Speedway Copy Systems

About three months ago, I started working with Speedway after joining a new company that have used them in the past. A few weeks ago we had an event that needed a lot of print materials. As all of us designers know, there are always last minute edits from everywhere. I’m impressed with the quality of work and service that May and the Speedway team has shown. May is always helpful and friendly, and I’m pleased with the turnaround time of projects. I highly recommend using Speedway as your print vendor.

Last week I had an interview in SOMA, (I’m from San Diego) and I was unable to print my resume and was having trouble trying to find somewhere I could print it out. I had about twenty minutes until I had to be at the office. They were SO HELPFUL! She helped me resize and print the copy or my resume and I made it to my interview just in time. Great customer service!

Love this crew. They are fast, friendly, and provide a quality product. I’ve used them for high-​volume copies, business cards, large format printing and am always pleased. Keep up the solid work!

Update: I had a last-​minute graphic design and print job to be done. I called Speedway gave them the specs. They sent me something to review within the hour. A tweak here, a tweak there, and it was perfect. They followed my instructions, and applied their creativity judiciously. I had my posters by the end of the day, delivered to a shop two blocks from my office. The prices were very reasonable. This is one top-​notch outfit. Thanks for saving my bacon, Speedway!

Fantastic service! I’ve used them for large format prints and quality color 11×17. They really listen and are accommodating.
Prices are on the pricey side, but spot testing was complementary, and for the excellent customer service, I didn’t mind the premium.

i needed some work done asap so i called speedway and May answered the phone she gave me directions and somehow when I walked in she new who i was. I was in and out in about 10 minutes while she helped other customers at the same time #totallyimpressed I would highly recommend this business for any one who has need of there services.

I have worked with Speedway for over a decade — ordering everything from fliers to custom holiday cards to camapign ads. May and the team are always extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. Would give six or seven stars if I could!

I am not a designer, nor have I ever really gotten something professionally printed before. Nonetheless, I was trying to print some programs, placecards, and menus for my upcoming wedding that I had hacked together in Adobe Illustrator. For me to order them from an online site such as wedding paper divas was going to cost ~$ 600, and they wouldn’t even be custom :(
May was extremely helpful and walked me through how to put crop marks, etc on my design template to make sure that everything lined up. She printed tons of proofs for me so I could check out the different paper types, and I was able to send her all of my PDF’s over email.
When all was said and done, I picked up 3 perfectly packaged bundles of the programs, menus, and placecards — all neatly cut and looking amazingly professional! I am so happy! I wish I had more things to print!

Diligent, communicative customer service and great printing with lightning-​fast turnaround time. We had an issue with our alignment and cut marks and their team reformatted the doc for us at no extra charge. Their online system made uploading a breeze, and they were very accommodating with our particulars.
If the mundane parts of life were like a bad Choose Your Own Adventure book, the scenarios would go like this:
In between having to spend lunch taking your bulimic schnauzer to the vet, finding out your car’s at the impound lot, and your boss dumping an investor slidedeck on you at 5pm due tomorrow, the day looked like it couldn’t get much worse until you learned your custom holiday card order featuring Hans in a santa hat and knit sweater from your ex-​wife was botched at Kinko’s. And the date is Friday, December 22^nd.
You decide to:
a) Tell your «superior» he can bite it and that you hope the company doesn’t get another penny. Crumple the sample of the holiday card and stuff it into the open mouth of the incompetent Kinko’s employee. Then celebrate by sucking down a pint of Cherry Garcia while feeding Hans peking duck and later watch fascinated as it dribbles back out his mouth in liquid form.
b) Mainline three 5-​hr Energy shots and bang out that slidedeck like a good worker bee. Write a three star review of the terrible Kinko’s on Unilocal.Then give Hans his favorite diet Iams, and disregard the errant screw in your Swanson’s TV dinner.
c) Invite your old college roommate who has a finance degree over for dinner in exchange for her whipping out that slidedeck. Then go to the Speedway website, upload your doc, enter the specifications and paper type, and watch the Daily Show until May calls to confirms that she can resize the card just a wee bit to be able to print two to a page, saving you half the cost, and that your order will be ready at 11am for pick-​up.
There are some decisions worth mulling over. But for others, the right choice rings loud and clear.

I went to speedway copy to have a very basic copy of a jpeg image made for my art class. The representative at the front counter was very rude and did not make any attempt to help. I don’t know if she needed coffee or a nap but she made me never want to return as a customer. 0 stars at best.

I went to Speedway today because of the positive reviews, (and it’s proximity to my home) to do a small simple B&W photocopy job which included a photograph. I had made a mock up of how i wanted everything to look on the crappy copy machine at work to bring in and show them. The copy’s that were done at Speedway were VERY dark and of poor quality (all the detail was lost), and overpriced to boot. I should have just done my copying on the crappy machine at work, it turned out a much better result than the «professionals» at speedway.

Dependable, efficient, friendly, consistently deliver on time, good customer service and honest is how I would describe Speedway Copy Systems.
1. I’ve thrown them every possible curve ball (unintentionally, of course) including deadlines that were due two days back, reprint due to bad paper, reprint due to bad ink, things to do with shipping, cutting, scoring and mounting, and all through they’ve done a pretty good job.
2. Their online system of ordering is really neat, simple to understand and just saves a lot of time and back and forth. I highly recommend creating an account with them online.
3. They definitely offer many more services than Kinkos AND their quality is way better than Kinkos. I got a set of larger than life posters printed and mounted on board and the quality was as good as BPS Reprographic Services.
4. I also use them for large scale copy jobs, die cutting, scoring, sorting and some mailing and have not found a reason to complain. Also used them for some business card and stationary printed and was satisfied. It’s not The Ligature but its not Kinkos either!
5. Patti and her team of two are great, always friendly, approachable, up with the latest Giants info, they know their stuff and if they know of a better and cheaper way to do it… they’ll tell you.
Good folks, good company and good service.

Great service. They have a very cool web system that converts to pdf. However, I found them to be very overpriced. I consulted them about printing a few portfolio books and business cards for me and it cost about double than ordering online (including same day printing and overnight shipping).

We used their services several times. They called us to alert us of potential problems (poor quality of the graphics in the file we sent them) and to let us know the order was ready. They’re good, reliable, and honest too. And they have many more services (related to printing) than Kinko’s.
