Hayman Brothers

Save yourself the stress and time off work and DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT make the same mistake I did and sign a lease with Hayman Brothers. Jeff and Janis are nonexistent as property managers and will only return an email or voicemail if your situation is dire. I recently had a problem with my gas lines being crossed with another unit, which led to my gas bill to be over $ 240. This problem was a direct result of poor maintenance of the buildings utility lines. After emailing and calling over a dozen times, I finally received a response when I threatened shorting them on the next months rent. After responding, a received attitude on the part of Janis, who didn’t understand it was property managements responsibility to maintain the buildings utilities. After relentless follow up, PG&E shutting off my gas twice due to hazardous conditions, and being without hot water and ability to use my range for a total of 8 days, I finally resolved the issue. If you are considering renting with Hayman Brothers, DO NOT SIGN THE LEASE. You will be regretting it after a couple months.

Hayman Brothers is owned by Jeff Lance. My dealings with him were slightly different as I signed a lease on a commercial space, and not as a renter of residential property. That said, our negotiations went well, and he was open to hearing our lease concerns. We were able to find a middle ground which suited all parties.
I will say it is hard to get a hold of him, though his staff (Janice and Anna) are great.
Probably best to go directly to his office at 1999 Van Ness Avenue, SF to get a hold of him.

DO NOT USE. Our phone calls and messages were not returned after multiple calls. When they were finally answered Jeff Lance was extremely unprofessional and seemed to be intoxicated during the work day. I am only giving a star because it will not let me give zero.

Horrible. Jeff Lance is non-​responsive and ineffectual. He never answers the phone, and never returns voicemails. I’m convinced he actually just runs a taco truck, with property mgmt as a side business. DO NOT USE.

Jeff Lance has helped with our property numerous times. He is personable, and knowledgeable. It is worth waiting for him to return phone calls! Prices are reasonable as well. Jeff Lance and Hayman Bros. truly care about property owners and tenants. We have been very happy with his services.

Jeff Lance and Hayman Brothers are completely non-​responsive in all respects. Jeff Lance does not answer his phone or return phone calls. I have called him 20 times in 3 months and he will not return my call despite acknowledging that he is responsible for performing the requested maintenance. They do not use professionals either. DO NOT TRUST OR USE THEM.

DO NOT USE. They are currently our proper management company and we can not get any responses from our rep. It takes more energy having them «working for us» than if I would manage it myself.
I would of given no stars but the system would not let me go with that option.

We have called our property manager numerous times and all those times we call him for something, he prolly called us back 2 times! He is very unprofessional. What ever happened to internal control?

Little contact but responsive when contacted. Merging with Saxe Real Estate effective Dec 1. They manage all the Fort Mason houses. Not sure I could recommend them as property managers but they’re fine as a tenant.
