Coyle’s Moving and Storage

I can’t express how much we appreciated Coyles services! They showed up 15 mins early and the movers were very polite, professional and took very good care of our belongings. I even saw new carrying techniques… very impressed. They climbed a lot of stairs getting us into our home and was still friendly the whole time. Wonderful service with wonderful price! We will use them in a heartbeat again! What would’ve taken us days to move ourselves took them Four hours total! Thank you Coyle’s!!!

Mr Coyle and his crew just moved me into my new condo! They were prompt, polite, clean, and efficient. They got all of my valuables from San Bruno to Daly City with ease, and they only took 30 minutes longer than Mr Coyle estimated based on an over-​the-​phone assessment of my belongings.
The whole thing was entirely painless, and I am happy to say that they didn’t lose or break anything.

Coyle’s came highly recommended by a composer friend.
I was initially put off by the poor communication; Tony would always answer the phone, but no call backs and no response to email to cement the schedule. I was worried they weren’t going to show up.
Suffice it to say that Tony appears to be what I would call «old school» (he kept his word), that despite the virtual communication blackout, he showed up perfectly on time and moved the instruments with care and ease, despite our San Francisco stairs. If you can deal with somewhat loose communication but tight execution, I think you’ll be pleased. I will call Tony again if I have to move the B3 or piano.

Coyle’s Moving and Storage just moved my piano from Burlingame to San Mateo. Tony and his staff were efficient, on time, and priced well. He is from Pacifica and his numbers are:

We had an entirely positive experience today with Coyle’s — our first time every using them as a mover. We had arranged for another moving company to move our Yamaha upright piano this afternoon, but when that mover cancelled at the very last minute, we called Coyle’s (based on reviews we saw on Unilocal), and they were willing to show up to do the job within two hours of our calling them! And their price seemed very fair. Four guys arrived — on time — and they were remarkably polite, professional, and friendly. They were extremely careful while doing the move, which was very reassuring. They clearly knew what they were doing. I would recommend them highly!

It has been said already… very poor communication. The driver said he would arrive at 11am for a piano move. We called him at 11:05 to check on arrival time. He said he was 30 minutes away. He was one hour late. When they finally arrive, there was no apology offered or acknowledgement of the delay.
The lead guy was in my house for 5 minutes when I finally had to ask him his name.
Tony and his moving partner actually did a decent job of moving the piano. They seemed to have a handle on moving it appropriately and protecting it by strapping it well into the moving truck.
Unfortunately, Tony’s poor communication and lack of consideration for people’s time hinders him from getting a good review.
Very unprofessional.

We moved twice once to the moving storage place and then to the new home! Nothing was broken or damaged! The guys worked fast and efficiently and Tony supervised it all! I’m happy, and yes would recommend!

Wife was quoted 2 – 3 hours for a 1 bedroom apartment move. They didn’t see the apartment just quoted my wife over the phone. She had to take care of the move because I was at work. The move took WAY longer then expected they arrived on time but 3 hours later they where still loading up the moving van for our 1 bedroom apartment. Also, as soon as he got there he said he already brought a 3^rd guy not part of the initial estimate but told the wife don’t worry the 3^rd guy will make this faster but cost more. She said ok would be great to be moved in 1.5 hours instead of 3, but that was wrong because it still took longer then the 2 – 3 hours that was estimated.
The lead in charge told my wife we had a lot more stuff then a typical 1 bedroom apartment. Well then they should have quoted differently or said something in the very beginning. Rather then do that they waited to say anything until 12:30PM, not very communicative.
I will say the wrapped everything in plastic nicely. The wife said they wrapped every piece of furniture sometimes taking 10 – 20 minutes to wrap something. While moving the and older gentleman sat in the truck taking phone calls for what we assume was other moving appointments, and started folding blankets my son and wife brought down because they had to help move.
I would say unprofessional, hard to communicate with, and can not estimate to save their life. If you still consider going with them hopefully you have only 1 item and if they give an estimate have them come on site before giving you something over the phone as their estimates can’t be trusted.

They told me they would be here between 11 – 12. Finally, at noon I called them. The guy in the office said they’ll be there. Long story short, after two more calls to the office and the same reassurance, I finally get a call from the actual mover at 1:00 saying he’d be another hour before he could get there.
My experience was they were unreliable and not honest. I will look elsewhere for movers.

I’ve moved with Coyle’s movers within the city twice (once from the Richmond to the Marina and then back to the Richmond). They were timely, professional, friendly and they worked fast. I am getting set to move again in a couple of weeks; so, I will give an update after the next move.

If you need a piano moved, go here. They show up on time and true to the quote given over the phone. Most importantly, the piano was unharmed and at no time did I feel worried. What else could you ask for? Oh yeah, they’re cheaper than the other 4 places I called first… so they got that going for them as well.

We’ve used this company twice in the past two years, and each time they’ve exceeded expectations. They also helped friends of ours who raved about them. The guys who work for this company are friendly, courteous, and careful HARD WORKERS.
They didn’t even take any breaks that I noticed. It took two trips to move us into our home, but they still got it all done in about 4 and a half hours.
I’m VERY happy we won’t be moving again any time soon, but I know exactly who we’d call if we had to. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

When I called Coyle’s a man answered the phone with a thick Irish brogue. I explained some details about the move and mentioned that I wasn’t sure if two men would be enough b/​c of the need to move a huge, very heavy king size bed. He said calmly, «they are very strong men».
When the movers arrived they immediately took charge and began efficiently moving box after box into the truck. They worked with such diligence that I truly wondered if they were aware of the hourly billing arrangement. They were also careful to avoid rough handling of anything and there were no scratches or damage to any of my stuff or the apartment.
When it came to the huge bed they brought out these intense looking straps and hoisted it a few inches off the ground, leaned back, and walked it steadily down 6 flights of stairs and then onto the truck. The man with the brogue wasn’t kidding about the strength — it had taken 6 men to bring the bed upstairs in the first place.
Coyle’s provided the best moving service I’ve ever had. I felt like every minute was spent efficiently and productively which made it a great value. The guys worked harder than any other movers I’ve seen and I will call Coyle’s again in a heartbeat next time I decide to try another of SF’s neighborhoods.

I needed a baby grand piano moved from San Francisco to Marin. I called several places and Coyle’s had the best price (half of what one other place estimated and $ 100. less than two others I tried).
Coyle’s always picked up the phone, were able to fit me in the next business day, were flexible when I changed the pick up time, showed up right on time, were cheerful and pleasant, careful with the piano and did the job quickly.
