Optometrist! Woohoo! I’ve been going here for a while now, and the location is pretty convenient. It’s located right on Irving where all these Asian stores are scattered around. It’s like a 2nd Chinatown. They have a good selection of glasses. From plain old prescription glasses to designer brands. The employees here are extremely helpful with everything. Their hours are flexible and can sometimes fit people into time slots that didn’t exist. The receptionists are very nice and polite. As for the actual optometrist, she’s super nice too. I like her, until she puts the gross yellow liquid that dilates your pupil. Haha. I’ll be coming back here for sure. Parking can be hectic at times, but is not impossible.

I’ve been looking around the Sunset district to find an optometrist that offered VSP coverage. I happened to have the afternoon off last Thursday and was doing some grocery shopping on Iriving. I passed by Elaine Yoo’s office and inquired to see if they took VSP. Which they do. What drew me to the office was their extensive selection of frames. Since my husband was with me, we quickly asked to see when their next available appointment was. The receptionist was very helpful and said she could squeeze us in an hour. We were super excited. We came back in an hour with our existing glasses and contacts and had our exams. I had previously been on Kaiser’s optical plan and have been using the same brand of contacts for about 10 years now. The doctor knew right away that at one point I most likely had colored contacts. Since I no longer wear colored lenses, she recommended a more breathable lense by Avaira. I’ve been testing them the past week and am happy I made the change. There is also a rebate going on through 9÷30÷10 if you purchase a years worth of lenses & have your exam there. Parking may be tough in the area at times, but you’ll be in and out in no time, so you should be okay with the hour time length on the parking meters in the are.

Went there in Jan’09 and Dr Elaine Yoo’s problem was that she has no idea what good hygiene means. She gave me a USED contact lense case to store my contacts while taking my eye examine! I didn’t know at the time because I would have ever imagined that someone would do that to their patients. I found out when I went back to her after putting my contacts back on and she asked me for the case back. She told me she reuses them. I told her I threw it away & I asked her if the case I used was a used one and she said yes! Grossed me out. I immediately went to the bathroom and took my contacts out not wanting to risk getting any eye diseases from her other patients. I would never go back to her ever again!
