JCB Tasting Lounge

I absolutely loved the JCB Tasting Lounge inside the Ritz Carlton. The décor is plush and cozy, the staff are amazing, personable and extremely knowledgeable about wine. The music selection, the wine was wonderful (and I’m noteven a wine drinker). Our group had a lovely time. Truly a hidden gem and fun experience!

This is a hidden gem! Tucked inside the Ritz Carlton and just off the lobby, JCB Tasting Lounge is a small, intimate tasting experience. For those of you unfamiliar with JCB (the proprietar’s name is Jean Charles Boisset), the wines are a collection of Burgundy and California. There are a total of four tasting rooms and lounges around the Bay Area, but this one is definitely the most personal.
We started the tasting with bubbles :) The numbers 21, and 69 to be exact. All of the wines have a number on them and go figure, the 69 was my favorite. It’s a sparkling rosé from burgundy that’s crisp, concise and focused. I would have used other adjectives adhering to the «69» theme, but I thought it best to keep it PG on Unilocal ;)
We also ordered some charcuterie from the hotel restaurant and it was promptly delivered to us inside the lounge. A great selection of meats and cheeses paired nicely with the bottles of bubbles (21,69) that were purchased after the tasting. Yes, we drank A LOT of bubbles that afternoon.
Check this place out, bring a small crew, and have a blast! The staff is legit, and very friendly!

This is one of those hidden gems that make San Francisco what it is. Tucked away inside the Ritz-​Carlton this JCB Tasting Lounge is the first of its kind in the country. I was introduced to it by a friend Beth who opted to host a «thank you» happy hour here. I quickly got to know the head of all things amazing at JCB — a woman by the name of Gina. Between the delicious wines and Gina’s hospitality… I was quickly sold.
The team is knowledge, charming, and very welcoming. The space is small and intimate which kind of forces anyone in the space to mingle with other patrons. It has the feel of an exclusive club without any of the over the top pomp and circumstance. They really understand their flights but aren’t pushy and instead work to figure out you and your tastes and then organize offerings that fit with your taste buds.
I have since hosted a birthday event for a friend as well as attended a few of their special events in the space and each time I fall more and more in love with the JCB experience. It’s great for friends. It’s great for business. It’s great for just about anything as long as you love wine and an experience all in one.

Been a JCB member for years. I love their ridiculously extravagant tasting rooms, super friendly staff, and amazing wines.
Their latest lounge inside the Ritz Carlton in SF keeps me happy during the weekends when Napa or Sonoma is just a bit too far to drive to (thank goodness for Über/​Lyft!).
Appointments are highly recommended but not necessary. They specialize in bubblies, Chardonnays/​white burgundy, pinot noir/​burgundy, Cabernet sauvignon/​Bordeaux, and rose.
