Air Flow Pros Heating And Air Conditioning

Our Air conditioning unit-​HVAC was not working in full strength. Called Home depot to tune up the AC– Dennis from Atlas Trillo (contractors to Home Depot) came in, inspected the HVAC unit. went up to the attic and mentioned that the evaporator coil is broken and the water is dripping into the heating unit and then into control panel, and compressor is unable to take the load. He advised to shut off the HVAC unit immediately and recommended get the entire HVAC unit replaced ASAP. He also gave a rip off quote of 15k USD for a basic system.
Since then I had sleepness nights and kept calling the other HVAC repair shops. Had no luck from any of the places — the response I got was they are booked and might take a month to respond.
Next day I went to look for Diamond Certified Vendors that repair the HVAC units. I came through the top Diamond Certified vendor Airflow Pros. They had an emergency after hours contact number. I called that number and then guy named Rudy for my rescue.
It was 8 pm in the night. It took 10 min for Rudy to fix by Air conditioning unit over the phone — yes over the phone. He explained to me that the water dripping from the Evap. the coils was a phenomenon as a result of poor air circulation mostly caused by the blocked filters, in most cases. He gave me instructions step by step what needs to be done. I followed the same and guess what in 30 min my AC was up and running in full flow with proper cooling.
Rudy followed up the next day to see everything was working fine — it was just 2 days back btw. I am highly impressed with the professionalism and true knowledge Rudy has. Truly an angel to me. I would highly recommended him for the guys who are fooled by the other HVVAC companies — especially Home depot who are misguiding the customers and charging a good amount of money for nothing.
I would definitely use Rudy’s from Airflow Pros services in the event I have any issues with my HVAC units in the times to come

Our heater stopped working last week. Usually we re-​light the pilot light and it works but this time was a no go. Instead of using our usual handyman we wanted to get the expertise of a heating professional and I am so glad we did. Rodolfo explained to me what was going on, fixed the problem quickly, and didn’t try to upsell me on anything else. He also explained just generally how these old heating systems work and what I need to do for regular maintenance. Super useful information and 100% trustworthy. Rudy was fantastic in helping me solve my furnace problems 2 times. One time, he solved my over heating problem in less than 1 hour and got my furnace working again after it had shut down completely. Another time, he figured out why I did not have gas going into my furnaces. He was like a detective figuring things out. I was so relieved each time he solved my problem because I had brand new unfinished hardwood floors in the house waiting to be installed and the furnace had to work properly to create the right temperature conditions in the house! He really knows his stuff and he takes the time to explain things! Very honest and helpful! I highly recommend Rudy and his company to anyone!

I am always worried to call home repair companies because you are at their mercy for a diagnosis. Today Rudy came to troubleshoot my furnace. He was so helpful and informative. He demonstrated how to change the filter and advice on cleaning the ducts (basically only have the intake cleaned, the rest is a waste of money). He was patient and thorough. I felt the price was fair. I would definitely recommend.

Our furnace stopped blowing hot air during the last cold/​rainy week we had. I called around to get an appointment. Getting the appointment was initially a little difficult (I’d call and we’d play phone tag, particularly since they typically don’t pick up initially but so you have to leave a message, but at least they call back very quickly).
Once we got an appointment, Jose showed up on time and quickly identified that we needed a new motor (and not a whole new furnace!). He said he’d call around to find the part and would get back to us on Friday (2 days from the original appointment). We had to do a bit of follow up to find out what was going on with the part and whether it arrived or not, but once again, after we finally got the appointment set, Jose showed up right on time and was in and out of there in 20 minutes.
So overall, Jose is awesome, the work was done quickly, felt that they were very honest and didn’t try to upsell, the cost was much lower than expected, they take credit cards and email the receipts instantly, but I took off a star for the communication part being a little less than perfect. Tip: texting them seems to get a quicker response.

I used AirFlow Pros to install a furnace at my home. I hadn’t had one before so they had to figure out where to put it and how to run all the pipes and ducts. They were super professional and responsive. There was some misunderstanding about the location of the furnace within the closet but they fixed it with no issues. They also provided excellent service with a minor issue I had after the job was done and paid in full. I would highly recommend using their services.

