Originally from Southern California, Dr. Chou graduated from UC Berkeley, and attended Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. She completed three years of rigorous surgical training at Kaiser Permanente in the North Bay and graduated as Chief Resident. Dr. Chou’s swimming and waterpolo background led her to start doing triathlons, running and cycling. She started her own practice in 2012 and her professional interests include sports medicine, biomechanics, surgery and geriatric care.

i saw Dr. Chou last june for the first time and could not have been more pleased. she clearly explained what my problem was and what my options are. i saw her right before leaving on my first vacation in 10 years and was concerned that my toe would hamper my ability to walk enough to enjoy my trip as it did here at home. Dr. Chou treated me with a cortisone treatment and it worked like a miracle. i was pain free the entire trip and for much longer than that. i am going to continue to see Dr. Chou and can honestly recommend her not only for her qualifications but also for her good natured personality.

Before too much time goes by, I would like to say that I received excellent and immediate care from Dr. Chou. I had a strange «thing» on the bottom of my toe. I thought maybe something I picked up at the gym. Dr. Chou was so concerned that she ordered a biopsy just to be sure. All was well. I decided to remove the offending growth that was hurting me. In-​office surgery. Quick and relatively painless. She refused to remove the stitches too early when I had a business trip. But that was a good decision. Now that all is well, stitches out and a few months later… problem solved. Thank you, Dr. Chou. You are very careful and caring at the same time. Great combination. Big important part of seeing a doctor about anything is FEELING cared for.

Dr. Chou’s attention to detail is unsurpassed. She was thorough in diagnosing my fractured ankle, and provided terrific follow-​up documentation and reference material for treatment.
Her office is a professional, friendly environment. Booking an appointment is a breeze. Dr. Chou is dependable.

First of all it was very easy to make an appointment with Dr. Chou. You just book it on line and they email you all the forms so you can fill them out before the appointment. I found Dr. Chou to be extremely on top of her game, very friendly and professional. She asked all the right questions and offered immediate solutions for my foot problems. I’ve been to a lot of podiatrists before and I’m happy to report that I’ve found one that I trust and will stick with. Finally she uses a great online platform called Patient Fusion with which you can access all your records and summaries of your visits with the doctor. I was very impressed with how thorough Dr. Chou was with her notes regarding my first visit. She’s a great doctor and I highly recommend her.

Hello I would like to let you know how great my foot doctor is: Dr. Katherine Chou. She was very patient with me as I had a lot of questions and explained everything very professionally and at the end of the session writes a report and emails you the notes of your session. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent foot doctor. Also it is very easy to get appointments with her and sometimes same day are available which is unheard of in some medical establishments unless it is an emergency of course.

This was my first experience with Dr. Chou and it was excellent. I came in with a very sore toe. She did a thorough and careful exam of my feet, and explained her diagnosis. She was very professional, pleasant to deal with and her treatment was painless and successful. I could not have asked for a better experience.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Chou. My podiatrist was out on maternity leave and Dr. Chou was lending a helping hand.
During the visit, Dr. Chou made me feel welcome and assured. I felt she treated me with the superior skill I have come to expect by my regular doctor. I suppose the choice of Dr. Chou to help at this time was driven by my doctor’s knowledge of her skills. Her examination was I felt thorough. She also pointed out some behaviors that should benefit me in going forward.
At the end of the session, Dr. Chou quizzed me about her instructions. I passed the test and immediately committed to her recommendations.
I have an excellent podiatrist, and if did not have her already Dr. Chou would be my choice. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Chou is the best doctor I have ever had.
From the moment I stepped into her office, I trusted her. She knows her stuff and has a considerate touch. She gave me a number of surgical and non-​surgical options when it came to the legion in my ankle. The surgery (arthroscopy and micro fracture) went well, and Dr. Chou was there to hold my hand before and after. She has always been attentive and professional.
Really, she’s the most thorough and caring doctor I’ve ever been to. She went above and beyond checking up on me and answering my questions in her free time.
My recovery has been great and a little over two months after surgery I am in less pain than I’ve been in over a year. Thanks, Dr. Chou!

I have had problems with one of my ankles for the last 10 years. I wanted to start running and decided to go see someone about it. Dr. Chou was able to quickly look at my feet to diagnose what was going on. With some changes to my shoes and some strengthening exercises for my my ankle, almost all of my problems have gone away. I am very glad I went to see her and finally got my issues sorted out after all these years!

Dr. Chou was excellent — she carefully analyzed the foot injury I had and made sure it was diagnosed it correctly. Turns out it was an unusual fracture. I could tell immediately that she had deep and practical knowledge about foot and ankle injuries.
Since she has been an athlete herself, it’s great to know that she understands the rigors of training. I originally found out about her through the Golden Gate Runner’s Club.
Finally, her staff was also friendly and she provided good follow-​up. Thanks again Dr. Chou.
