Rescino Performance

Like so many other places like this, these guys are crooks. i suppose i should blame myself for not doing my research first. Now i know why they refused to give me an invoice or a receipt and refused to give me my old part that they supposedly «replaced.» Whats worse, the problem came right back and when i brought it to their attention they pretended like they didnt know what i was talking about kinda chuckling to one another. I asked to speak to the guy in charge so they bring over this burned out hippy looking jackass [Mike perhaps?] who asks me for my invoice kinda smiling at me at the same time. At that point I had to leave before i lost my temper because they didnt give me any freaking paperwork-​just a shitty business card. Its a shady shop in a really shady part of town with shady characters stopping by constantly. Both times i was there there were homeless people stopping by all cracked out talking so fast I couldnt understand them, big dangerous looking bikers on harleys pulling up, shutting the doors in the middle of the day, it doesnt take a genius to figure out that this place has gotta be a front for god knows what. They certainly got my naïve ass for $ 1600. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. All the positive reciews look like they were written by friends or family members of the employees. Like theyve got a nice little «clique» going. I cant stand dishonest buisinesses.

If you want the best, go to rescino performance hands down. I am very new to «machine shops» so the guys there were more then happy to show me around and show me exactly what they were going to be doing with my 350. At the moment of being there, i believe there was a couple motors from other shops (or people) that were not put together properly was brought in to be corrected by Nick as well. Glad I came to the right place the first time. Everything was done at a very reasonable price. From the moment i walked in and got greeted by the two young gentlemen working in the front, to the moment i got my engine build sheet and left the shop I had a feeling i was in good hands and I sure was. Also, not knowing this before going in, they come from a line of race gods. High performance or basic rebuid, they are the right guys for the job.

I brought my car here for a dyno tune. I made an appointment for 1:00pm. I had to drop my car off by tow truck 10:30am as they agreed. I walked in the front door and wasn’t acknowledged till I said something to the few guy standing around talking, including Mike. James helped me and we parked the car. James said Mike has one car he is starting before mine. He said to come back at 1:00pm for the dyno tune. It went down from there.
I arrived 15 minutes early. Nobody acknowledged me again. I waited in the entry till 1:30. Mike the guy who does the tune came over and said its time. He acted like he couldn’t be bothered. No discussion about engine or modifications, nothing about the process, nothing about what to expect. I had to stop him and tell him what has been happening with the engine.
When we went around to the service entrance he had a shop person load my car on the dyno machine. Mike disappeared. He went somewhere else. 20 minutes later he took off in his car. He returned at 2:00pm and told the guy who loaded my car «it’s in the office». So now I’ve been standing around this shop for an hour an 15 minutes, no conversations, no offer to wait in the office, nothing. They make you feel like they’re going out of their way and doing you a favor.
With the garage being empty for 15 more minutes, they know I’m waiting and standing around, I walked back to the business office. I asked Mike about my 1:00 appointment. He said the last car took longer and he is at lunch at will get to when he is done. This guy was so rude I almost fell over. I said it would be nice if he let me know what was going on or offered me a place to sit and wait. He said I can sit in the entry area. There are no seats in the entry or area shop area! Then he told me it was my fault for bringing my car there at 10:00am. By this time I knew it was over. He said I could take the car if I didn’t like it.
This guy is the shop manager. Unfortunately the owner was on vacation so there was nobody to go up to. Needless to say, I took the car. I had to call a tow truck and have my car towed home.
I think I made the right decision. They had just taken a car off the dyno machine before loading my car. I watched them do a few runs with it. Then when they parked it, they could not turn the car off because the timing was set wrong. Never take your business here.

I work for a shop in the city and had to find a new place to have cylinder heads machined. Found Rescino and would never change again. Fast and very efficient, prices are competitive, always done on time.

Just got my 72 Monte Carlo 383 sbc Dyno tuned here a few days ago. Nick Rescino and all the dudes in there are really honest people and respectable. Steve the guy that does the Dyno tuning really knows his stuff and got the car running like a beast. When I came in a had a lot of bog in the secondaries of my Holley 750 vacuum sec. He played around with the timing and carb, got rid of the bog and got me another 20 rwhp out of it. Nick told me on the phone that the only bog i would have when they were done, was the tires roasting to the asphalt. He was right. Right on brothers.

i thank you nick for your honesty and integrity your father taught you well we had my sons car worked on at rescino performance and we are very pleased with the work we had exhaust from headers back to borla exhaust they put electric cut outs on too they put a motorsport cam and a king cobra clutch there choices on parts are the only choice
if you want your car to run and i mean run right this is the place for you

i walked into the shop knowing what i wanted, a motor that push 500 to the wheel at least. in other word i wanted a beast!!! after talking to nick jr. the guy seem more excited then i was. i told them i wanted the engine in my 69 mustang, and i wanted it ready by my birthday. a month went by and nick jr. gave birth to a block i came to call the beast. a 472 small block with 850 dp carb. that gave my over 500 hp. to the wheel. more than i asked for and it runs on pump gas. best bday gift ever… thanks nick i still cant stop laughing whenever i drive the beast, tired of smiling for the fans but luving it. car can be seen on youtube under «screaming fat whore»

Nick has been building kick ass engines for 30 something years. The amount of knowledge in that place is insane. Recently his son, Nick, has taken over and he is great as well. I had a 455 rebuilt there. They told me exactly what to get for my street type combo. The motor is insane. I can’t wait to dyno it!
