located right next to underdog. the bulk of their menu is vegetarian. my expectations were low because all the sandwiches and wraps are premade and sitting in a fridge, but the wrap wasnt bad. everything was pretty fresh — wheat tortilla, cucumbers, mozarella? cheese, olives, artichokes, etc. not bad, but i think ill just pay an additional 50 cents and get twice as much food at subway.

They charge $ 1.75 for a cookie the size of a ritz cracker. Overpriced much? I’d say so. Other than that itty-bitty cookie, everything else is priced within reason. The line is usually long in the morning but it moves pretty fast, which is good because I’m usually in such a rush I just grab something and eat while walking to my next destination. One thing they offered last year that they don’t offer now is this brown sugar pastry that I cannot get out of my head. Yes, it tasted that good and it was so different then anything I’ve ever had before. I wish they’d bring it back. It was my main reason for coming here…

This place is perfect for what I use it for(usually in the morning): 1) *****A STRONG cup of Peet’s Coffee***** 2) A banana or apple 3) Muffins or some other pastry 4) A turkey & cheese croissant if I haven’t eaten breakfast and don’t feel like eating #2 or #3 Not to big on the sandwiches or wraps but they still get 5 stars from me. Everybody that works there is very friendly too.

I come here for the Medium Peet’s Coffee. I know for sure that they tone down the coffee beans in the pots, but hell, it’s still Peet’s. Good quick drop in on a cold day. Coffee is usually warm at best…

I got a wrap from here once. I don’t know why, but they didn’t have the first wrap that I wanted… Or the ham and cheese empanadas that enticed me to this place! I took a leap of faith in eating here… Boom, I fell on my face. I think the idea they were trying to create for this place was«fresh, healthy, and delicious» The lettuce didn’t seem fresh, nor did the mushrooms… Healthy? Well, maybe… Healthy if the food isn’t fresh? Eh… Overall, the food was not very enjoyable(definitely not worth what it is). Perhaps this place just isn’t that great because its next to the awesome soul food place.

Worst sandos on campus. I don’t expect farmers’ market quality produce at SFSU but I expect my food to have at least been made within a week of my eating it. The tuna sandwich especially always sounds delicious but 100% of the time ends of being some cruel, dry, stale joke. Yes they serve Peet’s coffee but it’s not made well, sits out all day, and is 25 cents more expensive than the rest of the campus restaurants.

I read these negative reviews and they just don’t reflect my experiences at all. I have found the wraps, salads and sandwiches to be fresh and tasty. The people have been friendly and the coffee is good too. I recommend it.

The only real good thing about this place is that they serve Peets. I used to like it before they moved into their new unit. they’ve jacked the prices up a lot and they are Nazis about their hot water. if you want something to eat dont opt for their healthy stuff. the first bite is good and then you just feel sick afterwards. i only get the turkey and cheese croissants here.

I’m rescinding my old review and docking two stars from Carmelina because I’ve now purchased wraps on two occasions which contained rotten salsa and rotten avocado, respectively. I don’t have money to buy another lunch if I pay for a rotten one, and I’m too much of a wimp to demand a refund, so I’ve basically paid for a hungry belly on two occasions. Everything was fresh and delicious for the first two months or so after their relocation, but now the quality seems to have gone way downhill. I’d like to give them another chance just because they showed such great promise and veggie options are limited at State, but I don’t want to waste another $ 4.50. Bummer.

Yet another hidden coffee & pastry shack on campus. Options are limited, & they tend to run out of things if you’re not there by a certain hour. There’s really nothing bad about the place except for the fact that it’s located right behind the Cesar Chavez Student Center, & you’ve already got Café 101 about 200 feet away. There are other corners of campus where Carmelina La Petit would probably thrive…
