Sudhira Hay, Piano Tuner & Technician

I could not be happier! Sudhira Hay did such an amazing job!
I am so happy that my antique piano actually sounds like a piano now. It was really out of tune, (even though I guess back in those times when my piano was made, they used a different tuning back then.)
I have a De Prouw Aubert, which was a french piano company from 1798 – 1900, the only known De Prouw Aubert pianos around are 3 or 4 that are in museums in France.
I believe mine to be an 1836 or (somewhere close to around that year)
Sudhira had never even been up close to a piano that old let alone work on one and she gasped as she saw the (bird cage) that are in certain old pianos as they’re almost impossible to tune due to not being able to mute the strings. She was about to leave until she saw something very unusual. The doors underneath allowed her access to the strings that she needed to get access too and so she was able to tune up my piano. She was surprised that the piano even worked and was surprised in it’s good condition, besides the fact it is almost a 200 year old piano. In order to get it perfect to todays standards would cost me allot of time and money but I just love the look of this old French piano with the asian artwork. Plus I kind of like the thought of having original 200 year old strings still on it because when I played guitar professionally I would change strings everyday but a piano is quite different. Anyway, I love how much heart and soul she put into making my old French piano finally sing again. Just like a mad frankenstein doctor, she brought this beast back from the dead, but it’s still almost 200 years old, so he has somewhat of an aged scratchy voice.

Sudhira is amazing! I watched her work magic on our last-​of-​the-​handmade Steinways. I’ve had my piano tuned by several people, but have never been more satisfied with the technical attention to detail. Sudhira’s professional demeanor, communication skills and warm personality make me give her five stars!

Our house came with a piano that my mother-​in-​law bought over 20 years ago. Nothing fancy, just an upright Kimball, but it had hardly been used and is in great condition. Unfortunately, it hadn’t been tuned in 20 years, either. You can imagine how it sounded. After reading all the Unilocal reviews I gave Sudhira a call and I am so glad I did. First off, she is just a great person. Most importantly, though, she is a great piano tuner. She explained to me that it would take several tunings to get our piano back in tune. The first session, it sounded like a honky tonk piano, but it was pretty much in tune. After the second a month later, it sounded amazing. She finished up the third after two months and it’s fantastic. Now, mind you, not everyone will take that many tunings. Ours was WAY out of tune.
As I said, Sudhira is a wonderful person and she is also very professional. She was right on time for all three appointments and was very thorough. She fixed some of the sticky keys I had an really made this Kimball sing. She treated it like a Steinway.
I highly recommend Sudhira. She is great at what she does and is a pleasure to work with. I am so happy I found such a great person to take care of my piano.

Sudhira is awesome. She breathed a new life into my Yamaha U3 piano and made it sound better than it ever has. She patiently answered all my questions about tuning while she was tuning it, and so I learnt an incredible amount from her too. And she was able to find time with very short notice, which I really appreciated. You can’t go wrong with her.

Sudhira is an excellent piano tuner. Really precise and considerate, and passionate about her work. She will not take liberties with your piano!
