I would think twice about hiring Seth. He Talks big and charges a lot more than other lawyers. But that’s all it is is talk. Who wants a lawyer that’s thinks he is too good to work hard. If I’m paying top dollar I expect him to work hard. I could go on and on about all the things Seth did to me and the things he didnt do for me. I’ll just cover one. The preliminary hearing. I hired Seth because he says he is an aggressive defence lawyer. Well at my preliminary the most important day of my life. Where he has the opportunity to dispute all the charges against me he didn’t dispute any of the charges. The questions he did ask were pointless and a waste of time. He also was totaly unprepared, obviously he didn’t spend anytime rehearsing because between most questions he had a minimum of 30 seconds of dead silence as he looked through his notes to ask another pointless question. On some of the pointless questions he did ask, the witness made him look like a fool. Here I was going to my preliminary that morning thinking that I hired this really expensive hard hitting lawyer who is going to make the witness look like a total fool but alas it was the other way around and I was in total shock. I couldn’t believe it. Like I said I could go on and on but I don’t want to write a book here. So feel free to contact me if you want before you hire this guy. But my word of advice will be don’t hire him.

I was arrested and charged with a few felony charges resulting from me being pulled over in Alameda with a bit more marijuana than is legally allowed by medical code here in California. They had clear-​cut evidence of my intent for sale, as well as a valid basis for tacking on a transportation charge with intent for sale. After discussing the case with Mr. Chazin, he very bluntly informed me that the case would in fact be an uphill battle, and there was no guarantee of success with the evidence that existed. Having heard excellent things about his services from a family friend, I decided to go ahead and retain his services. He was very clear about exactly what I could do to mitigate the circumstances, and laid out a solid plan for getting my charges reduced to misdemeanors or dismissed including outpatient rehab that I needed anyways, gathering character reference letters from various people in my life, getting my college transcript, and getting evidence of my employment. He instructed me in the proper manner in which to do these things for maximum efficacy, and in the end his intimate knowledge of the law and the local legal landscape as well as his techniques for mitigation proved incredibly fruitful!
I ended up not having my charges reduced to misdemeanors, but eliminated altogether pending one year of no police interaction. This is absolutely a best-​case scenario, and in fact has put me on the correct path in life and shown me that hard work pays off. I was more than happy to pay the rates that Mr. Chazin asked, and it ended up being more than worth it. I would recommend Seth’s services to anyone facing serious criminal charges. He is a true, real-​life example of getting what you pay for.
Also, I’d like to address the negative review of Mr. Chazin below. This woman has no basis for either a good or bad review, as she never employed his services. She obviously has little or no idea about the true costs of proper litigation, or the pricing associated with these services. After doing extensive research into other lawyers that are as qualified and have handled as many high-​profile cases as Seth, I found his rates to be quite reasonable, as well as applicable to the result (as explained above.) In response to how Mr. Chazin came up with the rate for the angry young lady above, I was told the exact same thing. It’s called a flat rate, in case you’ve never heard of it. For the amount of work that Seth puts into your case, it’s far cheaper to pay this flat rate than charge by the hour. And by the way, on my second case that I picked up, he agreed to provide me services that were totally pro bono. To address the last part of this woman’s complaint, Seth DOES in fact care what you’re going through. I actually found him giving me extremely valid personal advice on the side as well as excellent legal advice as how to deal with specific procedures.

I cannot recommend Mr. Chazin highly enough. If, God forbid, one of my children needed a criminal attorney I would have no hesitation in sending them to him. His rates are very competitive, I didn’t find any competent attorney charging less than him.
He knows the criminal law inside and out and has been practicing for 25 years, so he is familiar with all of the courts and the DA’s. He fights extremely hard for your case and never quits until he gets the best result possible. He takes the time to explain each step of your case and lets you know ahead of time what to expect. He always responds to all of my emails and texts right away even at night or on the weekends. Best of all you deal directly with Mr. Chazin never a paralegal.
I honestly feel that if you are in need of a criminal attorney you cannot do any better than Mr. Chazin.

I recently received a what seems to be a heartfelt message from this attorney and I am editing my review solely based on that message alone. Since I’ve only dealt with him in two separate incidents: first phone call for advise and the message I recently received. I cannot determine how he is as an attorney.
I do believe in second chances though and I think it took a lot for him to write to me. I never wanted to take business away from this gentlemen. I hope that anyone in search of a lawyer in the future, would make that decision only after speaking to him directly and not by just reading the Unilocal comments.
