Teaching– we teach people how to be embodied in the workplace through «Working Movements,» a one hour wellness workshop for companies and individuals.

Choreography– we create memorable dance performances for corporate events and promotions with employees or professional dancers. We choreograph for theatre, film, commercials and wedding dances.

History

Established in 2012.

Dance and a Half’s mission is to inspire people to connect to their bodies and hearts. The company creates and produces live performances, events and educational workshops that promote the intersection of dance and wellness. Dance and a Half works collaboratively with clients to deliver a customized dance or workshop that responds to each clients specific needs and interests.

Business Owner

Dance and a Half was founded by choreographer and director Liz Tenuto, whose distinctive work blends the formalities of her background in classical ballet and contemporary dance with humor, boldness and generosity. Liz is the first recipient of FACT/SF’s JUMP Commission and is currently Artist In Residence at CounterPulse. Liz has performed with San Francisco based choreographers Laura Arrington, Pearl Marill/​Modern On Command, Tino Sehgal (Berlin), AvyK Productions, Anne Bluethenthal, Sara DuJour, among many others and has also worked in music videos and commercials.

Liz currently choreographs for theatre and private + corporate events. She teaches contemporary dance at ODC in San Francisco and ballet at The African American Cultural Center.
