Went here with my coworkers during a Mental Health Day. Love to support the kids. It’s awesome how our servers have only started 2 weeks ago and they already had great potential! Salad with fresh baby veggies were fresh and yummy. I got the hoisin burger, tasty! It came with fried yams. Passionfruit sorbet… yummmm. A little too sweet but yum. Big portions I tried my coworkers pasta, homemade and yumm. They do have limited amount of each dish like a lot of people ordered their steak and by the time it was our turn to order, they were already out. Their menu changes every week I think. I wanna come back soon!

This is my number one spot for a wonderful, fantastic fine dining culinary experience. The advanced culinary students for all over the USA work very hard to provide excellent service. The food is amazing. And is is an excellent deal.

These guys are working hard at perfecting the art of hotel food. I think it’s inexpensive which makes it worthy of 4 stars. But honestly the food was meh. The pasta was overcooked and so was the rice. The chicken was ok but the highlight of the meal was when they brought around dessert and said this is cake but in reality it was breakfast Danishes covered in chocolate. Do they think they are fooling me by calling it cake?

A group of 14 enjoyed lunch on Treasure Island at the Job Corps Fine Dining Restaurant. We were the first«customers» of the season for a new training class, so the servers were a little hesitant, but earnest and accommodating. The three course menu is a huge bargain at $ 13(please add a generous tip!). It features a choice of a lovely salad or tasty garnished soup, a choice among four main dishes, including a veggie choice, and dessert. Coffee, tea, iced tea is included also. The food quality is excellent — everything was tasty, freshly made, and nicely garnished. It is equivalent to a good restaurant in quality, flavor and appearance. The Fine Dining Restaurant is a little hard to find in Building 368, but well worth trip to Treasure Island. By eating there, you contribute to the on-the-job training of deserving young people. An added bonus: the City and Bay views from Treasure Island are spectacular!

The Job Corps Fine Dining Restaurant offers three-course gourmet meals prepared and served by the Advanced Culinary Academy trainees for the low price of $ 13, with each weekly menu featuring a different cuisine. Today a small group of us ventured out to Treasure Island to dine on Alsacian tarts, Basque style pepper salad, buffalo stew, chicken al Matone, open ravioli primavera and Almond Japonaise. The tarts were incredibly huge(could have been its own entrée) and quite tasty. Not exactly beautiful, but a noble attempt. The pepper salad was served with croutons topped with olive tapenade and goat cheese. The trio of peppers had a nice basil vinaigrette that helped lighten up the croutons(which were mediocre). I didn’t taste the bison, but I hear that it «wasn’t gamey at all» and tastes«just like regular beef». It look dark and rich like a traditional beef stew, and it was served with frybread wedges. The frybread was described as being«yummy … like doughnuts». I don’t like doughnuts, so that was not really a selling point for me. The chicken half was grilled under a brick and served with a fruit– and pepper– studded couscous and morney sauce. Not at all bad. Moist inside and well-flavored skin … which I peeled off … it was a dish I could have eaten more of had I not overindulged in the ginormous tart. The smoked salmon on hand-made fettucini with lemoned alfredo sauce was a big hit with one person from the group who was leaving for Hawaii. He loved it so much that he wanted to pack the leftovers for consumption on his flight to the islands. The almond Japonais is nothing to write home about, so i won’t go into any details. Three courses, coffee, soda, water, fresh-baked bread and earnest service for only $ 13. What a bargain! That and the fact that it’s a Job Corp program I can stand behind make this place a «gotta-try-once»(or more) venture. For more information about this program, read here:
