their complete lack of respect to your potential renters is completely unacceptable. I have already made a formal complaint about them on the Better Business Bureau’s website. If your a Unilocaler and KNOWS this company does not deserve an A+ rating, then go the extra mile and make a formal complaint. Join me :)

I unfortunately had to leave my current residence in Monrovia that was managed by Mark Andersen and Associates. They were very kind and understanding in my having to leave. The time I lived in the rental was great, the home was wonderful to live in and they helped with making it a great place to live.
