Chris and his team did wonders with our backyard! He took dirt, gravel, and weeds and turned it into a beautiful stone patio accompanied by grass, new plants, and mulch. They handled everything with care and gave some good advice along the way. Our job wasn’t very straightforward as we needed steps created, a special planter box, and needed a lot of slope grading done.
We were very impressed with the way everything turned out. The backyard looks beautiful. We would most certainly use Chris and his team again.

Christopher and his dedicated crew are unlike any other contractors we’ve worked with. For our terraced backyard renovation, they were professional from start to finish, provided guidance within the creative theme, were cognizant of our budget for any suggested improvements or changes, and worked within quoted time and stayed on budget.
I had a general idea of what I wanted, but Christopher brought it to life by working with me to provide suggestions on design, materials, phasing, and was flexible with including ideas that I loved and not including those I didn’t. Other design build firms could only see the yard one way, but Christopher has the creative vision to see multiple options.

Reynolds-​Sebastiani is an amazing design firm to work with, I live in a TIC/​Coop style building where we have six apartment that share a common backyard and we have used Alysia and her crew for the past five years.
Our garden is lush and healthy. Alysia adds new touches every year so our backyard is evolving and is beautiful all year round. We now have a beautiful mix of mature greenery made up of shrubs, flowers, herb gardens, olive and lemon trees, and a lovely calming, zen design.
Alysia also executed a beautification project on our block. We really wanted trees in from of our building but there wasn’t enough space. So their team designed a small planter garden for our building and our neighbouring building to bring some green to our Mission hood.

Chris and his crew completed our landscape with the utmost care, precision, and professionalism that we could have envisioned. Our landscape prior to his work was a barren wasteland full of weeds, dead and unwanted plants, and dry soil. We were able to show him a design that we wanted and he transformed our garden into a usable, modern masterpiece. The finished product involved a lot of hardscape/​concrete work, woodwork to create benches and planter boxes, planting new grass/​plants, lighting, and installing a new irrigation system.
Not only was the product great, but he also worked within the confines of our budget and within time. The great thing about his service is that he was quick and responsive with our questions, very detailed with the scope of work, and offered plenty of options to help us get the garden we wanted within our budget. He was also very good about giving us updates and explaining landscape jargon to us clueless people.
Chris was very knowledgeable in every aspect of the project, from showing us environmentally sound ways to get rid of weeds, to letting us know about the types of grass and trees that we were planting and how they grow. He also has a great eye for design; we were very comfortable having him give us his input on everything.
Overall, I give Reynolds-​Sebastiani Design Services my highest recommendation. We could not have been happier with his work.

We hired Reynolds-​Sebastiani to redesign and construct our backyard garden. They came in with an innovative proposal and executed it with great speed and care. The result has been a beautiful, natural garden with drought-​tolerant yet lush plants. They also put in some berms to divide the space, a winding slate pathway, varied basalt columns, and recessed granite insets in key places. They introduced a range of plants, shrubs, and trees. Over five years later, the garden continues to delight us and we’ve gotten tons of compliments on it.

Christopher helped by not only doing a great job (and ahead of schedule and budget) but also by making some great recommendations that I hadn’t thought of — and will be benefiting from greatly. When we were ready to design and landscape our backyard shade garden, we were referred to R-​S Design by the folks at Flora Grubb. We scheduled an on-​site consultation with Christopher and Alysia and were able to work out the final details of the plan by e-​mail after only one visit. These guys came with inspired ideas, but also listened to what we were looking for in the design. Shortly after installation, one of the Japanese maple trees died. R-​S replied to the issue right away and installed a new tree in its place, (at no expense to us of course). Five years later, that tree is the star of the garden, and the entire yard is thriving and maturing beautifully. These guys were efficient, clean and respectful of our home, and we couldn’t be happier with their design skills, service and all-​around landscaping talents. We would absolutely hire them again for any landscaping or garden service needs.

There are only a couple things that matter for me. Dependability and quality, which are both delivered on 100%. We had the team out a couple years ago to completely redo our garden. It has grown in spectacular fashion and they maintain it to perfection. I love it when I don’t have to lift a finger either

Alysia and Christopher are absolutely amazing! After having an independent contractor spearhead the structural redesign our backyard, we realized something was lacking with our plantings. Alysia and Christopher to the rescue. What was once flat and boring has varied terrain and a lovely assortment of low maintenance shrubs, flowering plants and trees (no names, not a plant person). The backyard is such a lovely place to be now, especially as all of the plants are maturing. Their team also does our monthly maintenance and replenishs our pots with fragrant herbs for cooking, which come in great handy.
Any time we have a new project, they come up with a reasonable and thourough quote right away. Highly recommended.

I hired Reynolds-​Sebaastiani Design Services team back in 07 to completely renovate my back yard in Noe Valley. What the team had to work with was about 400 square feet, a steep slope, a brick border wall and two Plum trees.
I knew I wanted the slope gone, and wanted a livable space that had a New Orleans «French Quarter» feel and ambiance. The team toured the space and developed a blueprint sketch of what could be possible. I trusted what I heard and saw outlined and I gave the project the «green light».
Wow, what my family saw unfold and created over two months was simply amazing. So let’s fast forward five years and the garden has grown into its own. The juxtaposition of the dwarf maples, azara microphylla, magnolias was pitch perfect: the trees seem to sing with another and the scale is perfect. At first I thought maybe the number of magnolias, maples, and Azara microphylla might be too much but this has not been the case. The garden continues to provide year-​round enjoyment and a true destination after a hard days work or weekend afternoon. Now it’s my favorite part of the property.
With the above said, and my strongest recommendation does remain, if you have erosion issues or matters that involve soil engineering, please do this before you engage with such a project. We had experienced some slippage — our brick fence leaned backwards after a wet season or two. I alerted the team and they rectified right away. But some direction or guidance before the project started (recommended analysis) would have helped me understand how to mitigate in the future.
I would use the Reynolds-​Sebaastiani Design Services team again no question! They are a very special team — real naturals at what they do.
