Description

Specialties

The primary focus of my work is to facilitate individuals connecting and living from their Authentic Self — the part of ourselves that is at our core and is our deepest truth.

When we are connected with our Authentic Self there is a profound sense of well-being, and we can experience that place within ourselves’ that is peaceful and calm. The story of how life «should or shouldn’t be,» drops away and there is a discovery of a curiosity and playfulness toward life, and an inherent freedom to follow one’s highest aspirations.

People often begin this journey who find themselves wanting something different, be it feeling more confident, decrease in anxiety, a life with greater meaning, having a healthier lifestyle, reconnecting with lost parts of themselves, or pursuing life dreams.

My style is warm, compassionate, and interactive and I use a lot of humor. I hold a holistic view; integrating mind, body and spirit to help clients re-experience confidence, understanding, peace and resolution.

History

Established in 2009.

Working with people to change their lives and increase their sense of well-being has been a life long passion for over 20 years.

I began as a therapist in the military, working at a residential treatment center for drug and alcohol. Since then, I worked in other residential and outpatiant setting with individuals in both short and long term care. More recently, I worked at Stanford Childrens’ hospital with adolescents and children with eating disorder.

Additionally, I worked as a Clinical Supervisor training new therapists at an outpatient drug treatment center, and taught classes on stress reduction, overcoming anxiety at Kaiser Hospital. I also volunteered at Zen Hospice.

Currently, I work as a psychotherapist, spiritual director and researcher.

I earned a Ph.D. from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology.

I am certified in EMDR, and completed training in Hakomi, a mindfulness based body-oriented therapy.

Business Owner

I have a long time interest in how psychology and spirituality intersect. In addition to my studies in psychology I have practiced various forms of meditation for over 30 years. My current area of research is exploring the ways people allow and push away the connection with one’s true self.
