Everything we saw in Tangent was exhilarating, oblique, and peripheral. But it was here that I was introduced to Patrick Hughes… And for that, I will forever remember Tangent. Amongst a two-block sea of galleries, you’ve pulled my attention around corners I didn’t even know were there.

Wow, looks really interesting from the outside. Unfortunately it wasn’t open when I walked by. Can’t wait to get a chance to visit.

The art is five star but the attitude of the person sitting the gallery brought it down to a two. I am a member of a gallery and know the importance of a friendly face greeting people as they walk in. I came in with two friends after a matinée at ACT. I said hello to the man at the desk but he grunted dismissively and went on with what he was doing. He never budged from his seat, never looked our way and definitely didn’t thank us for coming in. He had no way of knowing whether I had $ 20,000 to invest in art or if I represented a buyer. His attitude convinced me to contact the artist directly if I decide to purchase.

There is some rather interesting art here. I’ve never been inside, but i always seem to stay at a hotel that requires me to pass by this particular store front. On each visit, I wind up peering through the glass windows, sometimes taking pictures of their exhibits. This last time, there was the most interesting 3-d picture that moved when you walked by. I didn’t notice its workings at first, but once I did, I kept walking back in front of the gallery every time we had the opportunity to pass buy. I’d probably buy the darn thing if I could afford it!

I went by when it was closed, but it looked cool from what I could see through the window.