We have lived in our now 108 year-​old house in the inner-​RIchmond district of San Francisco for 20 years. During that time we’ve had an inadaquete gravity heater that unevenly heated the first floor (and made lots of noise while at it) and no heating or air conditioning for the second floor where we sleep.
Having had enough, this winter we called AirFlow Pros after reading the rave reviews on Unilocal.Who was this «Rudy» that so many reviews talked about?
We met Rudy first-​thing when he came to give us a quote. A real people-​person with obvious pride in his family and the business they run. He assessed our situation and recommended a creative solution to our problem.
The upstairs work posed unexpected challenges, but his crew was committed to getting it done and getting it done right. He brought in a contractor and an electrician (both named Clarence) and a installation crew (both named Juan) that were all delightful and obviously skilled.
Everyone bent over backwards to make accommodations to our schedules, at their own expense. They were regularly on the phone to each other coordinating the work — a real team.
For the first week after the installation we wandered around the house marveling at the even temperature and the quiet operation of the equipment. The experience was entirely positive. It was a pleasure to do business with AirFlow Pros.

Great experience from the first phone call through the completion of the work. I had a very old system that I inherited when I bought the house.
They explained why my existing vents were to be moved to maximize balance and productivity. They took care of me before, during, and even after the job was completed making sure I was a satisfied customer, and I am! Thank you, Jose and his crew! Every single person I dealt with was professional, respectful, and eager to please. Couldn’t be happier, my home is warm and toasty and has 2 zones that I can control at all times. I just moved to San Fran into a new apartment and turned on the heat since it was unseasonably chilly. The heater appeared to not be properly hooked up as the thermostat and the furnace wouldn’t shut off once it reached its target temperature. So my apartment quickly became an oven — either it would be 99 degrees or I’d have to have the heat off. One morning the extreme heat triggered the carbon monoxide detector to go off.
I reached out to various heating repair companies and most had answering machines with recordings saying they were too busy to accept new customers at this time of year. Air Flow Pros returned my call despite it being «busy season» and scheduled time for Rudy to come out asap. They sent me an email the day before to confirm the appointment which made me feel comfortable they wouldn’t be a no show.
Rudy was very professional, quickly diagnosed the issue and even fixed all the wiring on the spot. I really appreciated how he took the time to explain the issues (he said the wires connecting to the thermostat weren’t hooked up properly) and reassure me that the carbon monoxide detector wouldn’t be going off anymore. He also pointed out various code violations and instructed me to address them with my landlord for safety concerns. Would definitely recommend these guys!

Carlos helped us out. He knows what he is doing and is very clear on explaining the root causes of the problem, as well as the cost/​benefits of repairing vs replacing the furnace.

I had my furnace go out during a «peak furnace problem» season on a weekend in December. It was blowing cold air constantly, and showing «code 33» which basically means it detected flames or overheated, and went into a safety «cooldown» mode. I called a bunch of other heating places and no one could make it out to my place. A couple folks were generous over the phone and tried to help me deal with the code coming out of my furnace, but to no avail.
Only Air Flow Pros was able to send someone out. I think I may have had a bit of luck: one of the owners (I think his name was Rudy?) answered. He said the other guys were all busy on calls, but that there was one person who could do it as his last call of the day… him. He was at my place a couple hours later, and identified the problem in rather short order: the furnace was overheating, and there were several likely culprits, some of which had cheaper fixes than others:
— The intake duct size (diameter) was narrower than typical for the large size furnace I have, which limits the inflow, increasing the odds of overheating. This is expensive to fix.
— Several of the heating (output) vents were closed, which increases build up of heat because the furnace can’t get rid of the heat fast enough. We opened them. (Free to open them, but it does increase heating cost as unoccupied rooms are heated.)
— The («never-​needs-​to-​be-​replaced») filter was almost completely blocked. He replaced it with a disposable/​replaceable one, and charged me only a nominal fee for it. He mentioned that the «never needs to be replaced» filters tend to let fine particles through, which makes them popular recommendations among companies that also happen to do duct cleaning! :)
— The gas input was set to maximum. I learned a way to reduce this safely to reduce the amount of burn. (But be careful doing this yourself. If you reduce it too much, the flame will not ignite and you’re in trouble.)
The service call, diagnostic, and filter set me back $ 200, which struck me as a bargain because there were zero other folks that could come out that day, and because the guy was so informative and helpful. Thanks guys!

