It was salty but they are making a less salty version so I will be looking out for that?

Well this place is awesome except the prices and portions. You pay way too much for far too little… but its reached a new low yesterday. I have eaten here several times, even though it is over priced, this is what its like to lunch in SF. I usually get a full sandwich but switched to halves because I never eat the whole thing. 1 Half is around 5 dollars after tax.(BTW you can get a footlong at subway for this price) I was fine with this until the portion was cut in half yesterday. Normally it comes with a ciabatta roll and this was more of a ciabatta muffin and it was cut into a ¼ and given to me. My sandwich was literally 1.5 inches by 3 inches. It was not worth the 5 dollars I paid for it… did I mention they gave it to me after I paid? They were very crowded and unfortunately time constraints have cost us our politeness and manners. When I mentioned this they told me that they have always done this and I said no this portion as bigger last week and the bread was different, they all said no. They offered to remake it but I just said what would that prove? you are literally offering to make me the same sandwich… I did take the sandwich but as a consumer they will not get another dime from me.

This place has gone downhill. I’ve been getting soup here for years since I work in the building. Today I ordered the Chicken Artichoke soup, which I’ve had many times. The server asked me if I wanted pasta with it. I said no, it’s always been gluten free which I require. He then served me a bowl of green water with spinach and a few carrots floating in it. Could not find the artichoke or chicken. What is going on? They’ve started asking if you want rice with your soup. Are they serious? Are they doing so badly they have to stretch a simple bowl of soup with potatoes or rice? I’m taking this soup back right now. They have lost my business.

I got a bowl of the smoky pea soup and was disappointed. Did not have the more traditional pea soup flavor and full of carrot chunks and red peppers. Consistency was what I would call — mush. Overall disappointing and next time I want a bowl of pea soup I will go around the corner to Café Prague. I love soup and thought I would give them a try but will try others in the neighborhood before I go back again.

Got food poisoning here today. I think it was the Cobb salad. Didn’t taste too bad going in or out, but I prefer to not get sick from the food I eat.

Their soups are delicious. My favorites here are the clam chowder, chicken tikka masala, and lobster bisque. You can get a sandwich, soup with bread for lunch for a reasonable price around $ 7 – 8.

I think this place is way too overpriced. The soup doesn’t taste organic and healthy and fresh, it’s kinda similar to the subway of soup. Also, I ordered corn chowder once and she literally scraped the bottom of the soup tin about 15 times to fill the cup. That’s kinda gross if you ask me.

I like the Chicken Tortilla soup, but I’m not at all impressed by the Southwest Corn Chowder one. It has too many potatoes, not enough corn, and a weird tangy/spicy flavor. A bowl of soup here costs at least $ 6(for the small size), so it’s extremely pricey for what you get. Would much rather go to Boudin’s across the street for my soup, salad, or salad fix.

Exactly what you’d expect from a to-go soup shop. When I first ate at SF Soup Co in Berkeley, I was so shocked at how a bowl of soup could cost $ 7. Now in SF, if I’m looking for a cheaper lunch option, SF Soup Co is where I turn. Compared to the $ 10 – 15 lunch prices you’ll find pretty much everywhere else, this is considered affordable. The location in 1 Market Food Court usually gets a decent sized line around lunch time on weekdays, but it moves fast and you will be in and out in under 10 minutes, probably closer to 5. The staff is really friendly about letting you try different flavors — I suggest you try and taste a few new soups every time you go, since they have a few core soup flavors, but outside of that they rotate flavors every day. My personal favorites are the Grandma’s Chicken(Noodle) Soup, New England Clam Chowder, Southwest Corn Chowder, and Chicken Tortilla. When I want lean and mean meat, I go for the Turkey Chili, but to be honest it usually tastes dry and is more turkey than it is chili, aka it is less soup-like than I would like. You can add on a half sandwich or side salad for $ 2.50 to any soup order, and I think this is a must have! Grab one of those tuna salad sandwiches or turkey pastrami and dip that bad boy in your warm soup and savor the delicious mixture of flavors and soggy bread in your mouth. So good. At the end of the day, this is a to-go soup shop, so expect the quality to be that of to-go food. It isn’t bad but it isn’t great. Definitely a more affordable, quick option for lunch on busy days.

Overpriced, watery, and horrible clam chowder. I can’t believe a place like this could be so close to the wharf. Don’t waste your money. Campbell soup is better.

This is a good place to go for a quick and somewhat healthy weekday meal. The soup is not great but it’s decent, quick, and conveniently located. I recommend getting the classic tomato bisque, chicken tortilla or clam chowder. Those are probably their best sellers.

