Eduardo fixed my Macbook Air. He knows a lot about Apple and Apple products and is very friendly. The location is conveniently located next to 24^th St. BART and is worth a trip out to the Mission.

I found San Francisco Bay Computer Services just walking around, it is a small place but two guys that work in there are computer savvy, I had a lot of question and they answered all of them for me, then I felt confident to take my apple computer and get it in to be serviced. Actually I was totally surprised that other computer stores charge for diagnostic and this computer shop doesn’t, beside the timeframe to finish jobs is good, two or three days is not bad at all. My computer was liquid spilled and I thought there was no solution for it, but believe these guys were able to get it working for cheap… I still thinking how they did it, in Richmond there is a computer shop in there they quoted me $ 450.00 but in San Francisco Bay Computer Services I just spend less than the half of that.

I am not computer savvy so I was glad they were so friendly and helpful! They’re prices are affordable and ny laptop was fixed in a timely manner. Will definitely be coming back if my laptop gets moody again!

That San Francisco is a city with neighborhoods that seem to exist in two different realms is no news. People who live in neighborhoods like Pacific Heights and people who live in neighborhoods like Bayview Hunters Point share nothing in common, economically and socially, except for the fact that they both fall within the same city line. I bet there are people who have lived their whole lives in Pacific Heights and never set foot in a neighborhood like Bayview. Hell, I’ve lived in the Mission for almost 10 years now and I have no idea what Bayview looks like. People accept these disparities as a fact of city life and see nothing strange in these different worlds existing within the same city.
But what is really amazing to me is how such disparities can be found, not just in entire neighborhoods, but even between one city block and the next. 5^th and 6^th streets in downtown might as well be worlds away than just a block. And for the purpose of this review, I have to mention the opposite sides of the stick that Mission Street and Valencia Street seems to have gotten out of the tech boom that seems to be all the rage, positive and negative, sweeping over the city. Walk these two streets on a typical night and you’ll see on one street: diners walking to/​from their cars, revelers taking smoke breaks from their cocktails, couples/​groups out on bike rides; while on the other street, the drug dealers are still there crowding the sidewalk, the crazies are still there screaming at something invisible, the homeless still sprawled out in almost every doorway. I don’t have to tell you which street is which.
This difference was made even starker for me as I tried to find a shop that could fix my hp notebook which all of a sudden died on me. But first I had to find out how much it was gonna cost and whether I could afford to fix it with my minimum wage paycheck. I talked to a shop on Valencia first and the guy told me it will be 65 bucks, and no, not to fix my computer, but just to tell me what was wrong with it. When I asked what if it turns out the cost estimate is beyond my pay grade and I decide not to fix it, he told me, yes, you’ll still have to pay the 65 bucks.
And that is how I ended up at San Francisco Bay Computer Services. I had a feeling just because it was on Mission Street, I was going to get a cheaper deal than any shop on Valencia. And boy was I right. The technician there is Santiago and the shop is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. Of course I got a free estimate there and when I told him how I don’t have much money to spend on this, he gave me a discount also. So I paid $ 135 for a new hard drive, including labor. He also installed Windows 7 pro on the computer for free. What is more, he told me I could bring back my old drive and he will recover the data for just 40 bucks. I don’t know much about computers but that sounds like a steal. And I’m definitely going back there with my old drive as soon as I can cough up 40 bucks.
I recommend anyone with computer problems to go there first. You may not be very impressed with the shop or the street, but the work they do and the price they quote at SF Bay Computer Services will definitely impress you.

Was having some trouble with my mac laptop. It was running very slow and kept getting a spinning pinwheel. So I called Bay computers and talked to the tech. He recommended I bring it in and let him run some diagnostics. Later, I found that the hard drive was failing. Fortunately, the tech was able to repair it, without me loosing any of my pictures, music, documents… I’m glad that I have found a local trustworthy and resourceful place for all my techy struggles :)
