H&R Block

Worst experience I’ve ever had getting my taxes done, by far. I would not recommend this place.

Don’t go here. Henry Huey is the least helpful CPA in San Francisco. After the first thing I said he told me they don’t guide people through their taxes, then was trying to rush me out the whole time I was there. I did force a few answers out of him, but I was out of there in 6 minutes. Go anywhere but here.
The receptionist earned this place their only star, she was very helpful and sweet. She should be working somewhere better.

I was gonna go there to file my taxes it’s just a block away from the place where I live, but by seeing all these review I better drive somwer else, I don’t want get into any kinda arguments with these morons, if u don’t know what customer service is come into my place I ll train u for free idiots

i swear, i rarely make a bad comment on places BUT.
H&R @ Noriega have some rude mf in there. seriously tho who are you to get irritated with me when im askin for a certain agent? sylvia or sevith who the heck is she to scream at me?
and Henry was making some offensive racial comment that made me very VERY uncomfortable
MY FIRST TIME FILING TAXES and i am a student. i work at customer service so i am more kind to workers of any places because i know how it is like to work in that position. HOWEVER fhey are doing their services wrong. VERY wrong.
they EASILY get frustrated when i just asked TWO questions screaming at me as if i didnt understand them. IF I AM HAVING PROBLEM BECAUSE OF YOUR ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILL IS SO TERRIBLE, YOU GOTTA HELP THE CUSTOMER TO UNDERSTAND YOUR UGLY PRONUNCIATION BTCH
i am literally calling the main h&r block and speak with the gm or whoever i can to make a complaint about those two.
i am so Offended
for the first time in my life, i will waste my time to leave a review on every single pages regarding h&r @ noriega

Sevilla Chong does an excellent job preparing my taxes. I have been seeing her for 15 years and trust her completely. I come from Dublin, CA and will not see anyone else. I have never worried about an audit. Thank you Sevilla, I will use H & R as long as I can. Kathy

If you’re in the Sunset — go to the H&R Block on Taraval instead. That’s where we went last year & that’s where we shoulda gone this year but we got a few blocks lazy.

Nothing fancy here. They roped us in with the «FREE TAX HELP!» coupon slipped under our door, but we paid $ 180 to process our taxes this year.
Mindy/​Millie (?) was the person helping us out & although she was super sweet & helpful two things bothered me:
— she spelled a few things wrong (the docs are in front of you — just copy and paste!)
— we had to correct a few numbers (she even said ‘thankfully you guys can see the screen!’ …insert awkward nervous laughter)
We were out within an hour, & it’s kind of nice having the comfort of H&R’s corporate-​ness keep all my info in one generic database & easy to access when needed, but I will go to Taraval next time.

It has been over half a decade that I’ve been coming to H&R block to have my taxes done. I’m a procrastinator so I usually wait till the wire to make an appointment. This year I’m early, I still have 2 weeks till the deadline. If you have a chance, be sure to ask for Sevilla. Every year without fail she’ll have me in and out within the hour; though I tend to keep piling on the work for her. This year alone I’m filing joint taxes, tacked on a new home purchase and three condominiums. Not to mention my regular W-2’s, independant contractor write-​offs, investments etc. you name it. I’m soo glad I don’t have to do this on my own.

Here is a letter i wrote… don’t ever go to any of these stores, use turbo tax… it REALLY is so easy!
I am writing to inform you of a negative experience I had @ H&R Block (Noriega Office) on April 15, 2008. I called the office at 8am on the morning of April 15 and told the receptionist that I need to leave a tax ID for my accountant, but I did not know her name. My taxes were complete, I just needed to leave a taxpayer ID number to finish the paperwork. Suzanne, the receptionist, asked me many odd questions to try and figure out who helped me, such as if the accountant smiled when she helped me. I answered no to all the bizarre questions. Suzanne replied, «What’s wrong with you, did someone drop something on your head? You don’t know anything!» And continued to berate me for not knowing who my accountant was.
My husband and I promptly went down to the office (8:30am) and were treated with the same disrespect and bizarre behavior that we had witnessed on the phone. She informed us that there was no one there to help us and we should leave and come back later. (Why is there no one to help us on April 15 — the biggest tax day of the year?)
I returned at 11am, hoping there was someone to help me, there wasn’t.Even though the room was full of employees, she rudely informed me that there was no one to help me. I was very confused and distraught that this company had all my personal information but there was no one to help me. Finally a woman helped me figure out who my accountant was and made an appointment for that evening.
Upon returning to H&R Block at 7pm, we were told to wait for our accountant. We apparently had to wait because the staff was having a party in the back room and taking pictures.
We took our tax information and went home and completed Turbo Tax in less than an hour for half the cost and much less hassle.
After many years of doing taxes with H&R, I will recommend to everyone I know that they never use your company again.
