Very impressed with Scott!
I called Scott to help put together a Pottery Barn Kids bookcase and install a couple of shelves on the wall. And I’m so glad I did!
After gathering some basic details, Scott and Sean showed up having purchased all the right hardware to get the job done. I really appreciated Scott’s foresight and his wall anchors were far superior to the cheap ones Pottery Barn included.
I later discovered that Pottery Barn had also failed to provide an earthquake strap or brackets. My parental worry kicked in… so I texted Scott. He responded without hesitation, understanding my concern, and he kindly came back (at no additional charge) to install an earthquake strap and brackets!

Scott Boland is a very nice man. He was flexible about accommodating the various tasks that needed to be done at my elderly mothers home. The work he undertook was overall well attempted, but alas, it was never completed. The bathroom remodel is unfinished, the water pressure is almost non-​existent, and he substituted fixtures for pieces she had chosen. Scotts men pulled the sheetrock out of the basement and left chunks unfinished and hanging. They damaged the redwood garage door, ripping an edge off. for the past 2 months we have been trying to contact him to make good on his promises to complete (and repair) these projects. Yes, he was paid in full. We have attempted phone messages, mail, email and a message through Unilocal,with no response. Now we are attempting to review him here, and complain to the BBB. Meanwhile we are hiring another contractor to finish before the holidays. Its a shame really, he’s quite the gentleman, and my Mother was quite pleased right up until he disappeared. Thank goodness he hadn’t started the kitchen remodel! I guess he would be great for a small one off job, but don’t count on him for anything larger, he doesn’t follow through.

I needed help picking up some large furniture imported from Thailand from a warehouse in Oakland. Scott was the perfect guy for the job. Since I had to actually be there to sign some release documents and such but didn’t have a car, Scott let me ride with him to and from the warehouse, which saved me a lot of trouble!
When we got there he made sure I took pictures of the cargo as soon as they opened the crates. He meticulously inspected them for damage, and wrapped the furniture up in blankets and shrink wrap before loading them into his van. On a side note, he actually knew a lot about furniture.
It all arrived at my apartment without a scratch. I’ll definitely be calling him up again if I ever need help with something like this in the future.

Scott and his team are some of the most professional and easy to work with people I have come across. He is highly efficient at both smaller and bigger tasks, and makes any job seem effortless. If i ever have a house, I know who I am calling to build my deck!

Scott has come to our home three times to do a variety of lite construction and handyman services – repair to our fence, power washing our deck and outdoor furniture, gutter cleaning, hanging and taking down christmas lights, lite indoor construction and more. He’s honest, hard working, smart and I give him a full recommendation.

Scott just finished a day long job at my place. He was on time, great to work with and the work itself was done exactly as he described. Overall an excellent job and no surprises. The two rooms he worked in were perfectly clean and tidy when I got home!
A huge bonus was that he was fine with my big dog having free range in the house all day!
I would recommend him to anyone. I’m hoping to have him back again to do a few more small things around the place. Thanks Scott!

Never showed. Didn’t even call until an hour after he was late. I get that things come up and jobs run over but my time is valuable as well. If I could leave 0 stars I would, because I never even had a chance to see his work. A simple phone call or a heads up would have gone a long way.

Scott was courteous and professional in our initial call to scope the project and set the time to meet at the project site. Unfortunately he never arrived at all and never called to alert me of any changes, nor did he return my call to reschedule. A waste of my time. With all the good reviews I wish I could have experienced the same

Dealing with contractors can be very stressful; starting from very basic like not being able to hear back from them or no show.
Scott will always call you back. He always shows up. Although he says he’s a handyman, but he can literally do anything! From like Ikea furniture to full blown restaurant remodeling!
He really thinks of a way to make things happen and hardly ever say no. It’s amazing to have found him!

if you need a project done at your house from some who is good and offers great prices, Scott if your guy! I called several contractors in the city to get a quote on the installation of a bathtub screen /​shower door and Scott was over 50% cheaper, did the work the same day and also threw in two other minor repairs I needed. Absolutely a gem of a handy man.

I bought a deal from Scott, but was not able to reach him via phone or text message. His vm is full. My rating may change after I talk to Scott,

Scott showed up on time, and completed all tasks with obvious skill, and a real attention to detail. We were completely satisfied with everything Scott did, from painting and entire studio apartment, to fixing warped doors. He is a true professional, and we will definitely use his services in the future.

I have had experience working with several handymen, but Scott is without a doubt the best and everything you hope for when hiring someone to do various projects in and out of your home. The ultimate macgyver, his range is vast; from simple jobs, hanging paintings, window coverings and fixtures, to the more complex, electrical, wood work, plastering, painting, wood flooring, tiling, general construction… the list goes on… Professional, trustworthy, resourceful, efficient, smart, and highly skilled, he often goes beyond the call of duty. I just can’t say enough. He is my go to when I need anything done.

Scott arrived right on time and was prepared for a wide assortment of tasks, although I did not provide an itemization before his visit. These included hanging curtain rods (left it up to his judgement and the length came out perfect!), installing a retractable window screen and wood blinds, planing a door (he took it to the garage, because it would make a mess – and he cleaned up the mess), some minor electrical work, etc.
Scott is very affable as well as competent and efficient. I will definitely be calling Scott again.

Scott has a pleasant demeanor, and he is definitely capable and knowledgeable to handle all sorts of handyman jobs you might need done at home! In addition to the jobs completed (listed below), during his 1^st visit he was able to offer some assessments and estimates for other potential projects and repairs around the house.
–He is flexible and accommodating (when we didn’t have enough work on 1 visit to fill up the 2-​hour minimum, I suggested a random deep-​cleaning/​maintenance task of power washing, and he quickly sprung into action).
–He also showed consideration, in that when he wasn’t going arrive right «on time» he called to let us know (not the norm of some contractors!)
–He is also very friendly toward my dog, which is always a plus. :)

–Replace damaged pergo trim: Custom cut & installed

All good things to say about Scott! I needed a door installed on my bedroom when I moved in and Scott came by the same afternoon I called to assess the job. He gave me several options for different routes to get the quality and cost I wanted. He spent hours to find a used door that exactly matched the others in my apartment, and found beautiful unique hardware to match at a discounted price. Very trustworthy, personable, and easy to work with, and accommodating to my location and schedule.
I will definitely use him again and would recommend him to anyone looking for an honest, responsive and high-​quality handyman!

Scott did several small jobs at my house. He did the work quickly and thoroughly, he was friendly and checked in with me several times about details, and he was on time. He even leveled a listing shelf in the garage which I hadn’t asked him about.
My only complaint is that Scott didn’t do a great job cleaning up; still I’d hire him again.

Nothing but good things to say about Scott, he is professional, charges a fair rate and is easy to work with.
After installing new carpets, all of our interior doors needed to be planed. I called Scott and he was able to give me an estimate over the phone. He arrived promptly and did all of the work in less time than anticipated so he took a bit off the price. He cleaned up everything and now our doors work perfectly!
