Excellent customer service, I wish I could give Selecta Auto Body more than 5 stars. I came in recently with a scratch on my hood made by a falling sign and was helped by Andy Wernette. Service was fast, courteous, as well as above and beyond expectations. I will definitely recommend Selecta Auto Body without hesitation. I will be back if I need any future body work on my car! Thanks a million to Andy and his team!

Fantastic experience with Selecta.
My new car was recently the victim of a hit & run incident in the mission, taking out the side mirror, and damaging the fender, bumper, and door. Went with Selecta because they are a preferred body shop of my insurance (Farmers), and because their reviews were so good.
Worked with Andy, who was friendly and super helpful from beginning to end. He called me regularly with updates to let me know when my car would be ready. The car ended up taking only 3 working days (and 1 weekend) to fix. The Selecta team was also accommodating when I explained to them that I needed to get my car into the shop earlier than my scheduled appointment because the insurance wouldn’t pay for my rental for the weekend otherwise.
They have a great relationship with the rental company too, so that transaction was quick and painless as well.
I can’t speak for the prices Selecta offers, as my insurance covered that (minus the deductible) but the work they did appears to be really top notch. They even washed and cleaned my car before handing it back over.
Overall, couldn’t recommend Selecta enough. Hopefully I won’t need more body work, but if I do, Selecta will be my first pick.

My neighbor hit my (parked) car with a rented UHaul truck. Boo. I got an estimate from the dealership first (seemed like as good a place as any to start) and sent it to my neighbor. He wasn’t insured for the truck, so he wanted to pay out of pocket. Being a freshly minted college graduate, he expected a gold star for having left a note when he hit me, and had no clue how much it costs to have body work done on a new (ish) car. So when he insisted on another estimate, I found Selecta on Unilocal.
The reviews seemed too good to be true for car repairs, but I quickly learned that Selecta has earned each of its 5-​star reviews. The estimate process was quick and painless; they order all the necessary parts in advance of your repair appointment, so the repair itself only took 2 days.
The estimate was a tiny bit lower than what the dealership quoted me so not necessarily a «bargain» but do you really want that when it comes to your vehicle? You kind of get what you pay for.
They couldn’t have been nicer or more professional either, and the shop is kind of beautiful! They clearly love what they do over there and they take pride in it, it is immediately evident.
The ultimate price of the repair came in exactly at the quoted estimate, so no surprises.
My previous experience with body work is that it is a hassle, expensive, and takes forever. Well at this place, it is quick and painless, efficient, and it costs what it costs. They’ve been in business so long, they know it’s not worth it to screw anybody over.

Awesomely knowledgeable and honest. They do a lot of insurance work, but they also were able to help me out on a very quick (10 minutes, yes minutes) job where I just paid cash. Anthony got me a quote in about 5 minutes after I artfully ripped the side view mirror off my car. And the work was done asap when I brought the car back with a replacement part. Thanks Anthony!

5 stars is not enough for this place! Everyone at Selecta was super friendly, kept me informed of the entire process, and did a fantastic job. My car looks better now than when I bought it. They even opened up the shop especially for me on a Saturday morning. Don’t go anywhere else! Hands down the best of SF!

Full disclosure: this was my first time ever having body damage repaired on a car before, so I don’t have any previous point of reference.
That being said, WOW. I’d hoped the rear-​bumper paint damage I had from being gently rear-​ended would turn out good — hopefully like you couldn’t tell it had been repainted.
Instead, my expectations were exceeded. The finish is EXACT, including the color-​match on my 10-​year-​old car. The bumper literally looks new. I couldn’t be happier with the work. And I’m someone who’s really picky and protective of my cars.
I chose Selecta based on their Unilocal reviews, and they lived up to their rating. Alison was very kind and helpful on phone calls and texting me with updates to the car, while my estimator, Andy, was kind and utterly professional. Thank you, Selecta crew.

Excellent! Great customer service, even at 7am! After a mishap involving my partner putting my car in reverse and getting the door caught on a post, my door hinge was bent and I couldn’t even close the door. I went to the shop at open and they didn’t turn me away because they had a full shop, they went right out and took an estimate on the repair. To avoid a week or longer ordeal with my insurance I was bracing myself to pay out of pocket. He came back in 5 min with an estimate that was incredibly reasonable and comprehensive for the repair. He temporarily fixed my door so that I could use it and sent me on my way with no cost today! I nearly cried. Heaven forbid I need more body work in the future, but if I do, I know where I will go.

Great service — the friendliest and most honest auto body staff I’ve ever encountered. I don’t want to come back (for obvious reasons), but if I have to, I will definitely choose Selecta again.

They have already took my money but they didn’t tell me my parts has already arrived. I have to call to track my parts. This feeling is not so well.

I hired Selecta to work on my 1969 280sl Mercedes Benz. The entire floor of the car including the firewall needed to be fully replaced. The work was extremely extensive and far more costly than the shop estimated. When I went to pick up my car Selecta honored their original quote despite the hundreds of hours of additional work. The work on the car was flawless and done far beyond expectations. The integrity of the shop was shocking. I am encouraged to know there are still honest, trustworthy, business looking to do excellent work and keep the customer first. I highly recommend this body shop.

