Owner Herman Chin opened Akiko’s in 1998 after finishes his culinary school and work as Chef and manager at Silk Hotel in San Francisco. He loves cooking and focus on high quality of food.

Chef Herman loves cooking and focus on high quality of ingredients. He attended Cordon Blue college in San Francisco and worked for the Silk restaurant as manager and Herman Chin opened Akiko’s in 1998. He endeavor to use the finest farmer market produce and local sustainable fishes. Offering all food lovers a chance to explore the flavors of Japanese cuisine.
