Jake Stewart – State Farm Insurance Agent

I became a co-​trustee for an estate and had to find an annuity for someone. I did some research online and saw that State Farm has a very good reputation with annuities. Thankfully, I knew Jake Stewart from years ago when we were in a BNI group. Boy, am I lucky.
Jake took this entire process and made it a positive experience. He went out of his way doing research, writing me lengthy emails with great explanations about the options. He was there every step of the way, never pressuring me but always kindly, graciously and actually lovingly help me with this very important decision. I told him I needed to consult with a financial planner to review my options and he offered to meet with her in person. He was away at a work conference yet, when I needed a quick answer, he worked late into the night to give me the answer.
I couldn’t have done this without Jake. His integrity and desire to truly help is palpable and so welcome. I couldn’t have gone through this process so easily without Jake’s help.

I have been a client of Jake’s for several years. Jake is always available to talk to and responds to questions very quickly.
I recently had an accident and made a claim with State Farm. The claim adjusters I spoke with throughout the process were all very nice and helpful. It was a very easy process. I am getting back all the money of the damage and it only took three weeks. It would have taken less time if I had all my paper work.
I have to say it is a pleasure working with Jake and State Farm. I highly recommend if you need insurance you talk to Jake.

Jake is an amazing insurance agent, Diane and Jake both tackled my renters and auto insurance to get my a low quote after paying way to much from another company. There staff is very friendly and I felt assured that I was in good hands. State Farm is a good company, and I have been with them for 15+ years, but Jake Stewart has made the experience excellent.

We came here to get a quote on our car insurance. However the service was terrible!!!

I switched my auto, home (fire, hazard & contents) and umbrella policy over to Jake & Dave Stewart earlier this year. Their rates are competitive & their customer service is top of the line. They have a great team in place (between Sarah, Lou Ann, Jarek, Jake, Dave, etc), so I always feel totally cared for… always by warm, friendly, intelligent people.
I believe there has been a Stewart family agent representing State Farm in San Francisco since the fifties – Jake, his father & his grandfather. So this legacy is now in its third generation, which means stability and dependability for clients like myself. They have been here in San Francisco for a very long time and will be here for many years to come.
Jake took the time to meet with me & my husband to explain & educate us about the types of policies we might consider, so that we could make an informed decision. He also educated us about earthquake insurance for our home (the benefits, advantages & disadvantages) and he taught us the importance of carrying an umbrella policy; which I now realize that EVERYONE should have!
As a Realtor, I send all of my clients to Jake & Dave Stewart – as I know that they will be handled with TLC & that they will provide excellent insurance coverage in a timely manner. They are experienced at working with the mortgage lender to provide correct coverage that will ensure closing escrow on time. And, if it’s a condo purchase, they will review the HOA’s CC&Rs to make sure that the proper insurance is provided so that there are NO GAPS in coverage. should something go wrong.
They also do E&O insurance, life insurance & other sorts of policies.
To say the least, I wholeheartedly appreciate Jake & Dave’s team, work ethic, and competitively-​priced insurance options.

I went in and ended up dealing with Jarek. He’s a really great guy, and is really helpful with everything. He’s very personable, and doesn’t give off the «I need to upsell this customer» attitude. I only refer people to a company/​person if I’ve had a great experience. With that said, I’ve referred a few people to him, and will keep doing so.

I have recently started Unilocaling, but my experience in this office happened in January.
When I walked into the office I was greeted, and asked to sit down by an older lady that was taking a phone call. After about 5 minutes, she told me it would take just another second. I wasn’t in any rush, so I continued to wait. Their facility is really nice and spacious. The older lady continued the phone call, pretty loudly I must say, and it sounded like a billing issue. The wait continued for about 15 more minutes, then a younger guy name Jared walks to the front and asks if he can help me. He offered me a drink, and I gladly took a diet coke. One star for the cool refrigerator they have in a hidden cabinet! Jared told the front desk lady he would help me and she waved us off. As we started talking in his desk, I mentioned I lived in the So MA and I was interested in auto insurance for a vehicle I am leasing and also some property insurance. He started talking about the different options for your policy, back in England, the policies are not as complex. He started saying if my liability limits are 250 thousand, State Farm will cut me a check for 250 thousand to cover the other person. My understanding of liability is that my company will cover the damages I cause up to x amount and I never get to see any of that money. (Through my conversation with a different insurance company, I found out, that is in fact true.) As we continued to talk, he let me know State Farm could only write my auto policy if I had an American driver’s license, which I don’t. I am on my last year of my 5 year visa from the UK and it would be pointless to get one now. At that point, I felt my whole time there was wasted, they made me wait too long, just to tell me they couldn’t offer me any insurance. I said thank you for the diet coke, and left before any more of my time was wasted.
I hesitated to write this review, but after reading the response they gave to the bottom Unilocal-​er on his review, I just had to. Their response to the bottom Unilocal-​er, just sums up their carelessness to customers. I can’t believe they responded and said, it was State Farm’s fault, and didn’t even once mention the lack of attention you gave the client or even apologized for not getting back to him. You mentioned you have a reputation for great customer service but your not living up to it!

