I’m loathe to give poor reviews because I prefer to support small businesses but the caveat is that they have to serve products that are good. I ordered the beef stew bowl and my boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki bowl and were sorely disappointed; the beef stew consisted of white rice with 6 wads of beef fat(no protein to be found) on top and the chicken in the chicken bowl was still pink on the inside. I give 2 stars instead of just 1 because the milk tea was okay but the«stew» gave me a stomach ache so I couldn’t really enjoy it. Sorry Irving Café; either improve the quality of your rice bowl meats or just take them off the menu, because it sounds like people are really into your drinks and snacks.

Don’t be fooled by the name! This is NOT the Irving Café that used to be here. It’s just another Quickly in disguise. 1) I stopped by few days ago to try their bubble tea. It was so sweet, I couldn’t finish half of a glass(and I generally like bubble tea). 2) Dear Quickly, please change your playlist. If you have to play rap/r&b, choose something more quality. There are great artists out there.

Their Boba Milk Tea is undrinkable. Unless all you want is sugar with a side of milk. Then, you may be into it. Maybe.

Just another disgusting Quickly’s that has seemed to fool you all. Not to mention breaking the law!

This is a Quickly’s that tried to sneak around the neighborhood’s formula retail restrictions. The pretended that they were just remodeling an existing restaurant and then opened as a Quickly. This wasn’t an accident, they do this all the time. I’m not opposed to a chain bubble place per se, but I’m not going to patronize a place that blatantly ignores the law.

The neighborhood has been missing a high quality boba tea place. .. and it still is. So far, they are competing on price, not on quality. It’s nice to have a Chinese tea /snacks place in the neighborhood. But this is Quickly quality(even with the espresso machine tea) and doesn’t match the more upscale competitors. So far, I’ve tried a chicken rice bowl, their regular boba tea and a Q-presso tea. The Q-presso tea was the least good(at least to Western tastes … I did not finish it). I’ll try a few more menu items, and update if warranted.

Just a Quickly in disguise. While I’m not a fan of boba tea I’d be a lot more open if this wasn’t a chain in disguise. I miss the real Irving Street Café.

I’m not a fan of bubble tea, but this place is still a nice addition to the neighborhood in my opinion. Yes, it’s a Quickly being run under a different name, but as Quickys go this is one of the better ones. Somewhat confusingly though, they don’t seem to serve everything that’s on their menu(curry fish balls for example), so have some backups in mind when you place your order. My girlfriend is in love with their egg puffs, and for some tasty bar stacks to take to one of the local bars it’s hard to beat their Taiwanese popcorn chicken(don’t forget to add the sriracha).

Irving Café’s menu and eats looks similar to Quickly’s. drinks .49 cents more but no tax charged. milk tea came with«Q-presso» lid. very clean place, only a few seats for seat in. drink: coffee milk tea(2.99, no tax) –coffee flavor unusual, probably leftover coffee –slightly sweet. drips: –appetitzers pics same as quickly’s –Q-presso menu posted. –quick service at noon, no patrons present.

I’m so glad I stopped in here out of curiosity today. I had no idea their menu was THAT extensive. There’s more than enough to choose from, which means even picky eaters like me wanted everything. Since I’m allergic to caffeine(I know, wtf) and wasn’t sure what I could and couldn’t have, the lady at the counter helped me pick a drink. She was very welcoming and patient! We got a Thai Slush, a Taro Slush, fried fish balls, and of course, popcorn chicken. Food was out within 5 – 7 minutes even though there was only one person manning the entire store. I LOVEDIT. Everything was on point and I almost died on the spot because I couldn’t express my happiness enough! Slush = icy, not too sweet, can definitely taste the taro and Thai tea. Fish balls = lightly crisped on the outside. Popcorn chicken = flavorful as expected. Seriously cannot wait to just come here after work every day: D

Even though it’s called Irving Café, it looks and feels like a Quickly. Same menu, same décor. My drink tastes the same too, like it came from a Quickly. Aren’t food establishments suppose to have a bathroom available for customers? There isn’t one here. An extra star only because I sat here(seemingly) forever while waiting for a friend.

This place is really the Quickly chain, in disguise and pulling a fast one to get around SF anti-chain laws. Boycott it for the sake of the neighborhood.

First time here! I’m just so happy Inner Sunset has a boba place now! Got the classic Milk Tea with boba. It’s good! Not too sweet. The tapioca pearls are OK. Came here at 6:30pm, so I don’t know if the pearls I got were getting old from the morning but the centers weren’t hard like old pearls would be but tough. Oh well, not gonna stop me from coming back. I’ll just stick with jelly for awhile. Another side note… the music! It’s R&B/Rap on the TVs. I don’t mind but was thinking about all the little kids that come in. Maybe not a super kid friendly place if the songs are talking about love, sex, drugs, and partying. I’m not complaining about the songs cuz I love ‘em! It was just a thought that came to mind.

Egg puffs is good. But the price of the rice bowl is a little bit higher. We ordered fish rice bowl. Only fish and a little rice without vegetables. Not enough for one people. Maybe the rice bowl can be counted as a dessert as well. That will make sense.

Great quality ingredients make for delicious drinks here. The owner Monica is really nice and cares a lot about making her customers happy. I’ve had the rose milk with boba, the jasmine milk tea with boba, the watermelon slush, and the cantaloupe slush, and they all taste like they are freshly made and without that artificial sugar taste a lot of other boba places have. The egg puffs are DELICIOUS and you get so many. Generally this place is a great deal if you want some good quality food for a good price using great ingredients. The flavor really comes out! They also have free wifi and plenty of power outlets.

The atmosphere of this hybrid of a fast food and«snack to go» type of offering mixed with a «sit down» tapioca little café. Popcorn chicken that is the best. They have soy sauce ground pork over rice(perfect for lunch) and the boba tea is fantastic. The owner is very sweet, friendly and nice. There is free wifi and a lot of outlets people can use, which makes it a great place for students to hang out.

My kids are always on the look out for new boba places to try, especially when it’s so close to where they go for piano lessons. We have been here a few times since it opened and the popcorn chicken along with the curly fries never fail. The boba milk tea is also great with the perfect level of sweetness. The kids love being able to pick out their jelly flavors. I have also tried the teriyaki rice bowls and it’s perfect for a quick meal on the go.

Don’t be fooled by the listing of «Irving Street Café» still on Unilocal: This place has now been transformed by a great new owner. I don’t know much about grass jelly or lychee jelly, but let me tell you the popcorn chicken is to die for! Plus the super munchy satisfaction came from feasting on the curly fries. After filling up on these items, I went back another time to try the teriyaki rice bowl with pork belly… mmmm love those moist little pork bellies… To compliment any meal with boba milk tea is a no-brainer, but this gringo is soon discovering that this unusual bubble tea is a way of life wherever you can get it good, and here at Irving Café, it is spectacular! Cheers to my new, all around favorite spot for this type of experience.