Let’s be real… no one really wants to go to an auto body place. Usually it means that you have been in an accident and your car is messed up in some way. It’s usually expensive and annoying and takes forever.
Not at Selecta Auto Body.
I was rear-​ended at a stop light and the Volvo was in bad shape, y’all. Selecta is right around the corner from my apartment and the insurance company recommended them. I went in, they did an examination of the damage. They provided me with an estimate and ordered the parts. We made an appointment for me to drop off my car when the parts came in.
Dropped off the car and they had called the rental company ahead of time so they were waiting for me.
JR and his team kept me informed every step of the way. Texts, emails, phone calls. The damage was worse than expected and they updated me.
Clean shop, great people, cute dogs, insanely good customer service.
It doesn’t get better.

The A in Selecta is their rating. This place is terrific. Easy to work with, quality results, delivered ahead of time. No hassles, everything arranged. A clean shop. Wonderful people. Two really cute and friendly dogs. I’d write a longer review but there’s not really much else to say. I hope I never have to go here again, I’m not really into accidents, but if I do, it’s the only place I’ll go.
Comcast should hire the people here for millions of dollars to train their customer service reps.

Work and will go above and beyond to accommodate you! Getting your car banged up is not very pleasant but they somehow manage to make it as painless as possible! They also do amazing car detailing!!!

Whether you need a 1965 TBird frame off restoration or just want to get your Mini a full detail, Selecta is the best in the City, perhaps even beyond for body work, paint, detailing and yes, even managing car restoration projects.
Service is the best, the location is convenient and the work is top tier.

Where do I start with this awesome review… I don’t think I can speak enough to how awesome JR and his crew were to me this morning.
The accident… I pretty much drove my car off a high curb and it ripped the bumper bracket off the bumper. I was literally so distraught and thought the repair was going to cost at least a grand.
I did my research and found Selecta and couldn’t help but read all the great reviews and shoose them as my first stop.
I showed up at 730am… JR looked at it and asked if I wanted it popped back into place and I of course said yes. Popped it in and the end of the bumper piece was still sticking out and he told me the part to fix that would only be about $ 10 and he could order it.
Then…a miracle happened… one of the guys said they have the same part (which is NEVER the case when it comes to insignificant parts like this one) from a repair they just finished.
Sure enough, it was the right part — JR had one of his guys fix it in 5 minutes and only charged me for the part ($ 10).
This was a refreshing experience considering what I was expecting — will be coming back for any other repairs to the car body (hopefully never)

I’ve created my Unilocal account for several years now I believe, there hasn’t been a business that has impressed me so much that I know I have to write an excellent review for. Selecta Auto Body, you have impressed me so much with your excellent service that I know, I have to pop my cherry and write my first review.
I brought my car in because someone hit me in the rear, I chose this body shop because of their Unilocal reviews and Unilocal did not lie! Everyone there is super professional and friendly, Anthony was the one that took care of me and my car the whole time. He is extremely easy to talk to, professional, he has a lot of knowledge, definitely good at what he does, and boy, he definitely goes above and beyond to ensure his customers are happy!
I was really happy with my experience with selecta, there hasn’t been any business that has awe me so much in their service. I will definitely come back and would recommend this place to everybody I know. Oh forgot to mention about one thing, my car looks brand new after it was repaired, their workmanship is also beyond expectation!

Had some bodywork that I needed done, and since it was 100% the other driver’s fault, I had my choice of body shops. I remember seeing JR and his crew’s work on Euge’s car quite a few years ago, so I wanted to give them a shot.
Made an appointment, brought the car in, and received nothing but pro service. They were super helpful and explicit in what I should expect in the process, and how they would work with they payor’s insurance. A few days later, all the work was complete, and I was definitely happy with the result. Often times, even the best body shops require a little push to make sure that all the gaps are perfect, and that the finish on the paint is spot on. If you’re eye’s trained for it, you can see where work has been done. At Selecta, however, my car looked like it was brand new again. You really can’t ask for much else from a body shop.
Funnily enough, when I went to pick up the car, JR said «wait, a minute, don’t I know you? You were a judge at Euge’s chicken contest, right?» I never mentioned anything of the past to JR, but the guy still remembered me from the one time I met him seven years ago. It’s then when I realized what makes JR and Selecta so good, he’s a guy that understands that his business is more than just «you give me your money and I’ll provide you with a service,» He’s not just out there to profit, but to be a part of and benefit the community.

Disclaimer, I’ve known jr for a bit. But, the better half did everything this time.
My partner, my better half, my love… Some really inconsiderate driver didn’t check his blind spot and changed lanes with his contractor Toyota Tundra into her car. Good thing he had good insurance and stated it was his fault.
This review is about my partners experience at Selecta.
She’s picky.
She a director at an established IT company.
But she’s still my girl.
I felt bad I couldn’t be there to drop her car off, talk to the guys, grunt and spit and drink a beer and take care of all this.
I know she can take care of herself but as a man, I felt I should be there, but because of work I couldn’t.
One day I got home to our house and she said, oh wow those guys at Selecta are really cool.
In her words, as a woman, she felt at ease, they never once made her feel like a «woman in a garage». And for you people saying I’m a Neanderthal, well go to a mechanic. Tell me Im wrong for stating a simple fact. Me, as a guy that tracks his motorcycle, can do most all basic maintenance on his car… I still get that bs from a lot of garages.
Not only did Selecta do the job right, but in my partners words, she felt like she was at her friends house. Everything was taken care of and it was one of the first pleasant experience she’s had when dealing with issues with her car.
