Goals can include helping you: Find personal freedom, hope, and self-compassion that are the calling beneath fear/anxiety; Become happier and stronger as you navigate through loss and change related to career, relationships, aging, etc; Find balance in your life and what really brings you passion and joy; Relinquish problematic behaviors and beliefs and find a more workable and heartfelt connection to yourself and others.
Because both scientific research and my own experience demonstrate that the most important aspects of successful therapy is forming a safe, helpful, and trusting therapeutic relationship, I will pay particular attention to creating such an open partnership with you, with the understanding that we check in regularly about progress and usefulness of our work.
My expertise includes effective management of anxiety, stress, loss, trauma, and substance use as well as improving relationships and work-life balance, and coping with Startup environments. I incorporate aspects of positive psychology and emerging neuroscience, and utilize practices and skills including Cognitive-Behavioral techniques and desensitization, EMDR, mindfulness, harm reduction and mind-body techniques.
