I had never heard of this show, but couldn’t believe what I had been missing out on once I saw it! This gem of a show is constantly changing to stay up to date with the current pop culture and is absolutely hysterical and engaging… I didn’t want it to be over! Great singing and amazing costumes — such a delight and one of the best things to do when visiting San Francisco!

I would come back to San Francisco just to watch this show. If you are a out of towner this should be on your to do list. Even the back cheap seats are good ones. Highly recommended you will not regret it. I would suggest being there early because the seats are not assigned. Just the sections are assigned based on what’s your price range you are looking to spend.

I’ve heard that this show was a must-​see in San Francisco. After years of wanting to go, my fiancé surprised me with tickets on a date night. The show was hilarious, the talent was fantastic, and the theater was beautiful. I loved the music and ornate costumes. Definitely check this out if you’re in San Francisco, and get dinner and drinks at nearby Don Pisto’s before the show.

I’ll give the show 3 stars for the talent of the singers. The costumes and hats are amusing, but the writing is all cheese. Normally I am a big fan of cheese, which is why I was really looking forward to a night of campy fun. Sadly, we all found the humor to be obvious and lacking in cleverness or wit. The production was gaudy and not baudy. It’s not good when you’re constantly looking at your watch in a 90 minute show! I love the idea of this production, and clearly there are many others who found it a fun romp, but me and my party were not in that «camp.»

Friends treated us to this show to celebrate my husbands 50^th birthday. What a fantastic show! We laughed the entire time. The performers were very talented, costumes were hysterical and the music was just so fun. They keep it current too since they’ve been around for 40 years and they had current presidential election jokes going on. Absolutely hysterical. Definitely recommend!

This show is a fun time! It’s goofy and lighthearted, and the actors/​actresses were very talented. It was funny and They had a good dose of pop culture references and jokes: they even went there with a bill Cosby trial joke.
Bernie, Hilary and Bill Clinton, Madonna, Putin — no one was safe. :)
I wish that the songs went on for longer, it seemed like they’d sing a short chorus and a couple lines then go back to dialogue.
Tip: bring cash for drinks! You will be served while sitting. There’s a little cocktail table every few chairs, and you can order a bottle or glass of wine, beer, chocolate.

I really wanted to like this but it was just so… dumb. The performers are good singers but the production is lackluster. Lame jokes, cheap costumes and sets, definitely not worth the price of admission.

When to the 5:00 show with my family, really nice really enjoyed even my 11year old love it can’t wait to go back for another show.

I laughed hysterically the entire 1 hour 30 hours. I’ve lived here 6 years and shame on me. This musical is amazing. Enough said. Go see it. Staff is great. Worth your hard earned money! Love love love BBB!

I LOVE this show! Hubs took me here in 2014 as a one of our first dates and I loved the moment we watched it! Then we took a friend of ours who was from out of town, here in California for the first time in the fall of 2015 and she loved it. And we went again just this past weekend 3÷27÷2016 and took one of my oldest friends from east coast Canada to see it as well. I was a tad nervous because I know she doesn’t like musicals but I knew for the fact it was different from most musicals we usually see, so I was confident afterwards that this show will woo her into loving it and it did! It is the world’s longest running musical revue and one of the most popular San Francisco attractions, is a high energy pop culture satire and the perfect night out with friends.
It’s a small club which makes it more intimate, fun and that more amazing. It’s a unisex bathroom to the left when you walk in and a great little bar to the right. The usher show you to your seat and then a server comes and takes your drink order (they also offer snacks like chocolate, cookies & pretzels).
The show is about snow white looking for love and she travels the world looking for her prince charming and along the way she meets all these people who help her. They do a lot of spoofs on different politicians, athletes, chefs, television stars, singers, etc. Which end up being very funny because its over the top and every person in the show is very passionate about each and every role they take on. The creator Steve Silver and now his wife who continues to keep his legacy alive. The costumes are amazing and the hats OMG! It will make you laugh and cry thought out the show using the many different forms of music, pop, politics and costumes with a lot of current references and jokes.
It a must see at least once in your lifetime, even if your not into musicals, they get you to be apart of it at the end, the energy is really high there so people are laughing and clapping along. Definitely recommend it to anyone over the age of 21 (i think kids can only go on Sunday afternoon show). Do get there early and line up because every section is first come first serve.

