We hired Ian and his band for our corporate Mardi Gras masquerade event! They were a major hit. Showed up on time, were very friendly and made the party flow more than I could of imagined.
I would recommend them to anyone throwing a gathering and would hire them again in a heartbeat.

This band is perfection.
I contacted them based on the samples on their website and chose them based on their professionalism. Long story short they were the ideal jazz band for hire:
punctual — arriving 30 minutes prior to set up
flexible — when my dad sprung a tune on them during the party, complete with sheet music, they played it for him and my mom
pleasant and friendly — it was a scorcher on Sunday and they smiled and entertained us throughout the sunny afternoon
And most of all talented — beautiful jazz standards, a great quartet!
Everyone at the party loved the band, especially the guests of honor, which was the whole point.
I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

The I J Smith Jazz Combo played at my wedding reception for ~100 people. They sounded perfect, and we received lots of compliments. Having them instead of a DJ definitely classed up the event, and I’d happily hire them again.

These guys were great. Wonderful to work with. They were perfect for a group from ages 3 to 90. Wonderful sound that was enjoyed by all. This was 90 year old birthday party that every age group loved. They were on time and better than numerous bands that I have hired in the past.

I can’t believe I’m the first person to write a review for I.J. and his band. I hired them for our wedding lunch reception in September and they were awesome. Their musical style was exactly what we were looking for (old school jazz), they dressed sharp, were professional, were the right price, and super easy to communicate with. One of our guests is a professional jazz guitarist and he couldn’t say enough about them. Everyone was very impressed. I highly recommend this band!
