I haven’t had a massage in a long time, and then decided to treat myself to a massage and it was great, Jordan was really great, perfect amount of pressure and was really able to make me relax. Definitely going again. Also Daniel was really helpful!

(4.5) I have been a customer of Massage Envy since December 2014. Your experience at this franchise is all about finding the right therapist for you. Their rates have increased in recent years and be aware that the SF Metreon location has an additional 10% «market adjustment» fee.
Massage envy locations are uniform across cities featuring: A lobby to check in and peruse the skin products they have a partnership to see (mostly Murad), a waiting/​relaxation room, and a corridor leading to the massage rooms. The relaxation room has free tea (yay). Other locations give you a warm, scented neck pillow as you wait. This one does not.
They do have a variety of therapists with different specialties, so be sure to communicate with the staff so they can help you select a therapist. If you have a session where you feel a therapist could have done better, be sure to switch and give feedback to the staff!
Also there’s some funny business going on with their confirmation emails (they say I’m signed up to get them, but I never do). Despite this they are very good about calling a day ahead of your appointment to remind you that it’s coming up.
I see Shane regularly at the SF location. He gets five stars for technique and being good company during my sessions. Jose and Jason are also excellent therapists.

I have got to say I had probably the most horrible experience with this massage envy that I’ve had in my 15 years of getting massages. It started with the horrid location, don’t even attempt to drive there because it’s physically impossible. Myself and my girlfriend each booked a massage there for my 30^th birthday. After driving to the general vicinity of the location 20 minutes prior to our appointment time I ended up having to drop her off as we could not find any place to park and our appointment was approaching. She filled out her form as well as mine and started her massage. I spent the next 25 minutes in standstill traffic trying to find a parking place that I would not be towed from. The entire time trying to call them to get a suggestion on parking availability in the area and receiving no response. As well as futilely attempting to use a GPS to locate parking on all three of our phones and the even the rental cars to locate a parking garage due to the fact that it does not work because of the buildings downtown according to the envy employees. When I finally arrived, 25 minutes before my appointment, which I know is not cool, I explained my situation and was met with little sympathy. Correction zero sympathy. They told me I could still get the massage but it would only be 15 minutes which I thought was kind of strange being that it was a one hour massage that we had booked and there was still 35 minutes left in the hour. Obviously I declined and waited patiently for my girlfriend to be completed. When it was arriving time for her to be coming out I went to the counter to pay for her massage only to find out that I would be also paying for my massage, something I know is a practice that’s not entirely uncommon but probably would have taken up that last 15 minutes which really should’ve been more like a half hour massage had I known. As for my girlfriends massage which she at the time and thought she liked and tip generously on, she was physically ill for two days after due to the pressure level. Something that should’ve been discussed in more depth considering she is not as familiar with getting work done on her body as A massage a regular maybe. The only kind thing I can say about this place is the only young male employee in there did offer me a glass of water upon my entrance. I don’t know if that’s just protocol or if it was because I was gasping for air after running five blocks from my parking spot. I could sense that at least he felt some least bit of compassion for my situation especially it being a birthday event but was in no place to make any adjustments being that it is corporate America and he was over shadowed by three seemingly grumpy women in their mid-​30s who I was lucky enough to listen to gossip and then discuss where they would go in the mall for their dinner they were about to take for my half an hour wait time which almost made me sick. Now I get that this company offers a somewhat decent massage at a somewhat reasonable price and a lot of people think the only other option is a upscale salon where are you paid double or triple but that’s not the case. Just the next day I had an excellent massage right in fisherman’s wharf for the exact same price. They even spent an extra 15 minutes on me for no other reason then they wanted to because I was really tight in my shoulders. Probably from all the BS I went through the day before with massage envy in San Francisco on mission.

My husbands birthday treat was a no go thanks to this location. I scheduled an after work couples massage to kick off my husband’s birthday weekend. Two weeks in advance, I called Massage Envy first before making the rest of our evenings plans. 5 days prior to our appointment I received a call stating that a therapist we were scheduled with was no longer working there and that they could not accommodate our appointment. I rescheduled other plans in hopes that an earlier appointment could work — we were rescheduled and I assumed all was good. The day of we arrived 15 minutes early only to be greeted with «we’ve been trying to call you…». With no missed calls on my phone or voicemails left, I was told our therapist had called off and they could not accommodate us. Shouldn’t an establishment that frequently receives clients for special events like this have an on call or accommodate us in another way? I was greatly disappointed — not a great way to kick off a birthday surprise. Not recommended if you like reliable scheduling.

Not super impressed with this location. I showed up at 230 pm today, only to be told my appointment wasn’t in the system. Apparently, the person who was supposed to enter my appointment forgot to click «save», and my time was taken by someone else the next day. I should have asked for a confirmation email, but my experience with the locations in Dallas, Santa Monica, and Beverly Hills had been so flawless that it seemed unnecessary to do so.
Oh, and this is the only location that has charged me an extra $ 10 for each session. Even the location in Beverly Hills didn’t up-​charge. After using my prepaid sessions, I may have to look into cancelling my membership after 6 years.

This place is great, I go every couple of weeks as I suffer from injuries requiring continuous care. After a couple of years of my favorite therapists leaving (this apparently happens often in massage world) I’ve settled on the best, I hate to even say her name here because she books up so far in advance, but Kim is amazing. Dexter and Michael, the owners are very sweet and accommodating. I suffer from allergies of items that are often in most lotions, but they’ve got me covered. The front desk staff is always friendly and funny. This is one of my happy places.

