Good soup, plentiful choices, about 2x the price of other chain lunch spots. It will run you ~$ 8.50 for 16 oz of soup– not sure if that’s worth it over your local Panera.

Walk past this soup spot a lot. Thought I would check it out. I ordered the chili soup and half sandwich. Wow, it was bland and tasteless. I ended up throwing half of it away. It was that bad. Turkey sandwich was just ok. Service was less than par.

How to ruin a good Caesar Salad… Perfectly seasoned croutons are good, but when you put them in the salad and leave them they get soggy. No crunch, no top rating!

Tried a couple of soups, nothing tickled my fancy. After seeing some disappointed co-workers, this place is off the list. Will need some seriously bad soup elsewhere to make me return.

I make my own soup, so am not a regular customer, plus I think the prices are ridicously expensive. I was in there for breakfast, specifically their breakfast frittata, since it sounded like something that would cure my hangover hankering for some major carbs. Unfortunately for me, it did not do the trick. What I received was an undercooked English muffin topped with a hockey puck sized round of «egg» that contained flecks of red and green peppers and two pieces of some weird ham. It was oddly sweet and even a liberal shot of Tabasco and salt and pepper couldn’t redeem the puck. After a couple of bites I pitched it into the compost bin and had a baby bel and a packet of cashews for breakfast. Not exactly what I needed. One note: they use these oversized Thomas English muffins — where do I find them?

Thought a bowl of soup would provide me some good ended energy to explore the city for an afternoon. Unfortunately what we got didn’t satisfy so we ended up going straight from here to an old standby favorite in the Wharf to get something more to eat. Don’t think I will be back, soup was bland, not ‘hot’ more ‘warm’ and portion size was too small for a lunch without adding on a few other items.

I work a few blocks away and this is my go-to lunch place for quick, healthy, and relatively inexpensive food. Staff here are pretty friendly and they recently implemented a loyalty program, although their method for getting you your points(asking you for your name and typing it into a separate device) is really slow and I can see that quickly clogging up lunch rush traffic. Hopefully they will sort out a better mechanism for the loyalty program soon.

I’m sad to say that this is the last time I will go here. I stop by here several times a month for one thing — yogurt with berries & granola that I pull off the refrigerated shelf. The regular staff, including the people who I believe are in a supervisory position, are very nice and they keep the place well managed. Today being a holiday for most, I stopped in on my way to the office(~9:10AM). Unfortunately the only staff onsite this morning is the one staff member who has overcharged me at least three times, and seems, quite frankly, oblivious to customer service. Her back was turned when I came in, so I said«Good morning» so that she knew a customer was there. She returned my greeting and then turned around again. I worked retail and customer service jobs my entire teenage, and then early adult life(through college) and I would have jumped out of my skin if a person had walked in without saying anything and I was the only one on staff — once I knew a customer was present, I was focused on them. I grabbed a yogurt and stood at the cash register, assuming that she was finishing something up and would be over to help me shortly.(This is an extremely small Soup Co., so I was not hidden in any way). Then she looks up, sees that I am waiting at the cash register, and shouts(does not really yell, but it was still unprofessional) and says«When you are ready you have to tell me you are ready!» Really. I come here almost every day, I greeted you, grabbed my usual, and now you are lecturing me? I have to tell you that«I’m ready»? Aren’t you supposed to meet me halfway somewhere along the line in terms of effort? Sorry to the folks that are really great at customer service here. Going forward it might not be such a good idea to leave this employee on her own — she isn’t «ready».

Close proximity to my work, this is a convenient location to get soup on the go. I have tried a few of the soups, but one that I recommend with great flavor is the Chicken Masala if it’s available. You basically get in line, pick the soup, anything to add, then pay. Service is generally quick, and their other menu options like salad and sandwiches. There are a few tables if you have time to sit and eat.

My friend now works right across the street, so we tried lunch here yesterday. The soups were pretty good, I had Grandma’s chicken soup, and my friend had the Split Pea. You can take 1 complimentary bread with your meal, but I’m not a bread-eater, so I passed on that. We both got the egg salad sandwich, which looked good, but turned out to be a little lame. It was mostly lettuce and very little egg salad. Kind of pricey, but at least it was a healthy and somewhat satisfying lunch. Bill comes to $ 18.54 for the two of us, and that included no beverages.(water was free) Nice outdoor patio to eat at. And directly across the street is a Starbucks where you can go for your coffee and dessert, and if it interests you, the Calif St. Cable Car line begins right there.