I’ve had insurance through Dave Stewart for 6 years and have had excellent service from everyone at the office. Last year I moved all of my banking to State Farm Bank and have had excellent service with that as well.
I have standardized all of my insurance and banking with State Farm Bank and Dave and Jake Stewart and highly recommend them to everyone.

Let me tell you something about Dave and Jake’s office; From minute one, until you leave, they have proven to be the most helpful, respectful and honest agency I’ve experienced.
I came to Dave and Jake’s to open a Life Insurance policy. So I set up and appointment with Jake, expecting to walk-​in, give them my money and walk out.
I was completely wrong! Jake got me some tea, and sat me down and blew my mind: In a very simple, easy to follow meeting, he showed me exactly what Life Insurance was all about. He broke it down so well, that I was able to explain it to a few others at my work when they had questions. No joke.
It didn’t stop there, because every time I am visiting the office, I get the same attitude from each person I’ve worked with. Big shout out to Dave, Jake, Sarah, and Jerek! You guys have really helped me understand all this insurance stuff. I look forward to continuing to work with you.

The wife and I had been talking about buying renter’s insurance for the better part of the past year, but I think we were a little intimidated by what we expected would be a confusing and unpleasant process. How wrong we were! It was totally easy. And we now have renter’s insurance and at a reasonable price.
We were assisted by the agent Marty Brewda, and we couldn’t have asked for more from an insurance agent. He was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and honest. He walked us through the process and answered all of our questions. When he didn’t know the answer he just told us that he didn’t (instead of making up an answer), and he then researched the answer and got back to us promptly. I’d highly recommend asking for Marty if you are looking for an honest and helpful agent that you know you can trust.

Jake Stewart is as good as it gets… he is the best agent out there. He knows the business, he’ll explain it to you concisely and clearly, and – more than anything – he’ll take care of you and get you everything you need. Not to be cliché with his firm’s logo, but he really is a friend next door. You’ll be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t reach out to Jake to talk about your insurance needs. He is the best… Period.

Jake became my State Farm agent after a previous office I’d been with closed. He’s a really great, nice guy, and it feels good to support someone that you can actually put a face to for something as banal as insurance!
His service has also been great — he offered to let us drop the insurance levels on our pickup that we don’t drive but then increase it if we were going to use it for a weekend, and then drop it back down again — saving us good $!

I always assumed big, online companies were the way to go because they offered economies of scale and better rates. Service goes out the window, but you kind of expect that.
So, I had to talk to State Farm because I needed business liability insurance in a hurry. Online isn’t really an option in that case.
Called their office. They answered the phone right away.
I spoke with someone who could help me right away.
I got my approved policy back within a couple of days. It was at the low end of what I had been told to expect to pay.
They also offered me a really low auto insurance rate that is lower than my existing company, Geico. And renters insurance that didn’t charge an arm and a leg.
Then, something else came up & I needed to make a change to my liability policy, and they were incredibly responsive. It was so, so easy dealing with them. I never had to pick up the phone because I had Rebekah’s email the entire time.
People who know me, who have a brain, who know what they’re doing, and do it well! This is so rare these days.
Exceptional service at an exceptional rate. I would recommend them to anyone.
Even without the great rates, I had forgotten how great it is to not have to waste all day sitting on hold for some gum-​smacking 20-​year old in Nebraska.

I value a lot of things in life, and some of them are actually things. I love peace of mind wherever I can get it. Putting both of these together, I realized I needed an umbrella policy for my business, renter’s insurance for my personal belongings and also decided to shop around for a better rate on my auto insurance policy.
I found Robert Fong at State Farm and immediately liked how not pushy, genuine and passionate about his work he is (yes, the man loves insurance and it shows). He was very thorough in explaining to me all the numbers he was crunching to make sure he got me the best coverage possible with the best rate. Once he massaged me a perfectly balanced policy for my needs in the renter’s insurance and umbrella policy, I said «Hey, this guy knows what he is doing and seems pretty straight forward. Why not ask him what he can quote me for a new auto policy?» I did and, low and behold, I now have even better coverage than I was getting from 21^st Century AND I am paying $ 100/​year less than before.
I got my piece of mind satisfied and my things are well protected. I love how whenever I call the office, I always get a real person and feel well taken care of, no matter who picks up. I’d recommend that anyone like myself looking for new insurance or a rate quote for current needs call Robert first!

I used to work for a bank for years so needless to say, I can’t stand banks but when I dealt with State Farm Bank, I was surprised by the thorough explanation, volunteering options that benefit me & the ways they go beyond excellent customer service. I felt like a person to SFB & that the bank had a heart! I never thought I would be so happy with a bank. I rave about SFB & the savings that Maitri has shown me. I’m now planning to move everything over!

Jake has been extrememley helpful and efficient in meeting my current insurance needs (i.e. homeowners, auto and life for both my wife and me). He is very family oriented and takes the time to make sure that I understand all the details of my policies. His staff is great to work with and very responsive to any quirky requests that i may have. I definitely recommend this office.

Leslie Coquilla is the one who helped me set up both of my vehicles and home insurance policy. She is not only professional and helpful, she is pleasant over the phone and patient with answering my ever ending questions.