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The therapists range from decent to very good so before booking, I’d recommend asking questions to get the best person for you (e.g. How long have they worked there? Which masseuse is most popular? Who specializes in Sports massage? etc.). For deep tissue — Kim is AMAZING! With a price of $ 49 per 50 minute massage (for members), it’s the best deal in SF (outside of Chinatown) and hard to walk away unhappy.

Very good! I been coming here for my prenatal massages and it has been absolutely great. ROSE is very professional and atentintive she nows what she doing and I love it as being pregnant is not easy. The front desk are real friendly thanks guys. Expected for my last visit instead of leaving relaxed i ended leaving with more pain in my back not great good regret not booking my appointment with rose.

Go see Joshua! He’s booked as my Saturday night date, but definitely give him a chance. Great masseuse!

Ive always wanted to try these and finally got around to it. Got a healthy skin facial and while it was nice, it was very short. For someone who gets facials monthly (with shoulder and hand/​arm massages during), this one at Massage Envy fell short of my expectations. They didn’t use a steamer either which isn’t good when you’re extracting because your pores aren’t as open.
Came with a friend who got a massage and she loved it. I’ll have to return to try this myself but will continue to get my facial services elsewhere.

This location is literally steps away from my work! Holly gave me a 1 hour relaxation massage and focused on my neck and shoulders. It was great, she made me feel very comfortable & didn’t talk! (I hate to talk during a massage) Good vibes in there… Super clean, attentive staff, heated tables, dim lighting and meditation music. Not sure why they don’t have more positive reviews because I saw a ton of ‘regulars’ in there that evening?!

Coming from a massage frequent flyer, I had one of the best at this location. Rose was professional, attentive, intuitive and thorough. Great mixture of pressure, technique, heat, towels, oil and lotion to achieve a deep but comfortable massage. She also gave me some great tips about how to stretch. It really doesn’t get any better.

I took my sister to this location while visiting San Francisco. It was hard to get an appointment. The location and rooms are very small compared to other locations in Southern California. Parking was also hard to find in the area so I would recommend you come early.
My facial went well but pretty average. My sister had a good massage with Josh. Only thing to mention is that they charge an extra $ 10 «market adjustment» on each services. So even though I was a member with credits (at a different location) I still had to pay an extra $ 10 for my massage.

I am member of Massage Envy in general. I came to this location as I just moved to the area. I called to make a massage and facial appointment.
When I got there, they didn’t greet me right away, When they did, they tried to make me do some paperwork, which took more of my time, I had to tell them that I was already behind on my appointment. They didn’t seem to keep track of time or anything, which blew me away!
Both the massage and facial were fine. They use a steamer during the facial at these locations, and tell you prior what facial you are going to need, and then walk you through the steps. Well, that steamer and the advisory/​step discussion wasn’t had here. Which was odd and disappointing.
After the massage and facial, I went to the front desk to check out. They proceed to tell me that I have to pay a few in addition to the facial and massage, because of the location… WHATT??? If they had told me that on the phone, I would have gone to the Daly City location or something.
If you are a member or have been meaning to try one of these Massage Envy locations, go somewhere else where you can get better service and not pay for being in SF!

This was the worst customer service I’ve EVER received as a paying ‘member’ — not because of the actual massage, no, but because of the way this business is run and the way they treat their customers.
This place should have 0 stars because one of the owners is consistently, incredibly rude and made me feel very uncomfortable. = not a relaxing experience whatsoever.
This is a warning to all you Unilocalers not get involved with this place. They will rip you off, bill you for services you couldn’t receive because you’re stuck in some of the worst traffic /​storm the bay has ever seen, and have a missuse put a bottle of faintly-​scented lotion up to your nose once before your massage begins and call it ‘aroma therapy’. They don’t even rub you for a full 50 mins. This is the biggest waste of $. Don’t go here.

I’m bumping this review by a star. I may have been a bit harsh, initially. It is a business, after all.
I still think the whole thing isn’t worth it, but after begrudgingly using my subscription for a year, my experience was not profoundly negative.
Service on the phone and the front desk is always pleasant. Therapists are always nice and do decent work.

Big fan of this location mainly because of KYMN TAYLOR. This is hands down the BEST massage therapist in the north west. I visit a lot of Massage Envys when I travel and this location is also convenient.
Owners DEXTER & MICHAEL are super nice too!
Be aware that Kymn is highly requested so you might have to get on her wait list. If they can get her to train/​hire the rest of the staff, this would be the best location in all of SF!

I came for a introductory massage which was $ 60 for one hour. I had a «personalized» meeting with someone from the front desk to see what I wanted to have concentrated on. The girl recommended increasing the time to 90 mins so the masseuse could hit the places I wanted him to concentrate on. I’ve been getting one hour massages for two years and all masseuses can hit the spots that I’ve requested within that time frame.
My masseuse came in to take me to the room (which was bleh) to get settled in. He left me to change my clothes and get onto the table, he said he’d be back in 3 mins, ended up being 10. So 10 mins into my 60 min massage and I haven’t been touched yet. They had a clock in the room which probably made things worse because I was looking at the clock to see how much time I had left instead of relaxing. He ended about 5 minutes early and gave me wet towels to take the lotion/​oil off? It wasn’t even warm.
My massage ended up being around 45 minutes and I really didn’t want to tip the guy but I did it anyway. They try to rope you in with the membership, but as someone will notice with the reviews here, they clearly have issues.