Are you frikkin kidding me with that resizing of the Caesar salad? You try to tell me that it is the same size with different packaging but you must think I am an idiot. Instead of insulting me with that lie, come up with the truth. Just say, «we need higher margins». Until you admit it, I am done buying salad and soup there. I know it is smaller, want to know how? Because now I use about ¼ of the dressing that you give me. You should shrink that too if you want to expand your margins further. Although, my guess is that your top line is also coming down so good luck!

This place is my go to quick work lunch. The people are just so nice. Lines always go quick and I love it when they ask, «cilantro and green onions»? Makes me smile every time. The Southwestern Corn Chowder, Split Pea, and Grandma Mary’s are my favorite standards available every day.

Have lived this place for years. Their chicken tortilla soup and corn chowder are so delicious. The help, eh their fine. You can complain or compliment. They do their job. Great locations all over the city. Sometimes though I wish I could get a bowl of soup so good, like the kind they make, on a foggy night, but no go kiddo. You better hope You left a little in your cup from lunch Good soup, okay staff, not open evenings… = 4 stars

San Francisco Soup Company is located in several locations in the Financial District. When I’m short on time and need a quick lunch, I grab some soup from here since it’s located right across from my office. There’s usually a line, but it moves quickly. I usually get the Corn Chowder, but will get the Lobster Bisque if it’s offered, which was at my last visit. The Lobster Bisque was rich and creamy with good lobster taste. You also had a option of having croutons in your soup as well. You do get a hunk of French bread or a roll with your soup, but only one please, because there’s an extra charge for another piece. Overall, a good option for a quick lunch to grab and bring back to the office.

The worse sandwich I ever had… I came here at 1:30 for my lunch, maybe just too late to get a better sandwich, only had vegetarian sandwich left, so I got the it for half size, it was so bitter, foul smell and saline. I really don’t know what veggie did they put inside just not fresh and bitter. I can’t even finish it just a half size sandwich. — no star The crab soup was okay, but I prefer lobster soup — 3 stars The mabel vanilla cake was… okay, just don’t feel like to eat after the bitter sandwich — 2.5 stars. Hope the Turkey and Tuna sandwich will be much better!

3.5 stars, but I round up. The soup is nothing special, but the SFSC is a great place to go to grab a cheap, inexpensive, and pretty filling lunch. $ 6 for a small cup, which includes a piece of bread. I have tried the chicken noodle soup, burgundy chicken and mushroom soup, and clam chowder soup. I thought all were tasty, and I usually season my soup with the hot sauces(tapatio and tabasco) that they have at the condiment bar. Do not be discouraged by the long line, it moves super quickly!

So glad that we have a legit restaurant within our building. With Peet’s Coffee sitting just steps away on the other end, I would have shot myself if this had been a Starbucks instead.(Or worse– Seattle’s Best Coffee!). The soup is legit. I know this because I’m a big fan of soup. Soup is usually a definitive way to dilute out that little amount of food you have into a well-portioned meal, also known as a Trickery. But the soup here is awesome! Always served hot(be careful or you’ll burn your tongue on your first bite and take your heart out of this loving luncheon), and the contents tend to be «chunky». Definitely try the Chicken Pot Pie Soup! Whatever you do, go with the soup-sandwich combo. I’d go with the Egg Salad Sandwich. It’s the Best.

I’m a fan of soup. I remember I asked my grandmother what her favorite food was once and she told me it was soup. I didn’t understand how someones favorite food could be soup but I’m starting to understand it more and more. Soup makes a great lunch or snack. I have a hard time deciding what to eat but it seems I don’t usually go wrong when I choose soup to fill me up. There isn’t much of a wait at this location, even during the prime lunch hours. Mostly this is on account of the line moving quickly. The staff isn’t very friendly but you don’t interact with them much so I guess it’s not that big of a deal. Special soups change daily but they also have signature soups that are available every day. Sign up for the daily soup email here to find out what the specials are: . You are automatically entered into a raffle and can win a soup of the day one day. My favorite soups are the lentil soups such as Mediterranean lentil, Indian lentil(curry) and savory lentil. They are filling and satisfying and taste good too! I have also had the smokey split pea soup which is good. Chips are good here too. I recommend the blue corn or from the clear plastic bags. There are also some other chips from«Food Should Taste Good» that have a jalapeño flavor. Those are REALLY good! This SFSC has a convenient location for me and new default lunch place when I can’t think of what to eat and didn’t bring my lunch.

I really don’t understand why the lines get so long here. The soup is pre-made and more than half of the soup choices are regular daily choices. I come here only because I work close by and I don’t want to fill up on a hearty, greasy lunch. Definitely nothing to come out of your way for. Try it only if you happen to run into one. I recommend the organic corn chowder and the smoky split pea. Their turkey chili is not bad either if you’re looking for something more hearty and low carb.