I was just passing by the Club Fugazi on my way to work and the memories hit me. My oh my, I really can’t say enough great things about this show. It’s a masterpiece. Already the longest running revue worldwide, I can see them continuing for years to come. This is a show that is truly representative of San Francisco and is one of the main things that makes this city what it is today.
Steve Silver (the creator) is a genius. He made a show that constantly makes you laugh using so many forms: music, pop, politics and the world famous big hats! I mean no joke, these hats are humongous (and are also what make this show so different). What is the show you ask? It’s about Snow White of course! Each show follows Snow White around the world on her journey to finding «the one». Along her journey she meets politicians (and trust me these are always the funniest parts), athletes, chefs, television stars, etc. I will say this: are you guys watching the 2016 presidential debates right now? This is the prime time to go see this show and watch them spoof Donald Trump.
The production team is incredible. Every single person is such a professional. If you ever get a chance to meet them, you’ll see what a passion they have for this job and for entertainment. The producer of the show is Steve Silver’s widow, Jo Silver. Wow, she has absolutely kept the legacy alive. Can I really say anything more? YES! The section of Green Street that is right between Columbus Avenue and Powell Street was actually renamed to «Beach Blanket Babylon Boulevard» two decades ago in honor of Steve Silver– that should tell you everything you need to know about how good this show is.
Final verdict: Beach Blanket Babylon is one of the most unique experiences this city has to offer. 15,000+ performances later, it remains a staple in San Francisco pop culture. You will never walk by the entrance and not see a line out the door. There’s a reason for that, as no show that they have ever performed was truly the same. Each performance is a completely new experience, making this a must-​see in the city. You already know what you should be doing next– book the tickets! You will not regret it.

Wow. I went to an evening show without reading any of the reviews and had no idea what to expect. The end result — a delightful 90 minutes of fun and music and a lot of laughter. The cast was splendid and had a great take on current affairs, the music was awesome, and the hats — oh my!!! I won’t get into any of the details and I really think you would enjoy the show more without reading up on it beforehand. Tickets were pretty cheap for 29 $ (through goldstar) for the rear cabaret section, but it is worth splurging a bit to get better seats up front. Seating is first come first served and fill up pretty quickly. We arrived about 20 minutes before showtime and got a cute little table to ourselves. Drinks were alright but service was really slow.

Nobody is spared in this satirical comedy at Club Fugazi in the North Beach district of SF. Politicians, movie stars, singers, athletes, world leaders, you name it, there is a skit about it.
The show keeps up a good pace and the laughs keep coming.
The performers are pretty versatile, singing, dancing, even flying out to the audience at one point. Costumes are bright and right on target, The hats are especially entertaining.
The Club is on the smaller side so virtually every seat is a good one with good views. You can reserve a seat but most of the seating is first come first serve.
Seating takes place one hour before showtime and drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks, coffee) as well as snacks are served before and during the show. If you want a prime seat I suggest you line up about 30 minutes before the doors open.
A lot to like here, Beach Blanket Babylon reminds me a some great shows we saw in Greenwich Village NYC many years ago.

Old institution that becoming a tourist attraction with beeline before the show as early as 1.5hrs before the show as it is free settings.
Amazing head piece that as high as one story building literally, however the acts and storyline was just poorly done. Some part was funny but most of them were just awkward.

Secured tickets online few days inadvance and since reserved seats unavailable, nabbed 2 lower FC (front center) seats @ $ 48 each. I thought we were gonna be in for a bad treat knowing its first come first seated but was sweetly mistaken.
We arrived at 6pm, picked tix up at will call, stood outside for 7pm doors open for 8pm show. We were 2^nd group in line and boy. Did it fill up going around the corner! What a great night… Waiting inline we made some great new friends… Peeps from UK, Puerto Rico and Redding. Great time!
Tix/​location superb — 2^nd row with tables along with table side service of inexpensive wine (rebranded 2 buck chuck? And beers (Sierra Nevada. Yum) for 5 bones. Bevs and cute choc — very nice.
Show was ok– Costumes and actors/​singers superb but the content wasn’t as funny and cutting edge as we’ve seen in other shows (ie — look at Esther’s Follies/​Austin).