I contacted Air Flow Pros because my furnace stopped working. They were courteous and responsive by phone and were able to come to my house the next day.
The technician diagnosed the problem as a failed control value. He quoted me $ 800 and 3 – 4 day turn around to do the repair. However, he strongly, very strongly, recommended against doing the repair and instead urged me to replace the furnace for $ 3300. He said the furnace was 32 years old and this furnace only had a 25 year lifetime. He said it was extremely rusted internally and that not only was it not smart to invest $ 800 in a furnace that might fail for some other reason again soon, because of the age of the furnace, it was also not safe.
I then had a PG&E technician come out. He agreed with the diagnosis made by Air Flow Pros but told me I should just get the part replaced. He said the furnace was in fine shape. I specifically asked him if because of its age I should replace it and he said absolutely not, no reason to replace a furnace just because it was old.
I then had Apollo Heating & Ventilating come out. This technician made the same diagnosis. I asked him if he was concerned about the age of the furnace. He said it was in fine shape and age didn’t matter. He replaced the part on the spot and charged me $ 395, half of the Air Flow Pros quote.

Was the week before Christmas, not the time for the furnace to break down. Used Unilocal to find heating /​HVAC repair. Little did I know that this is a BUSY time of year. Made a bunch of phone calls with no one answering, just answering machines.
The guys at Ocean Air answered and said they were not going service calls because of a medical emergency but would give me referrals. KUDOS to Ocean Air for answering the phone, giving me a referral and generally being totally professional.
So Flow Pro was one of the referrals. They promptly returned my phone call. They told me it was a busy time of year and the earliest they could see me was the day after Christmas. I told the person on the phone, that my mother in law was arriving that evening for Christmas. And he took pity on me and squeeze me in the next day. Rudy arrived 15 minutes early and was courteous, friendly and professional. Found my problem, gave me my options and said he would return tomorrow, Christmas eve, to repair. I have an old SF house with an ancient furnace, he had to go to his distributor for the part.
Rudy returned Christmas eve, repaired my furnace and saved my Christmas. Had a great experience with Rudy, a fellow SF resident. We talked about our kids going to local schools and how he was even working Christmas day.

I’m editing my review. Jose came out and looked at the furnace, even with its inconvenient location under the house and got my heater working. Yay! He took the time to explain the situation to my satisfaction. I give a thumbs-​up to Air Flow Pros

Our furnace went out just as the weather turned cold, Thanksgiving week. Rut row.
AFP was so busy with other customers (who had deferred furnace maintenance like me!) that they couldn’t make a housecall anytime soon. Neither could any other heating company I called.
Fortunately, Rudy at AFP called me and helped troubleshoot the problem over the phone. He then told me where I could buy a new part in San Francisco that same day. I bought the part, installed it, and got the furnace working. Rudy checked in with me several times to make sure all went smooth, charging me nothing. Talk about «above and beyond». Rudy and AFP really saved me.

Very happy with Jose’s work today. I’d been told by another company that my wall heater wasn’t repairable and I would need to spend thousands on a replacement unit. Jose had our heater working in around an hour. Very courteous and professional. It’s my wife’s birthday today and she said it was a wonderful present. Thank you Jose!

Called today because furnace would not turn on. They called back within 2 hours and gave me an appointment for 3 days out but promised to see if anyone was available sooner. Lo and behold, I get a call from Rudy just a couple of hours later. He’s in the neighborhood and could stop by. 15 minutes later my furnace is working (the fuse on the control panel in the crawl space was blown). And he didn’t even charge me!!!

Had our furnance go out and couldn’t even find people to come over to take a look at it for weeks as everyone was booked. I called these guys because my air ducks collapsed. I’ve a 3 story home and tons of tubing in the crawl space had fallen to the ground for unknown reasons. I’m having a new floor put in and needed to get the new mess out of the way. Apparently the builders had wrapped a single piece metal band around them and thought it was sufficient to hold the mess together. Rudy came out and gave me a free estimate then came back 2 days later with a crew of two and replaced my filter, inspected and flushed my unit. Its valve was a bit clogged. Explained its proper operation as well as suggested routine maintenance in the future to avoid my buying another before its time. Not to mention they re-​strapped and rehung the twisted not of tubing.
My home is now breathing again at optimum efficiency. Besides that it was cheap! It cost me less than taking the three of them to lunch.