I’m so glad this place exists, I eat lunch here at least half of the workdays. I originally got hooked because I was bored with my usual lunch places, and the cool thing here is that the soups change everyday so you never get bored! Of course, there are also some standard soups that you can always count on them having. So I would get a regular soup and a salad combo and be pretty happy every day and it’s like a surprise to find out what soup they have for the day that I might like. What has kept me going more recently, and made me really appreciate this place, is my new years resolution to try to eat organic and gmo-free whenever possible. I thought it wouldn’t be so hard. But every day, SFSC has three organic, vegetarian soups — Smoky Split Pea, Southwestern Corn Chowder, and Tomato something. Areas for improvement: Sometimes their sandwiches are a little mushy, and I wish they had even more organic soup options and that they had organic baked goods.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots, especially when it’s cold out in San Francisco. Their clam chowder and lobster bisque are both absolutely delightful. Super cheap too considering the location. Soup’s not necessarily the most filling of meals(you do also get a bread roll) but San Francisco Soup Company is cheap enough to add a side, which I often do. The place is incredibly efficient as well. If there is a line, someone might come through the line and ask what you want before you reach the counter. This is awesome for me since it makes the line move faster but might suck for someone who’s new and doesn’t know what he/she wants but all the more reason to become a regular!

This place is at the food court in the Westfield shopping center. It’s located in the back, almost near Bloomingdale’s. I enjoy their corn chowder, it’s pretty tasty. I think they should more corn kernels in it and slightly less potatoes. The soup tastes good though, slightly creamy and slightly sweet = yummy.

This place is pretty damn good for a food court kiosk. I came here around 1:30 and ordered right away. The chicken tortilla soup actually tastes very fresh – they garnish it with cilantro, cheese, and blue corn tortilla chips after you order it. I thought it was very flavorful with a nice medium spice to it. The regular option seems small, but once you get to the bottom of the bowl, it’s actually quite filling. Feel free to grab a hunk of sourdough or a roll, one is comped with each cup of soup. Another great thing about One Market is the free wifi! It’s an AT&T hotspot.

— Everyday there is at least one Vegetarian soup of the day; usually it’s bomb — Don’t sleep if you see they have Gumbo — Corn Chowder: filling with a heat that creeps on you — Organic Smoky Split Pea: delicious, savory, and thick with a few bits of carrots — Organic Tomato Bisque: velvet smooth, no spoon needed can be sipped from a cup — Grandma Mary’s Chicken Soup: Real chunks of chicken not shaped like squares — Have not tried the sandwiches — Always grab a chunk of sourdough bread — Condiment /flatware area is a bit cramped for as many folks they ring up — The line may look long but goes quick

For the food court, this is a very good option. I wanted to treat my friend from the UK to some San Francisco clam chowder in a bread bowl. Every where else was closed so this was our only option. I was worried that it wouldn’t taste good… but he enjoyed it a lot! He didn’t have much to compare it to though since it was his first time eating clam chowder. The soup wasn’t too thick or salty. It was the right flavoring and had good consistency. The bread bowl could have been better, but I won’t be too picky. I like that they have a lot of options in terms of soup. You can get pea soup, corn chowder…

BOOO!!! I went here with my sister just to try it out because I am a lover of the chowda! I had the clam chowder that seriously lacked in taste. I had to add a ton of pepper and salt. It had way too much going on in the soup. I’m a simple person– i dont need a fiesta of veggies. it killed the taste. I paid $ 10 for half a sandwich, an orange and a cup of soup. I left incredibly unsatisfied…

Decent soup on offer with some organic options available for the afraid… A bit overpriced but its impossible to get lunch under $ 5 these days without regretting it later. I recently had the Italian Wedding soup and I enjoyed it… the meatballs and veggies were plentiful and the broth was nice and thick. However, I think SF Soup Co. has too much extraneous BS on sale like fruit cups and yogurt ala Starbucks. They should focus on having better bread and higher end sandwiches instead of the mediocre offerings they currently purvey. I mean, it’s San Francisco and good soup is abundant as are sandwiches. Step it up or get vacant… and don’t compensate for a lack of business by raising prices every quarter!

If you don’t go early or late, plan to stand in a heckofa line. I had a mini-boycott going for SF Soup until they brought back my favorite Curried Butternut Squash soup, but the Caribbean Sweet Potato may just do the trick. It’s similar, but with its own special yamminess. I was happy to see a new hummus wrap and a spinach/mushroom salad(although it had bacon on it) as newcomers to the sandwich/salad offerings. I hereby decree the boycott over!