This is a MUST see musical! I came here for my team holiday party and sat upstairs in the balcony. We bought a pin for unlimited free drinks and snacks.
At first I wasn’t very interested in going because I was never interested in musical plays, however I enjoyed Beach Blanket Babylon so much! The play is so entertaining and funny. It is based on s a storyline and adds in current events that has been happening. Some current events can be like the the election, Kim&Kanye, Iggy, Beyonce and so forth. The singing was amazing, there was on part where a lady sang «How Do I Live» by Leann Rimes and her voice touched my heart. Costumes were sparkly and fun and you can’t forget their big hats!
Highly recommend this musical! I will definitely come here again :)

Hysterical. Absolutely freaking hysterical! I loved every minute!
I have to admit, i’m NOT a theater/​broadway kinda gal. So when my husband said he was taking me here, I was not thrilled. HOWever, as soon as I realized it’s like a musical version of SNL, I was hooked! They made fun of all the «big» names of the day (Trump, Kardashian, Palin, Clintons, Pelosi, Putin etc etc). A recent transplant from DC, I love current events and politics — so this was right up my alley!
The costumes and voices were unmatched. Perfect in every way! I even think I have some great Halloween ideas for next year!
Apparently the seating is along the lines of first come first served (in specific areas), so show up early! Beers were only $ 5, so no need to worry about paying over priced rates here!
I can definitely see why they’ve been in business for so many years! Bravo!

We went to the 9:30 pm show on my birthday recently — I’d never been to BBB but have heard great things over the years and finally saw the show! We had seats in Producer’s Row (not advertised, you kinda have to know someone in the show to get these) and couldn’t have asked for better seats.
I was laughing, singing, dancing in my seat the entire time. BBB is a hoot! This show highlighted the 2016 presidential campaign candidates and ended with a Christmas holiday spectacle that was so beautiful. The actors/​actresses are hilarious and never miss a beat.
The club is intimate, seats are cozy (close and small, but it adds to the ambiance of the venue), and I can’t comment on how early you’d need to get here to grab good seats (ours were reserved) but a line had formed about 45 minutes before showtime.
If you have a soft spot for satire and flamboyant costumes with fabulous acting and singing, definitely check out BBB!

Super cheesy and kitschy show that blends some local San Francisco flavor and references with sometimes amusing satire on pop culture and political figures. The story revolves around a Snow White character who traverses the city, and the entire world, in search of her Prince Charming. Without spoiling the ending, it’s a drawn-​out, if sometimes endearing, story and show, with the highlights being the clever costuming and incredibly elaborate headpieces.
It would all go down better if they could serve alcohol to your table, but alas, the only choices are soda and chocolates. Depending on your entertainment standards, this may still be worth checking off your bucket list at some point.

I have no idea how much my seat cost because someone brought me, but what an interesting show!
I kept asking what it was about and my relatives said it was just about current events so I honestly had no idea what to expect. The atmosphere of the place is super chill. I sat upstairs where there were servers going around taking drink orders because we weren’t supposed to go downstairs to the bar. It was a lovely experience and it’s basically a comedy musical bar show. From politics, to name brands, to SF stereotypes, to multiple musical artists, this show had a variety of jokes and skits to make everyone laugh!
I thought the costumes were really interesting. All of the characters had such big wigs or hairpieces. They almost looked like bobble heads! It definitely made it all more visually interesting in such a tight space. Like I said, it’s more of a comedy show so while there was a common theme that linked each skit to the next, it wasn’t one big intricate show. A lot of it was really random and unexpected. So, don’t expect to see Broadway quality story lines because it’s not that kinda musical, but do expect to be entertained! I recommend checking it out at least once in your life!

This show is packed with humor, big hair, big hats, and big personalities! The performers do an amazing job! The show is 90 minutes long and has no intermission, but honestly, it will feel as if the show went by way too fast. Fun for all, young and old.
If you can buy your tickets in advance online, sometimes they sell out quickly, it’s a very popular show.
